Does anyone know of a way to get active display to "bypass" lockscreen replacements when unlocking from active display?
I want a new lockscreen, but when unlocking from active display it then goes to the lockscreen replacement, which i then have to slide to unlock again. When using the stock lockscreen it just bypasses the lockscreen entirely.
I currently have this issue too. I use HiLocker and love it. But when using active display its useless

You can't use some lock screen widgets if you have a security lock screen thanks to Samsung being weird and annoying. Plus they removed the quick launch camera lock screen with their silly app matrix.
If you just use the slide to unlock feature then slide your finger from the top down and then left or right and you'll have the option of adding more.
You first have to enable them in the settings. Also you can enable quick camera instead of using the app matrix, you'll find that in the same place.... Main settings---> lockscreen ---> check the multiple widgets box. Tap the next box down to configure the quick launch camera as default instead of the app matrix should you choose.
im gettingvreally annoyed with unlovking d phone and the clock expands. Is there a way to remove the expand option?

Bumping this one ... Anyone knows how to get a clean unlock screen like S3 for example ?
Are we all on the same page here.... sometimes the lock screen will go haywire and show some mini applications, or boxes that have edit options? Like adding stuff to the lock screen when you didn't ask for it... ? Anyway to turn it off.... Might have to buy a custom locker
I dont have any widgets/apps on the lockscreen, but its kind of annoying when the clock expands and makes it hard to unlock the phone....
I guess we got too used to the "slide from anywhere to unlock" feature. Just slide at the very bottom and youre golden every time

If you slide downward from the clock widget or any other screen widget, this feature allows you to edit the current widget, add a new one, or replace.
hello everyone, my name is opey i'm kinda new to the whole Samsung galaxy s4. I'm on 4.3 right now and i want to be able to use a cam lockscreen widget so i can have quick access to my cam. I can't figure out how to get the widget to my lock screen. can anyone help me out with this?
Well I don't have my phone nearby. But I think the option is at on the second tab on the settings screen. I think it's called my device. And in there is option of lock screen and there you need to check option for enable lock screen widget.

Lately when I go to unlock the screen from the lock screen, I'll accidentally swipe from the left of the screen and it will take me to a widget page, where I'll have to swipe back to middle, up to default lock screen, and then try swiping to unlock again. Is there any way to disable this annoying lock-screen widget thing?

You could disable the lock screen altogether. When you double tap it would take you directly to your home screen.
I like the LG lock screen ...but I have no need for lockscreen widgets

Any progress on dealing with this problem?
Still no answer?
You can try lock screen policy app from the app store and that disables widgets on lock screen ... I think it should work with LG lock screen
Is there a free screen lock widget that locks v20 yet allows reopen with fingerprint rather than pin? I have tried several and they either don't really lock or require pin to reopen. Thanks!

Are you using nova launcher?
no
Screen off
but will it work with fingerprint? most require pin for some reason.
Why use a widget? Can't you just double knock to screen off and lock?
Only way for it to work is for it to set a timeout where it shows a blank screen until the phone shuts itself of. Ever since mm it has been this way. You can however double tap the notification bar to put it to sleep and still use fingerprint to unlock.

I need to disable. it since phone sometimes opens in holster by itself.
Yeah if you use LG's default launcher, you will be able to simply use Knock Off/On and unlock with your fingerprint. If you are using a different launcher then i believe you need root to be able to allow it to use double tap to lock without using admin. (Using admin to lock makes it require pin usage and not fingerprint).
Nova Launcher has such feature which is why I asked.
You might check out C Locker. It even has profiles where it won't lock when on specific BT or WiFI, or location.
As stated above, if you are rooted, you can get this working fine using Nova launcher (I'm currently doing that via Tasker but there are other apps that can do it too).
If you are not rooted then you may be SOL for now until changes are implemented on Google or LG's end (unless you find an app that is using the black screen/timeout workaround).
I also miss Gsam. Totally inaccurate in V20. Due to security changes in Nougat I'm told
