Custom Recovery

Hello,
is there any how-to for flashing a custom rocovery on the samsung spica, so I can install custom rom and backup with nandroid (like I can do with clockworkmod on my desire)!?
Id flash LK2.08 with Odin.
Have fun!
Yes you can flash Leshak's LK2.08 Kernel with Odin, then upgrade that to the latest 2.10 recovery. Its what I have right now and then you are set to get Cyanogenmod 6.1.1 on your Spica
By the way you need to change your Kernel because there is no other way to get recovery on Spica.
This guide will guide you through the process:
http://mesonprojekt.com/blog/root-your-samsung-spica-with-lk208
Then head here and update your Spica to the latest Cyanogen ROM (including the latest Kernel/Recovery update):

Hope that helps

Upgrading stock JB Rom to Custom Kit Kat?

Hi Sifus,
I owned a SM-N9005 Note 3, with Stock MJ1 Rom, rooted with CF-Auto and installed with TWRP (hlte) 4.3.
So I understood that once upgrading to KK, there's currently no way to downgrade back to JB thus taking this pre-caution to ask for advices. (correct me if I'm wrong)
I am intended to upgrade my Note 3 to a custom KK ROM (eg: XRom, Omega Rom, etc...) however, I am not too sure what's the next step I need to take?
(A) Since I'm rooted with TWRP, go ahead and download the ROM from developer and follow instructions to flash?:victory:
(B) Since I'm still with JB, I need to flash to Stock KK before flashing any custom KK ROM?
(C) Other better ways?
Regards,
SiLvErBoLd17
Some advises please? Anyone?

#1: Goto http://SamMobile.com and download the latest official stock
KK 4.4.2 firmware for your phone's model Note 3 (N9005).
#2: Download cf-autoroot from: http://download.chainfire.eu/352/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
#3: Unzip cf-autoroot into an empty folder on your computer's desktop
and copy the new odin flash kk firmware and twrp into the same folder.
#4: The cf-autoroot zip file comes with Odin which is needed to flash
the stock official firmware, cf-autoroot and twrp recovery.
#5: Download TWRP from here: http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/hlte/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.3-hlte-4.4.img.tar
#6: Perform a full wipe including Wipe Data, System, Cache, Dalvik and
last but not least a factory reset in twrp recovery.
#7: Odin flash the stock official firmware which you have downloaded.
#8: Odin flash cf-autoroot.
#9: Odin flash twrp recovery.
Once you have done the above you will be able to flash any of the zip
file custom roms which are designed for the Note 3 N9005 phone.
Good luck!

[Q] how to flash custom roms?

how to flash custom roms from stock?
is your device rooted
do you have odin installed on a PC
Do you have a custom recovery installed
First, you'll have to root your device, preferably by Towelroot (if you want to keep your warranty) or CF Auto-Root (if you don't care about Knox and your warranty), then install a recovery, preferably TWRP, then flash your desired ROM via TWRP. Good luck and have fun with your rooted device!

You don't need root to flash custom rom.
You need only custom rcovery to flash rom.
Download custom recovery (CWM or TWRP) for your device. Flash it with the Odin.
Then boot into recovery and flash custom rom from there (follow the instruction for each custom rom).

[Q] Downgrade Lollipop to KitKat, Bootloader & Modem question [N910G]

I am currently on Lollipop on my N910G and I want to downgrade to KitKat by flashing a custom rom in recovery. Do I need to downgrade my bootloader and modem as well? I have been trying to find an Odin flashable bootloader and modem but cant find a download anywhere at the moment.
I went through this process a while ago.
From what I remember, I had to wipe the device in recovery and flash the official kitkat rom.
I think I followed this guide:

YU Yureka Upgrade+Downgrade Help

Hello Devs.
I want to ask some questions about YU Yureka
1. M on stock KK , ROOT, bootloader unlocked, custom recovery cwm. I did this to backup my stock rom.
Now can i update directly to LP via ota update or do i need to flash stock recovery to install the update?
2. After updating to LP, if i want to return back to KK, I already have backed up, do i just need to flash KK 32 bit recovery and restore it back from that or need to follow some guide over there on forum?
Please clear these things.
Thank you.
