So I dropped my Nexus 4 long time ago, and the battery was giving me issues, the front facing camera disappeared, and the back cracked, so, decided to buy everything together, back cover, the battery, and the front facing camera, everything is working except my front facing camera, any ideas as what could be wrong with the phone :crying:
My Nexus 4's front facing camera broken too

My Camera app was gone when it happens and all kind of Camera applications won't works at all. I already tried using Flashlight apps too. But my flashlight didn't worked. All things of camera was not working. I know when that front facing camera won't have issue, that all things of camera is working perfectly.

My GF was listening to music on her phone and for some reason it started getting hot, REALLY hot. Now the rear camera is all blurry I'm guessing it got damaged from the heat. The front camera works fine. I also tried 2 different camera apps and they behave exactly the same.
I have the Premium Handset Protection plan but looks like there's a $130 deductible, IMO not worth it, I'd rather just buy used. What should I do? Should I go into a T-Mobile store, or should I call?
Or... the camera is dirty. Wipe the lens. happens all the time with me. usually pretty random too.
lens is not dirty

Here's one when it was working fine
Edit: Now connecting to PC doesn't work either.
Don't really know why this is happening, but the front camera gives this really weird picture when you use it.
I've attached these 2 pics taken by the front facing camera to help you guys figure out what's wrong.
I've tried rebooting it as well as a hard reboot (power button + volume up). I've also tried force-stopping the camera app, and then clearing the cache from cached processes.
It was working just fine a week ago, then all of a sudden it started acting weird.
Any and all help (no matter how stupid/trivial it may seem) would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Front Camera not working correctly
My xoom tablet (wifi version) camera, has also sudenly started to not work right.
The images look kind of like the posterized effect, but the effect is set to normal.
I´ve attached some examples.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
It works fine when HDR is off, but if it's on, I have to wait for the camera to pick a new focus target, clicking doesn't do it.

I should hope it's obvious that the box in the background isn't in focus, the foreground object is (the one that the autofocus picked up). Anyone else seeing this?
Try wiping the gallery data (yes the camera is an activity which belongs to the gallery).

Did wiping solve this ? because I tried but nothing changed and has anyone else experience this ? Because I do have this since I first bought this phone HDR manual focus is not working at most times but auto focus works just fine.

Didn't help
Has anyone the same problem because my problem still persist, is this maybe a camera sensor problem ?
My s7 edge also got this problem. Mostly night time, and lights is blurry and leaving a trail. Try open camera and it's still there. Could it be hardware problem?
Actually it might be caused by scratches on the camera lens.
I had a similar problem with my LG G4.
I have two Yotaphone 2 phones and one of them (used by my mother-in-law) has problems with the camera. Up until July this year, it was working perfectly and since then, lines appear in all the pictures taken on the rear camera (the camera on the e-ink side of the phone). This effect can be seen on the screen and if you zoom in, just gets larger.

I have tried all the options in the camera app, and the problem remains. If I switch to the front camera, that camera works well with no lines issue.
On my other Yotaphone 2, everything works perfectly with no lines issue.
What can be causing this issue and is there a fix. I have not yet tried a factory reset, but that may be necessary to make sure there are no software issues causing this. I am really hoping this can be fixed more easily.
Can anyone help?
Try downloading a different camera app is my suggestion but I think the lines will remain.
