You can easily search on the q&a section on how to reflash your phone. But if you don't know how to do that, I suggest you read a LOT before you attempt to reflash.
Your original post shows that you have absolutely NO idea about how to do anything to your phone and keep it in a working state, or what any modification implies.
If you lost knox, there is absolutely NO way to get it back. Reflashing to stock will have NO impact on the state of the knox. If the knox flag is triggered, then your knox apps have stoppped functioning and, like I said before, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to reverse that.
I really don't know why the others told you to reflash to stock. I thought it was general knowledge that once you lose knox, it cannot be reversed and you also lose the knox apps.
I know i repeated myself a couple of times, but with your kind of people, repetition is the only way to make oneself understood.
Good luck dude!

To my knowledge every Root related thread mentions, very explicitly, that rooting prevents you from using the KNOX app.
Which makes perfect sense, since KNOX is a security container meant for storing secure data. Once you root, no part of the device is truly safe from tampering.
Once the KNOX flag is 0x1, The KNOX app is disabled and can not be restored. If you want to use KNOX, I'm afraid you'll have to buy a new device. The 0x1 flag can't be reset.

I installed Knox also, and uninstalled it later without any problem.
Just log in in Knox, hit the menu button and hit uninstall.
It will uninstall Knox with every program installed with it.

I don't think so.
I gess it's two different things, the Knox app, and besides that the safety settings in the firmware Samsung made.
Even if you don't install Knox, your Knox counter will raise if you Root your phone or if you Flash it.

You might need to uncheck Knox under settings>general>security>device administrators before you can uninstall it.
I think this will only remove the interface to Knox though, as I believe the implementation is very low level.

Trying to understand more about knox before I purchase my note 3 instore tomorrow. Searched online and is the knox a security app? Do you have to activate it or is it free will? It wont let me do this. You can "uninstall" Knox and get it back to how it was before setup (knox partition removed, back to having to install it again to re-knox), but you cannot AFAICT uninstall it completely, because its setup as a device administrator. You also cannot stop it being a device admin, even if its unticked, application manager wont uninstall as its device admin.
I wouldnt mind, but the knox process (as shown by CPU timelines pro) uses 10% of CPU power 24/7, which seems a bit naff when im not even using it. Im unsure if thats 10% of the current CPU speed (which might be virtually sleeping), or 10% max...
g
yes, you can uninstall knox
Knox is a security feature which Samsung has created for Android versions 4.3 onwards,
It is a very clever mechanism, by which Samsung are hoping to grab the Mobile Device Management market from blackberry. As businesses are trying to get used to the Bring Your Own Device world we live in, there has increasingly been a call for device management, i.e that a business i.t administrator can control the data-flow and policy of all devices.
Knox, installs as a container, it is basically a second phone, with separate media, homescreens, email, apps etc, so that on your personal phone you can have a secure section for work or private matters.
It is optional to install, and to uninstall you have to go into Knox itself, hit menu, settings, about knox, uninstall.
enjoy.

You will get the Knox 0x1 flag if you don't use a save way to root the phone. It doesn't matter if you activate the Knox feature.
So first off, I am have a lot of questions that I might as well ask.
First, will rooting my Rogers Samsung Galaxy S4 I337m mess anything up with the carrier? Like, will i still be able to call and text, etc?
Secondly, can my carrier track that I have a rooted phone?
And this is the most important question, how do I actually root this phone? Most of the methods I have tried don't work because the security app "KNOX" keeps denying access for the root to happen. I have tried many ways to remove KNOX from the phone, but none of them work....So how do I actually root this phone without having KNOX shut me down?
Anyways, thanks for the help!

So ...based on the question, and the fact that this is your first post, it appears you have a fair bit of reading to get through before doing it but yes the phone does everything rooted as it did before, you just have access to the whole file system (which means you will have the ability to break things that were "roped off for your protection" before rooting)
No your carrier doesn't know or care you are rooted... unless you do break something and bring it in asking them to fix it, then they will tell you you broke it yourself tough luck. (unless of course you reverse everything back to stock first)
FIRST read all (really... read all of it) of the 2nd and 3rd thread in "AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General"
[GUIDE][INFO] The beginner's info thread (aka. the noob helper) and [HOW-TO] The ULTIMATE All-In-One Guide - I337M & MDL - MF3 - MK2
Then you can root. The "CF Auto-root" method works perfectly on all the Canadian carrier versions (they only differ in carrier bloat.), then install a custom recovery, then install a good backup utility, I suggest TiBu (which will also allow you to remove Knox).
Good luck.

Yes, I know this is my first post, and you may think I don't know much about rooting, but I have had some experience in the past. I did root my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, first time I soft bricked it, then actually got to root and stuff to work, so I have some knowledge on what I am doing.
Those two threads that you have linked me, I have looked over and learn't some stuff from them. I have also downloaded CF Auto-Root for the I337m version. I know how to work it, through using Odin and download mode, exact same way I rooted my tablet.
I just have one more question though, rooting it with odin through download mode, that bypasses KNOX and allows the root to work? Cause if I tried rooting with any program like motochopper, KNOX would block it.

OK just didn't want you to brick your phone by not really understanding Odin... It is writing to the system partition and has been known to make a mess if the wrong files are dropped in the bootloader or if a download is interrupted.
I'm afraid all I really know about KNOX is from reading about the problems with the 1.x implementation and that the latest was supposed to be the solution for BYOD in a secure enterprise...
I Odined CF Auto-Root and had no issues whatsoever... I'm pretty sure KNOX can only run inside the OS, so in download mode you're outside of where it can interfere with anything. After the root and a custom recovery the first thing I did was freeze all KNOX and "enterprise" files just in case.

Okay. Hopefully KNOX doesn't interfere with anything. I also noticed in download mode:
Product Name: SGH-I337M
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
KNOX Kernel Lock: 0x0
KNOX Warranty Void: 0x0
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x20
Write Protection: Enable
eMMC Burst Mode: Enabled
So which ones trip when I root it? I know that the 'Current Binary' will trip if I install a custom rom, but, what about the KNOX stuff? I know that the Warranty Void will then turn to '0x1' and I think the kernel lock will change too, but not 100% sure.
Also, what about Write Protection? Will that have anything to do with writing new software onto the phone and will block it?

You may want to look at the top of this page.... http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ states CF-auto root will trip Knox warranty... if your rooting, you should install a custom recovery and do a nand backup before you do anything else root without backup can have some ill side effects if you mess around with your files/apps... ie delete something that is critical.... of coruse custom recovery trips something else too I forget what it was but I am sure it's been discussed a couple times throughout the forum.... all I can say is read lots.... most times someone can get you out of a jam but I prefer not to go there in the first place.. so I read before I do.... most here will tell you it's the best way.... pay close attention to those who have messed up... good indication of what not to do....
One other thing I noticed was that there are locked boot loaders on certain devices.
So I have been wondering, does the Rogers Samsung Galaxy S4 come with a locked boot loader? Cause if it does, and I try and root my phone, there is a high chance that it will brick the device.
Hello everyone,

1. I think I need Root to delete Knox apps, don't I ?
2. Will this prevent the Knox status from showing 0x1 or is it only by software level ?
3. I prefer a method that skips the Knox counter in the first place (like TowelRoot) and not messing around (with TriangleAway for example) trying to reset what I could avoid. Also, I always prefer a cleaner method (that requires the least number of changes to the system). Besides, TriangleAway doesn't reset the Knox counter, right ?
Thanks.
Oh yh sry. Just look up thread on triangle away i think it does reset it. Deleting knox app dosent change nothing it system unless you use it. Infact deleting knox gives you more space.
Or start from scratch- delete data/cache via recovery delete and reinstall usb files on your pc, flash firmware, and try rooting again.

KNOX counter cannot be reset even by using Triangle Away. No matter how many data wipes you do or
caches you clean.
Once it it 0x1, it remains 0x1.

Yeah. But what samsung did now was, that they fixed the loophole in KNOX 2.0 OTA upgrade which geohot was using to gain root access.
Wait for a while and see if he gets another loophole to root.

Flash a lower kernel and then use towelroot and then flash back the correct kernel for your rom. Knox will be 0x0 but system status will be custom.

The famous AntaresOne that meets me. It's an honor. Knowing that I have your rom . Thank you, but I do not understand, triangle away is supposed to furnish the counter to 0? But it's not happening, yet s4 is compatible. I read everywhere that it is possible to reset the flag to Knox warranty void 0x0; I do not understand Sorry for my english
Some versions of Android available on the S4 had a bootloader that did not utilize the Knox security software. The devices with this bootloader had a counter that would show how often the device's firmware was flashed. This is the flash counter that Triangle Away refers to, and it could be reset with that app. When the new bootloader with Knox was included, the flash counter was removed. In its place was a new counter, what we call the "Knox flag". On devices where the firmware has not been altered, it would read "0x0". Devices that have a custom kernel, recovery, or ROM installed would have this new counter change to "0x1".
Unlike the earlier flash counter, the Knox flag cannot be reset by any software available to us once it has changed to "0x1". This means Triangle Away is useless if Knox is involved.

Your explanation is very clear! Thank you, you believe that one day this kind of software exist? There to be a way to with what we do today, right?
The Knox flag is an "E-fuse", located within the CPU. One person on the forum here claimed that his Knox flag was reset, but the reality is that he more than likely had his motherboard replaced. If I were Samsung that's what I would have done. Regardless, the only way to restore the Knox flag to 0x0 would be to somehow rewrite the bootloader so that the flag pointed to a different E-fuse than the one that was tripped. In short, that's not happening.

I didn't explain about flash counter (on the pre-Knox bootloader) since was already clear that with you Triangle Away didn't have success (supposed that you have root otherwise you can't use at all that app, this can only mean that you are on Knox bootloader)
Like the other user said, once we had a bootloader with flash counter that was removed on the Knox one. Until today, nobody had success into resetting it due to the eFuse used inside the SoC (once it is blown, its value can't change anymore).
A impossible (because on top of the SoC there's another IC) operation would be to phisically swap the SoC (with non-blown eFuse) from another motherboard to the one with Knox 0x1
Recompiling the bootloader (removing the fuse check) may be a good option, but Samsung doesn't give bootloader source code.

I don't think you quite understood my question... wasn't talking about Triangle Away.. i knwo and understant it is useless as the counter is eFuse wise.
I was asking if there is a replacement for the Knox program - as I am among the ones with burned eFuse.
Thanks
If I misread your question, it's likely because no one has ever asked that question before. In answer however, as far as I know, there is nothing to replace Knox.

Thank you!
I was trying to make sure my KNOX counter wasnt tripped before I ordered the services being provided by imeigurus.com I thought I could just check and return to the home screen. not the case. what do I do please help. I dont know what im doing.
I foolishly did the following:
**YOUR DEVICE CAN NOT HAVE TRIPPED KNOX*** KNOX COUNTER MUST BE 0X000
FIND THAT BY POWERING YOUR DEVICE OFF.
please take it easy on me when you reply. I now realize how STUPID it was for me to do something without knowing what I was doing in the first place.
You seem to have some issue you're not describing at all.
About knox tho all you need to do is boot the phone into bootloader mode, or download a knox checker app from play store.
Honestly unless your flashing roms and kernels or custom recovery to the phone, or if you rooted it in any way except by using the engineering version bootloader, your not going to have tripped knox. If you have tripped knox you cant untrip it. It is an actual fuse in the phone that literally blows. All the knox counter really does is check if the fuse is blown and counts the number of times unauthorised changes were made to the system.

What do you mean by you can't return to the home screen. Have you tried holding the power, home button and volume down button until the phone restarts. And what djdunn said is correct and you haven't fully explained the problem for people to fully help you.
