oh no
silly from Android
Just set Flight mode at night instead of turning off the phone. It's almost not consuming the battery.

Does _any_ smartphone do it?
Might Android _get_ this feature (i.e. is it "on the horizon")?
THANKS!
(oh, and yes I *am* a n00b... but at least I found the relevant thread to post into!)
When I had htc phone I could do it there was a option but don't know how

It's simply not possible because Android is real OS - it's like you set alarm on Windows and then turn off PC.
Like you are sleeping and don't do anything, just sleep and sleep. Expect if you want go to bathroom hehe...

Why is my battery use always showing 0%? I have tried clearing the battery.bin thingies and looking around here for a solution. This has happened on skill MIUI rooms I have used. if I missed it I apologize in advance, on a side note Mr Derek my wife and I thank you for all your work.

you have enabled the battery monitor for MIUI, correct? if not, it should be under the Battery section in the menu
I knew it was something I missed. I have a battery widget that would take me to battery use and it would always show every app zeroed. Didn't realize you had to turn it on in settings. Thanks a ton for the help and not making me feel like a total tool

no prob bro
I just got it it's charging at the moment any hints or tips for this tablet? Or any settings recommendations?

Jus run through the settings one by one and deselect anything that sounds like it might waste battery. Qslide, knock on, all nice touches but both waste that extra bit of juice and I can do without.
Enjoy
Ok thanks also what screen brightness do you have yours on?

Dude, why are you asking us? How can we know what brightness do you like? Which settings do you need? Just explore and try everything yourself.

Sound advice. I have tried daily at 50 60 70% and full. Personally I find full brightness too bright for web browsing.
Just have a good play

A he never asked that. He asked what brightness do YOU have it on. You do know people do this all the time. Just look into monitors at Hard forums. People love to know all the settings people use. People will say they get the best battery life with.. and then post.
Ok so I have it set up using nova Launcher just like on my note 3 I'm loving the tablet so far only this that's annoying me is the bar with the touch buttons at the end, as in when I'm using apps I don't get the full screen I guess it's something I will just have to get used to.

or just root and use one of the many apps. If you install the G2 xposed framwork you can make it really small. or if you install UDN Lite you can select auto hide
Do I have to root to use one of those apps?

I'm not sure if this is what you have in mind, but this app lets you adjust the watch's brightness using either your phone or the app on the watch.

Cool man. The developer has an XDA thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-wear/development/app-swapp-true-dark-wear-t2977161
He would probably appreciate any feedback.
