Hi everyone, I am not a developer, and I know this question is probably redundant, but I am wondering what is the closest you can get to stock android lollipop with the note 4 specific features. I understand roms are either based on stock android or touchwiz framework, and you have to pick one or the other, but I'm really torn, I have flashed 5.1 on both my S3 and S4 and I absolutely love it, I'm still waiting for the lollipop update from telstra for my stock note 4, but I think when it finally comes around I'm going to be disappointed that it's more touchwiz than lollipop. I guess my question is like I said before, how close can you get to stock lollipop but retain s pen, multi window, etc? Would it be possible to start out with a TW base and swap out all of the UI and apps for stock LP ones? I know I'm way oversimplifying it, I just really want the best of both worlds, I don't really want to root my note unless I can get as close as I can to stock lollipop with the note extras.

If you are not looking into rooting, I recommend Google Now Launcher. It is the most stock Android UI experience you can get on a nonnexus phone. Since it's just a launcher, you retain all your device features. If you are looking into swapping out all of the UI and apps from TW base to stock LP ones, however you will experience this error message everytime you exit out of an app: "Android.System.UI has stopped working", so I do not recommend that.

You're awnser lies amongst the rooted side flashing a tw rom that is aggressively debloated of apps even some essentials and using stock ones from google and then i guess theming the rom to look like a stock pure lollipop. I heard there are some nice alternatives for the spen usage and multiwindow i have tried some in the past on pure android on note 2 but the experience is nowhere near the stock apps from tw, regarding spen and multiwindow.

If you want to keep eveything, you will have to think about a launcher indeed. Goole Now Launcher will be the closest thing.
Google now launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.launcher
I would say when rooted, flash CM12 official, and use CM SPen addon, in combination with notebuddy for you SPen features. You will only lose the multiwindow (links down below).
Spen Addon: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tushar.cmspen2

yeah but you still lose the epic camera quality.
as much as i dislike touchwiz and like cm12 i keep running on stock rom becouse the camera quality on CM based roms is just to bad.
if only there was a way to get the camera quality on a cyanogenmod rom it would be so awesome i wouldnt even care about the spen anymore

Hi All , I am Happy being with you today
I just ask about any (completely working features ROM ) for my Galaxy S4 i9505
all the custom ROMs have a bugs , not working features , and so on !
I want any 4.4 KitKat ROM for my device with the same stock S4 camera and working features
what is your advice for me? .... thank you
You are meant to try out Roms and make your own mind up.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you
I know that no custom rom is completely come with all stock working features
but I want to give me just an ROM 4.4 KitKat with the stock Camera app
or how can I make the stock camera app works with the custom rom?
if the custom rom comes with the two camera apps (custom and stock) , I will be happy , anyway , thank you really

S4 is too young to have yet 100% stock features on any cooked ROM. For example, now I am running my old S2 with 4.3 CM10.2 and even not 100% features (sound in dock and HDMI out doesn't work, but it is not a problem form me even having got an HDMI adapter...).
As my S2, I am sure my S4 will end its days with any CMxx or similar cooked ROM, but now it is too soon.
The question is, why would prefer to loose features just to have kit kat now (I really believe we will have it before 2 or 3 month).
Lot of people like to have stock S4 camera app on CM or Kitkat rom including me. I've searched here, and there's only camera port for Google Edition 4.3 rom, but without complete feature, still can't be everyday use. I end up using stock pre-root 4.3 rom; has everything samsung advertised, better battery, more stable than CM and just born kitkat rom. I'm looking to try kitkat again if the camera work good and rom has no other issue.
the most important advice is "patience". you've got to set things into perspective: if you want kitkat, give developers some time, they can't work miracles (most of the time, that is)... pulling such a big system all together takes time, and most custom roms only started offering nightlies for the i9505... they really arent meant for people wanting things to run smoothly ...
I'm using cm 10.2 on my d800. its been kinda buggy lately with the contacts and music widget crashing. I figure I'll put lollipop on. whats the most stable bug free rom to use? I was thinking either cm 12 or stock lg g2 lollipop update. I need a stable phone. I prefer the stock lollipop look so the lg g2 lollipop update isn't my first choice.
I am exactly like you, only that I have the Lollipop Update (D800 - v30f) but I want a Stock Lollipop-Looked Rom, but at the same time I want the LG's features like QuickMemo+ and QuickRemote, so if someone know how I could have this kind of LG's features on a AOSP Rom, I will be so geatfull!

I think the stock roms for any android version are missing a lot of camera features that come with the lg roms, right?

cloudy g2 3.0 looks like the lg g3 rom. has the lg skin.
it seems like a very good option if i can't find a unskinned rom.
imo lollipop is unstable on the whole (memory leak, redraws, etc) which is why im still on cloudy kk.
You could use the aosp stock laucher on top of standard lg Lollipop. From http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/upload-aosp-launcher-apk-lollipop-please-t2944079
Don't know if that will run on the G2... But why shouldn't it?

I've been on Lollipop since day 1, I've had 0 redraws, and I don't think I have memory leak, but I'm not sure how could I test that, seeing the running apps currently I have 733 MB free RAM, System uses 583 MB and Apps use 542 MB, I don't know how good is that, but I know that my experience on Lollipop has been great, I couldn't use KitKat for a minute (at least not stock KitKat, Cloudy's ROM is way better).

Or just download Nova? But that's still not the same as running a 5.1 stock ROM, I miss some things from my old phone which was running 5.1, and I can't replace that with apps.

Just stock Lollipop (I mean LG's stock Lollipop, not AOSP-stock).
Give Tsunamical's Euphoria-OS 1.1 a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/rom-euphoria-os-1-1-t3114678
Euphoria-OS is from the same team that gave us the awesome Mahdi ROM for KitKat. Tsunamical has put a CAF-based kernel on it and done a bunch of other work. It's a fast, solid, daily driver quality ROM with lots of good features but without a lot of bloat.
My experience: stock lollipop + nova launcher set on fast + set 0.5 animations transitions and duration in developer options menu + kernel dorimanx in signature (performance profile). Rock stable super smooth and very good battery life.

I'm not sure if he is asking about Stock LG Lollipop or Stock Android. Regardless these are some good suggestions. I personally LOVE the stock LG rom. Like above, I use Nova regardless and .5 Animations.
The Verizon Stock Lollipop 39A is apparently supreme in this case, enough to warrant people porting it. Because the Verizon Variant is GSM unlocked, there isn't much hassle getting it to work on GSM international and Tmobile phones. Most of the "new" stuff Verizon lollipop brings is mostly more Material design in the dialer, messaging, email, etc. I know there is a port thread here somewhere if you look. I honestly didn't have a problem with it. It was MUCH more stable than the CM based roms. The G3 rom ports are also pretty good but buggy on the Verizon model (international G3 ported was lacking Verizon features). I always ended up back on stock.
I've tried going back to the Stock Android Lollipop but I constantly miss the small LG features of the LG rom. There are just too many cool things LG offers like the Floating notifications for Phone and Messaging, Wifi File Sharing, Keyboard, etc. These are things you can't download from the Play Store and have them intregrated like LG has it.
But no matter the base rom, I always use Nova, .5, lower DPI, and SideBar.
The only thing I really like is the CM Theme Engine to randomly swap out the system themes. But I like the white theme of the LG rom. This is the only phone I have actually stayed on the manufactures rom longer than a week; kept it for 2 years and since upgraded to the LG G4.
I had been waiting for my carrier (telstra) to release the lollipop update to my device (SM-N910G) before I rooted, I have now been updated and have rooted my phone, I'm currently still on stock recovery, everything else stock. I am pretty sure Xposed is out of the question for me being on the stock rom, I'm not really interested in installing a custom rom at this stage, is there anything else available that offers the level of customization that Xposed does that will play nice with my phone? Or am I mistaken and xposed should work with my device? I don't really want to stuff around and experiment too much like I have with other devices because I don't want to have to fix it over and over, I'm hoping others have experimented enough to tell me what works. I like the overall functionality of the device, I just wanted to change some things and add to the experience, I would like to be able to customize the Air Command for example, maybe change some status bar icons, change the dpi of some applications, make things a bit snappier, add some missing features, etc, I don't want to lose any of the baked in touchwiz functionality, any suggestions?
Xposed for touchwiz lollipop requires a deodexed ROM which you should be able to find in the development section for your SoC (snapdragon or exynos)
I saw there was an unofficial version of Xposed for touchwiz lollipop but it looked beta and unstable, any more info on that? By the way, is there any downside to a deodexed as opposed to odexed rom?
Hello everybody. Any chance for port Touchwiz from s7 to our s3? This ROM looks beautifull <3
I know kernel for touchwiz is hard to compile but we have good developers so they can try. I can pay for this rom and kernel. PRIV
First, we need working LP port of touchwiz that is funcional ;D
Hey there @LaweK,
What You are currently looking for is already available.
HyperRom -
Hands Down the best touchwiz rom for GT i9300,Im currently using it and couldnt be more satisfied.
However this rom is running on android 4.4.4, and not marshmellow, However the Android Version didnt affect me at all as it was impossible to guess that this rom is 4.4.4 due to the features and its UI, that almost completely mimicks the s7 marshmellow features.
Anyways, I Fully Recommend this Rom To Anyone who owns a Galaxy s3 and prefers the original samsung UI.

I don't like hyper-rom v6, I tested it two days and it was really buggy for me, android 4.4.4 is the past generation of android. I consider since lollipop is a different android so we need to work together to get a good lollipop or marshmallow tw rom for our device.

Well Different Opinions I guess, However HyperRom Was not at all buggy for me nor was it slow [Im also Still using it with no issues.]
Anyway There`s Also Another Touchwiz Rom Ive used Eclipse Rom Together With The Ultimate Marshmellow Mod. Just thought you should know, It is beautiful however proved to be more buggy for me.
Anyways I dont think we are to expect a Android Marshmellow Touchwiz Rom For The S3, Lets Face it This Phone is now 4 years old and we should be suprised on how much support it is still getting.
We Barely Have An Android Kitkat Touchwiz Rom, So we are to get a Lollipop Touchwiz Rom, before Marshmellow, So it Might Take Either a lot of time to happen or it may not happen at all.
Anyways CM13 and CM13.1 Is available right now that is with android marshmellow, So you can try that too if you want.

I once read that someone was porting lp 5.1.1 from a s5 rom. He said that it booted it with lots of bugs and it would not even be in alpha. I'm still searching for that forum I canĀ“t find it . I'll give you a link when I find it :fingers-crossed:
Probably it willl be very hard to port S7 TouchWiz (too RAM consuming), it might be partially ported in future but I suppose it would be slow and buggy.
Can we solve the camera problem by upgrading s3 to s7?
Recently tried my mum's S5, woah i really like the look of Android 6.0.1 Touchwiz, currently i run on Magma NX rom which i really don't like, it's slow, sluggish and laggy.
I just want a nice clean touchwiz 6.0.1 rom that's stable with camera working.
All i see on the development pages are either Pure android roms (lineageos) or touchwiz ports for N5/N8/S7/S8.
But maybe there is an fast touchwiz marshmallow rom that's complete. Like the one on the S5.
Does that exist? can someone link it to me?

I recommend just flashing stock and you can forget about malfunction or the phone chugging. There's no ROM like stock ROM.
