I played a little with the s6 using Google music and Spotify and I found the sound quality to be a little worse than the note 4 and note 3 which I loved the sound even using it straight from the headphone jack. I used my trusty shure se 215 and ath m50 and I couldn't feel the bass and the sound was not dynamic at all, almost painful to hear, adapt sound did helped a little but I'd like to know what's the take of people in the sound quality department of this awesome phone.

It's supposed to be top notch. I never owned a Note 4, but I did own a Galaxy S5 and I don't notice any real difference. Did you check to make sure you picked the "Extreme" quality option in Spotify? I sometimes forget when setting up a new phone.

So what earphones are you lot using? I'm not a fan of the in ear buds and thought Id try a iPhone earphone but the remote controls don't work, guessing because the earphones somehow know its not an iPhone?
I really likes the HTC desire earphones and I'm going to order that, hopefully the remote controls work.

Bump
using my old nexus one headphones and everything works just fine. It looks exactly like the headphones in the image but has an Android logo. btw.. there's a thread for headphones already and in there many users already stated what headphones they're using and why.
I'm using skullcandy 50/50, controls work fine except for volume control Designed for iphone (my old phone), I thinks it's due to the design of the 3.5mm jack.
Using Apollo music app and the DSP program as an equaliser - both installed with CM 10.1, sounds really good
Thanks for the contributions. I had those earphones with android icon but it was lost. Now to find that thread..

Are you looking for voice or music? Under what uses?
I LOVE my Jaybirds for listening to music at the gym and when out running but there is no way I'd use them as a regular headset for standard voice calls.

How about them skull candy headphones in the tmobile store?

I use beats tours *hides behind shield*. They have a lot of bass and great sound with this MOD , I was considering getting some Senns or the new Earpods.
Gentlemen,
My friend has an original, unrooted S4.
I am waiting for the exact model number, but I believe it's the i9500.
She mentioned that when she plays music from her phone to her car stereo, the volume is often (but not always) low, and yes, phone volume is cranked up all the way.
When this happens, she has to raise the car stereo volume considerably in order to be able to listen.
So far, she's tried two different cables. Also, she's currently driving a dealer issued loaner and observed the same issue.
I've read the S4 FAQ and performed a Search. I couldn't find anything.
Have you guys ever heard of a similar issue with the S4?
Thank you in advance.
...anyone?

but did you try to install wanam xposed and then you go to Sound and there you can change some sound things, I'll screenshot it.
I don't know if it would work but you could try, and try to download a other music player.

Sound
That's what I use and it is great (I also use DFX Player Pro).
Same here. Phone is set to level 15 and usually have the car stereo set to 30 out of max of 35. Always been like this even when I had a S2 and S3 as well.

Bluetooth speaker which is worth buying. HV-SK466BT is a small and fashionable designed Bluetooth speaker. Initially when you unwrap the box you cannot imagine how valuable this may perhaps be considering the price and it’s size.
The speaker comes with a 3.0 Bluetooth technology, this Bluetooth can be used for calling use as well, other than this for super quick and easy this phone supports NFC technology too.
The weight of this speaker is neither heavy nor very light and it’s small size allows you to carry this Bluetooth speaker anyplace you go, coming with a rubbery finish substance which gives you a good feel when you touch it plus protects it if dropped. It fell by mistake from me and was okay with no single scratch. This speaker has a good bass and extremely loud and clear sound quality which in this price range is not easy to get.
One of the best feature is the calling element, having an internal microphone it allows you to answer your phone calls too, so everyone can hear and talk. Last but not the least the battery life of this is phone is 7 to 8 hours which is more than at least what I expected.

It s a directional stereo that gives a real sound quality, not a surround noise as you usually have, a true sound (in my opinion)
this morning i ve recorded a band playing in the street, here is the sound sample, tell me what you think

It's actually surprisingly good...
If you weren't moving sound would be perfect.
This way we can hear one instrument louder then the other then its volume goes lower..
But it's more then fine for purpose we need...
Tell me one thing, please .
If I want to record video with sound, can I use it or it's only for recording audio in audio recording apps? (I hope you understood me)

well each musician was doin a sort of solo so that s why i move to each of them.
yes you can record videos using the microphone, it change the whole thing, sound is as important as picture, specialy when you do an interview.
here is an example in 4k + gimbal + stm10 at the parc

You can also use noise cancelling headphones funnily enough.
I've been trying different ROMs in an attempt to get a bass booster working. I have been using an old S3 with kitkat as a media player /sound generator. I use Relax Melodies and Bass Booster with great results. However, I can't get the bass booster on any ROM so far. I'm on WETA 7.0 right now but even Viper4Android doesn't make a difference. If it makes any difference I'm using computer speakers via the headphone jack. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you play with Viper4Android settings you can get a nice bass booster. Try A.R.I.S.E. Sound System http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709 (latest Deuteronomy 2.3.3 https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862677226) and Dolby Atmos Add-On https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767104031

But ... come on guys can we actually boost the bass while achieving better sound quality at maximum volume?
Thanks for your share!
Regardless of what app I use, what headphones I use or any settings in V4A I manipulate I don't get any improvement in bass or any sound.

Then it isn't functioning. You need to check if it is processing and then possibly go to that forum to get more help. You can boost and adjust every aspect of your device sound and it is dramatic.

You probably need to use compatible mode instead of normal.
