Hello i`ve checked dozens of disassemble videos for the phone. But i guess the sim & Sd card slot is attached to the motherboard and not easily changeable. I found this guy sells replacement parts for it. But i dont know how to put ? Is it hard ? Do i need to solder something ? How does it works ?

... is broken. It doesn't read any SD card (I checked them with my camera - they were OK). Is there any way to repair it by my own? If not, how much could repairing it cost?
BTW I'm also looking for WM5 ROM with bootloader 2.x, I will be grateful for any links. Thanks in advance.
Sorry for my poor english!
I have the same problem with my HTC Charmer,
did you solve yours?
shall I open the device fisically?
or it can be solved by a correct software/rom configuration?
I have flashed different roms.. problem stays!
I damaged mine too. You need a spard reader. Then you can exchange the readers. But you need to open the device fully and disconnect the display. That is a littlebit hard but possible.

Okay .. My HD2 has quite a problem..
No ROM (have tested different WM6.5 stock roms and a DFT-Andoird version) can detect my SD-Card in the slot, except from Magldr.
In magldr I am able to use the sd-card as massstorage and connect to my Computer running on Windows 7 ( didn't try another).
But if I navigate in magldr menu to services =>bootsettings => ad sd dir i will just be brought back to the home menu...
Is it a hardware damage or something software? What do you think...?
It's an ugly problem, because to sd card means no CWM- Android
Pleease HELP !
Thank you
ahh and in card reader or other smartphones the sd cards don't make any problems ;-)
nobody has got an idea?
or is it possible that i damaged the flex ribbon cable, while replacing my broken screen?
:cyclops:If it is the flex ribbon, this would explain why my mainboard cannot access the sd slot.
And the via USB I can connect to the SD-card in the Phone from Computer (when runs phone in maldr-massstorage mode)
Or does all the data run from SD-Slot , through the mainboard to the USB-exit ?
No hardware-freak here ? Just softies?
ohh damn ...sd slot is located on the mainboard ... -.-

Which SD card do you have? Some are incompatible with that particular part of MAGLDR (don't ask why, all I know is that my Kingston 16GB Class 4 does exactly the same thing) but will still work in USB Mass Storage, CWM, A2SD etc. SD Android when booting via WinMo (CLRCAD and HARET) works fine as well.
ahh no I got the mistake after searching like a maniac...
Look at the photo i attached in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766321&page=2
You see this contact, where the arrow points at? It was out of shape..
The ex-owner of my HD2 seems to have done strange things with his device..... It was bend to the upper edge of the main board -.-
Luckily got it before I gave up hope

Greetings to all (( My english is not my native language, So please bear with me ))
I would like to thank the forum administrators for accepting me In this community, Note that I have come here to learn from you not the other way because iam 100% newbie (( By the way, I've loved the video located in the registry ))
I have broken the sim card pins on my GALAXY S4 GT-I9500 Saudi Arabia version (( Do not ask me how ..unintentional accident ))
And ordered a new Sim Card SD Card Tray Slot Holder to replace the broken one on my device
The question is : If I change the sim card reader dose it affected the EFS/IMEI details on the device ??? Such as losing of the IMEI details
If this will actually happens, Is there a way to avoid this issue ???
Thank you in advance
Regards SALIM
efs is a partition on the internal flash memory. I don't see how a card reader change could interfere with that, but you may want to backup the efs partition anyway (it's a good idea to do so). There's a nice windows app somewhere on xda which does the backup cleanly and smoothly, just search for it. Oh, and the imei is stored on the efs partition.

Thank you for your post my friend, And like I said earlier i am 100% newbie,
The reason for my question is the (( Sim Card SD Card Tray Slot Holder )) is a separate board connected to the main motherboard of the device through a ribbon connector .
So I think there is some sort of communication between the original sim card board and the EFS partition or the IMEI # in the EFS partition, then my fear is that this communication will be lost if i change the sim card board even if I had a EFS backup

Shouldn't be a problem... The modular parts is for ease of repair... Its easier, and cheaper, to change the sim/sd card reader than to exchange the entire mother board...

If you mean the sim tray Itself, than you are right. it is cheaper but not easier for me, because this method requires desoldering and soldering with a study hands, cause i will do the repairing by myself (( not tight-fisted nor to save money but I like fixing things by myself ))
Generally, This method you provided thankfully :good: will be used if i didn't find an answer for my question in this topic
No, the sim and sd card board are a separate board to the rest...
Check out this video, especially at around the 7 minute mark - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm4f2XjQLAM
It shows that you can replace the whole part without replacing the motherboard which is where the IMEI is stored....
Was interested in how to take the S4 apart and happened upon this little gem.... Good instructions and easy to follow...

The problem is the SIM/SD card reader. Your service company didn't make a good job.
Solution: send your phone back to service company, they should fix it properly again.
