Developer Options in 5.1 missing? - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got a nexus player and updated to 5.1 LMY47D. I tried to enable developer options by pressing the build number 7 times. It says I'm a developer now but the option doesn't show up in the settings menu. I did the multiple presses again and it says I'm already a developer and still no menu option. I hard power cycled the device and still no menu option.
It should be on the bottom of setting page, correct?

Nevermind....found it. Preferences, all the way to the right. I thought it would be at the bottom as mentioned in how-tos.

Same problem here
Running Android 5.0 Build LRX21V here and there is really is no "developer options" here.
Though the system offers me to upgrade to Android Version 5.1.1
Fingers crossed it works with the devel opts after reboot...
edit: and there they are. confirmation that developer options appearing after reboot to 5.1.1

[Q] Cannot get to Service Mode menu

Hello
I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. I need unlock phone as I am moving in a few weeks and will need to use a new sim card. I have an unlock code but it is not working and I believe the reason is a while back a tried the free unlock method that has been online for a while and I was able to follow the steps fully (it didn't work to unlock my phone).
Now trying to follow the same steps again, I cannot where I enter *#0011#, choose back from the menu, then key input and enter 1. This used to bring me to the main menu but now it stays on the same page and does not change and I cannot access the main menu.
If somebody knows how to access the main menu a different way or fix this problem I would be very grateful :fingers-crossed:

Hi,
Thanks for this. I unchecked use recommended settings and picked Proxy Call Activity MAIN MENU: RilServiceModeApp (197328640) from the drop down list and then 'run with above settings choosed'
I took a screen shot of the list that opens but I'm not sure where to go from there.
These are the steps I was told to follow to fix the unlock but I can't get passed e.
Go to the Dial pad and dial *#0011#
b. Please click your MENU button (Bottom LEFT button) and click BACK on the menu that appears.
c. Please click your MENU button AGAIN and this time click KEY INPUT
d. When the Key input box appears please input the number "1" and hit OK
e. You will see a number 1 for a while, please wait until it changes into the SERVICE MENU
f. Please click [1] UMTS > [1] DEBUGGING SCREEN > [6] Phone Control > [6] Network LOCK
g. You will see 3 OPTIONS within Network LOCK
h. Please click on number [1] Perso Sha256 INFO, the screen will change slightly
i. Please hit the MENU button then when the menu pops up please carefully hit BACK to return to the previous screen
j. Next Please click on number [2] Perso Sha256 ON, the screen will change again to a one line message
k. Restart the phone on the screen by holding the power button and click RESTART

How to fix samsung s4 thats not accepting network unlock code after free unlock
So I finally got it working. So i'll post this in case it helps some else having this problem.
You need to flash an earlier version of the firmware to allow you to access the main menu in service mode
I went to this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39176955
and downloaded the odin v3.04 program and then the XXUAME2 modem from the list.
Then after installing odin I chose phone, chose the extracted .md5 file from my computer and connected my phone to the computer using the usb.
Turn the phone off then switch it on whilst simultaneously holding the volume down and home button and then use volume up to confirm.
Click start on odin and wait for a few mins until the box at the top changes to pass.
Follow the rest of the steps stated in the forum above
After the flash, follow the instructions in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=cY4LcdO2WAE
Restart the phone with a locked sim and try the unlock code now, it should work.

Knock on not working after "Device test" in hidden menu [D802]

It's been always like that.
Whenever I press "Device test" in the hidden menu, the device gets semi-stuck (not really.. because when I press the home button it exits) and I lose my knock on (both when screen on and off).
I forgot about it and pressed on it again.
My last nandroid backup is pretty old...
What should I try?
Ofc I tried the hidden menu touch firmware upgrade.. Didn't work.
CloudyG3 2.0 + Dorimanx 9.5
I know its such a common question that had already became annoying to answer, but please. I would really appriciate it.
To what is the knock on feature related to?
I tried flashing a newer Dorimanx kernel, it didn't work.
Knockcode works fine.
Even the G3tweakbox "doubletap the navbar to lock" works.
What should I try next to make the KnockOn work?
Might it be off for some reason? Where can I find it to turn it on if so? I searced all the menus and did a web search. I dont have it under "gestures".

Phone unlock won't work

I followed this guide to unlock the phone
http://www.android.gs/sim-unlock-samsung-galaxy-s4-i9505-i9500/
1. You need to launch the Service Mode on your phone; in order to do that tap “*#0011#” in the dialer of your handset.
2. The Service Mode will be displayed; now you need to tap on “menu” (left soft key) and from the dropdown menu select “back”.
3. Press the Menu button once more and this time select “Key input”.
4.. Tap on the pop-up box that will be displayed; then enter “1” and tap on “ok”.
5. You now need to go back to the Service Mode menu; for that tap on “menu” and select “back”.
6. From the Service Mode menu, this time select “[1] UMTS”.
Click to collapse
At stage 6.... there is no menu that says UMTS
It just simply takes me back to the original menu with stuff like "GSM900: Limited" etc
It takes me back to the very first menu after I dialled “*#0011#”
So.... what do I do...??
The reason I'm trying to unlock the phone is that it said, "Network not registered".... It won't let me connect to an EE network at all... so I thought maybe the solution is to unlock the phone.
Thanks
Is the sim activated? Could the imei be blocked by the carrier? If you are not bring prompted to enter a network unlock code, the phone could already be unlocked.
You should be asked to enter unlock code before yu try to unlock it.

In order for the service menu method to work, you MUST downgrade your modem to an Android 4.2.2 version first. Only then will you be able to access the appropriate menus. We have an entire thread on the topic of SIM unlocking in the General section of the forum, and mention of the modem downgrade really doesn't start showing up until posts from November, 2014. That thread has also pretty much switched to using RegionLock Away to blow away the SIM lock, as it's a more robust solution than the service menu method.
Now, will it help you regarding the EE SIM? Probably not. But it will allow you to use a SIM from any carrier.

[newbie] writing rom on SM-J100H, how to?

[ROM][SM-J100H][09-06-2021][Stable] CyanogenMod 11 MicroG For Samsung Galaxy ‏J1
Hi to all, I'm newbie with old branded SM-J100H with Android 4.4.4.
I would write rom I found in this forum to upgrade Android version.
I have no way to do this.
I've been searching for several guides on the net, none working.
I can detect device (only this) using adb.
I can't put device in recovery mode (tested several combinations of home-power-volume up bottons, none working).
I also enabled "developer options" menu, but missing "oem unlock", I've read "due to TIM operator branded phone".
Any ideas? Thanks.
for recovery mode boot into download when warning screen pop up press restart and hold recovery combination vol + home power

[Q] [help] Unable to open Download mode with unlock bootloader option

Imma need a bit of assistance here. I have been trying to get into Download (DL) mode while pressing vol up + down and plugging in the cable. But it just starts charging.
I can get into DL mode through recovery but that goesn't give me an option to unlock bootloader. Of course, OEM unlock and USB debugging are turned on. I even flashed the latest firmware A205FXXSBCVI2.
I was trying to odin flash custom recovery image which doesn't complete and on DL screen it says, Custom image (boot) blocked by OEM lock. I have unlocked a lot of phones before but I guess I never had to unlock a Samsung bootloader!
Thanks in advance.
This should work:
The following steps WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE
1. Enable Developer Options by pressing the “Build Number” option in the “Settings” app within the “About” menu
From within the Developer options menu, enable OEM unlock.
3. Power off the device, and boot it into download mode:
With the device powered off, hold Volume Up + Volume Down and connect USB cable to PC.
Now, hold down the “Volume Up” button until you see the “Unlock bootloader” screen.
Then press the “Volume Up” button once to unlock the bootloader.
7. Your device will reboot twice and erase your data, you may now unplug the USB cable from your device.
8. Run through Android Setup skipping everything you can.
9. Re-enable Development settings by clicking the “Build Number” option 7 times, in the “Settings” app within the
“About” menu, and verify that “OEM Unlock” is enabled and greyed out in the “Developer options” menu.
If you have any problems, let me know.

I'm having the same issue did you got it to work
Nope. I don't have access to that phone for the time being. But I came accross a point that we need to plug in the audio cable on new Samsung phones to get that unlock option.
Haven't tried yet though.
