SIM Unlocking Sprint Galaxy S5 G900P on Lollipop 5.0 OA6 - Sprint Galaxy S 5 General

This is a compilation of threads that I used in order to SIM unlock a Sprint Galaxy S5 G900P that came with Lollipop 5.0. I have always used the SSU.apk from this incredible thread in order to unlock my sprint Galaxy S4, S5 and Note devices. However, whenever I install the apk and try to run it on 5.0, I get an error saying that the application (SSU) stopped working or something like that and it doesn't even work.
Just to be clear, I didn't came up with this idea. This is just a compilation of different ideas that I found on XDA on different thread to accomplish this.
Disclaimer: Do this at you own risk. I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device. I can only assure you this worked for me.
Use this steps to Sim unlock you G900P from Sprint running Lollipop 5.0
1. Downgrade your ROM from Lollipop 5.0 (OA6 ) to Kitkat 4.4.2 (NE5) using this link . Yes you can do this!!!
-Remember for this step you need Odin
2. Unlock you device by Installing and running SSU.apk using this thread
At this point your device should be unlocked. If you want to go back to Lollipop OA6 proceed to step 3.
3. Download the Lollipop 5.0 ROM OA6 from here and flash it using Odin by following the same steps on point 1.
That is all. I hope this helps you guys as much as it did to me.

Ok so its sim unlocked. Does that mean you can use it with other gsm carriers?and have you?thanks

Hi guys, i just bought the S5 Sport on Ebay and intend to unlock it to use with the GSM network in NZ. Unfortunately, this device comes with android 5.0 lollipop that can't use the App SSU to unlock
I have tried to download the older android version on Sammobile but i got the error message Fused 2 > Bin 1 when i tried to downgrade from 5.0 to 4.x. Just google the this issue and find out the reason that the bootloader is locked at 5.0 version, Samsung just only allow me to go to higher firmware, not the old ones
I also have tried to root and install Custom recovery (successful) and install the custom 4.x rom. Tried exactly what the other post said ( download the one for G900p and reflash the Kernel of G860P) but the phone keep restarting (i've tried many roms on XDA, on one works)
So anyone help me to how to downgrade the android of this S5 Sport Or another method to unlock Sprint S5 sport on 5.0 please.
thank you

Same issue, and also made another post just like you. Still no answers, I guess this is a common issue for S5 Sport users

I'm still unable to unlock my Sprint Galaxy S5 for international carriers - ran SSU under 4.4.2 - phone recognized the GSM sim but no signal acquired. Going into Mobile Networks, phone is unable to find any available networks. I have selected GSM/UMTS in the Network Mode selection.

Will this work for the new G900PVPU2BOD3?

Did you try changing to GSM network? Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Prefered Network Type -> GSM/UMTS ? I am able to find the signal after doing this. Calls/Messaging works. But data is very unstable.

Yes. It works with my GSM sim in India after following the above steps. Had to manually change the network type to GSM/UMTS (from CDMA) in settings.

Can someone confirm that using an international sim in Sprint S5 that has been internationally unlocked will acquire no signal when inside the US?

I unlocked my s5 sprint sport won't work with us sim card message invalid card but when I put a different international sim card from my country don't show invalid card it says out of service that's mean all sim cards work except US sim card

Did you unlock it in 4.4.2 or in 5.0? Downgrading is not an option in the s5 sport and SSU.apk crashes in 5.0. GT tools doesn't support it and the development is discontinued at the moment. I ran all the steps of the s5 and all i need is the Sprint unlock.

Downgrade baseband
So I've been able to downgrade the baseband on a L720t to that of 4.2.2 and I was able to connect with US sim card. Has anyone tried to downgrade baseband on s5?

s5 Unlock for US sim inst available. I manage to unlock the s5 sport for outside US Only (claro) Thanks to @idone

for lollipop here is for unlock sim card s5 sprint sport for international sim card use only first downgrade your phone to kitkat 4.4.4 here the rom without downgrade your bootloader first flash this rom direct link
http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyS5/SM-G900P/SM-G900P_NI3_ROOTED_ODEXED.zip don't reboot your phone then flash SM-G860P _Ng3 _ Stock kernel her is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57001576 when you done now reboot your phone and wait don't worry about the bugs just download SUU apk and unlock your s5 sprint sport then flash back via Odin to Lollipop find the link from sammobile firmware website type SM_G860p on the firmware site your device

Hi! I spent most of the day reading your discussions and I learned a LOT (thanks!)
I have a similar case with a Samsung S5 SM-G900P from Sprint (but internationally unlocked by Sprint).
1) Background:
- I just moved to France from the USA with my Sprint Samsung S5 (SM-900P, running on Android 5.0 Lollipop)
- My service with Sprint terminated this week.
- I have purchased a French SIM card from the second largest French carrier SFR, and they confirmed activation of the line.
- I skyped Sprint from here and Sprint willingly unlocked my device for international SIM cards (GSM, etc)
2) My Issue:
- My Samsung S5 detects the presence of my new SFR sim card (it has even installed the SFR toolkit app to manage the SIM card), but it still displays "invalid SIM card"
- I try to perform a "UICC unlock" just in case (as recommended by Sprint) but it gives an error message (error 407) after initializing the app. Here is where the international service guys of Sprint just drop the ball for an ex customer.
- ((I have the APN codes and info for the SFR network, if needed)).
- First I tried factory resetting the device and tried again to UICC unlocking but it keeps popping up an error message after trying to do so. I have tried in different ways (with Sprint SIM card, with French SIM card, without SIM Card, without SD storage memory card on it) and same result.
- Then I read that I could force that with the SSU.apk app. Like others, when I try to run the app in Android 5.0 it stops.
- I read that some people downgraded to Kitkat 4.4 or less to use the SSU app. I downloaded the almost 2 GB of firmware for that and got ready for it. However, I have a Mac, so I couldn't install Odin (only for PC) to downgrade to KitKat 4.4 and use SSU.apk to force unlocking of my device (which is already unlocked for international use by Sprint... but with the issues mentioned above).
Any ideas on how can I perform this last step (letting my Samsung S5 device now that he is free!) so it stops saying "Invalid SIM card")? Any guidance to a newbie is really really appreciated

my g900p start to downgarde via odin error to fail aboot . how am i downgrade g900p?

Awesome, thanks for this!
Works great!

BOD3
Can't downgrade from BOD3, though.
Any help?

Samsung gs4 sch-970c (cricket)
Samsung has told me this phone will work either gsm or cdma. Cdma is the way cricket first sold it. It cannot be unlocked. It is cdma. It has to be flashed to a new carrier after it is rooted. The sim is locked via software. Not many codes and all the unlock codes you read about are for gsm. The ##366633# code you mention gets you to a disable or enable developer mode.
i also have the same issue. Not resolved yet. but I did find out this that might help: if i pull up a website that checks the MEID number it gives me the whole description of my phone plus an extra digit on the IMEI number. I wonder if this is why third party unlock sites cant help me
Who has unlocked cricket sch-r970c?
Same problem. Cricket said they cannot find the unlock code if the phone was never activated. So this was never activated.
I have rooted it to OptimizedCM-12-1-20151130. Is it now unlocked?
OR, who has successfully flashed a custom ROM to unlock the software lock on it?
The struggle continues...
I just repaired my USC s4 LCD digitizer and now that I am no longer a USC customer wanted to unlock it so I did some checking, if you go to US cellular they will unlock the phone for you, I got my unlock code, but they said they couldn't complete the process if the phone was rooted (Which mine is), you would have to reinstall the USC original firmware, or the latest firmware, to get it to unlock, then root it. I am doing some research now to find out if there is indeed an alternative to unlock a rooted phone...
I just left US CELLULAR where I was told nothing below the s5 could be unlocked, and the only suggestion from any one employed there was to call customer service.
you try RegionLockapp ???
I unlocked my t mobile s4 with it, i had to flash to a earlier firmware, then root, then use RegionLockapp, then re-flash whatever rom you want.

Noib questions about I337UCUFNC1

I'm new to rooting ATT phones, my wife just go a free ATT S4 I337UCUFNC1 from a friend and I want to root, convert it from ATT to T-Mobile phone then unlocking it.
The phone doesn’t have a sim yet but I'm planning on putting my wife's present T-mobile sim in there.
I'm very familiar with the T-mobile Samsung S4 version.
I've read that I need a safestrap after root?
Can I update to 4.4.4?
Can someone point me in the right direction?

To Sim unlock, flash the MF3 modem in safestrap recovery and then run regionlockaway app.
Thanks alot, I was able to boot in Safestrap Recovery but after I rebooted from that and then tried to reboot back into Recovery Safestrap FC'ed. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it but is FC'ed again, dunno what's it going on.
How do I get back into Recovery if Safestrap is FC'ing? (I'm trying to flash the MF3 modem)
NVM, Got back into recover, flashed the modem now and used Region SimLock, I took my T-Mobile sim and put it in the AT&T phone and it works.
Now I will try to convert it from AT&T to a T-Mobile Phone using : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/convert-i337-to-m919-wifi-caling-t2896719
Quick Question
If I use this method to convert from a AT&T to T-Mobile will I loose the Unlock Sim?
Would I be able to use Region SimLock again with the being updated to 4.4.4?
Got everything going... completed!
Thanks!

Sprint Note 4 got network locked after updating to 6.0.1

I was using unlocked sprint note 4 i.e., 910P in India with lollipop 5.1.1 firmware. I downloaded and installed stock N910PVPU4DPC1 6.0.1 firmware and now my mobile doesn't have any signal. I selected GSM/UMTS mode in network and manually search for the network but its not working. Any way to fix this??
Thank you.
The current csc code is XAS and as far as I remember in 5.1.1 formware I was using it was CHN. So will that have any impact??
Atleast somebody please tell me that how will I know that whether the problem is carrier locked or something else. Because when I insert the SIM it won't say anything like invalid SIM or SIM card rejected. I searched manually for the signal and it just keeps saying " registering on network".

AT&T phones are network locked. Not region locked. I used my S4 (with roaming on) in UK, Canada, Penama, Korea, Thailand where AT&T local network is available. To use local network or other network, your phone need to be network (sim) unlocked.

I am an AT&T user for 20 years and AT&T always deny to give me the network unlock code. They do provide the network unlock code for the iphone users if they the phone was already paid off (after 2 years contract).
When I asked the network unlock code for my previous AT&T phones, (nokia, LG, HTC) AT&T told me to use the AT&T roaming network and they put me on the worldwide roaming program.
When I tried to unlock my S4 i337, AT&T asked me to go to a link for the unlock instruction but S4 was not listed in there. AT& T told me that if the phone is not listed they could not provide the unlock code.
I end up using cellunlocker.net for all my phones network unlocking. It cost about US$ 30.00 .
You can try to request unlock code from AT&T first at www.att.com. Explain to them about your situation. They might help you. If they denied, just use the paid service like I did.
If AT&T doesn't provide a free unlock code, try ebay.

Flashing international Firmware

Hello everyone,
yesterday, a family member gifted me an s7 from the USA (SM-G930P). He bought the phone off SPRINT as a SPRINT unlocked version, and, of course, because I live in Europe and want to use the phone with a European SIM card I have the "hands free activation" mark that is sitting on the top left edge of the display. I also noticed some changes, for example the "mobile data" toggle is nowhere to be found and also I don't have the options to choose the network mode (2G/3G/4G). I love the phone and I also would like to keep using it, I only need some answers from you guys.
My first question is, if the phone will actually let me use 4G network with my European SIM card, or will I be limited to 3G?
My second question is, If I can flash an international firmware for another carrier and another country on the phone, and if so, will I have the advantages of that firmware, like the Mobile Data Toggle??
Thank you very much for your answers.
If you install the 'Network' app you might be able to change the network type.
In general you should be able to use an unlocked P variant with a foreign SIM but you may have to activate with a Sprint SIM first.
You can't flash the international version since it's Exynos and the P version is Qualcomm CPU.
I am not sure if this model has Samsung region lock which is another thing to consider.
If I was you I would try to flash the U firmware (US unlocked) as it has the most support for international 4G bands among the Qualcomm US models. It also doesn't have all of the Sprint bloatware on it.

Thank you for your reply. I am currently using the European Sim from my carrier and I have no problems with it. I managed to get rid of the Bloatware by using Package Disabler Pro, but it still sits there somewhere on my phone. So far, the phone is working very well and other than the bloat sitting on my memory and the lack of LTE, I have no complaints.
Can you tell me if someone has tried to flash the U firmware on a P model with success?

I had bought an unlocked Sprint galaxy S7 (930P) off ebay which died on me. Got it repaired from the service center and they sent me a locked device instead. The phone is currently on Software Version - G930PVPS4BQC1 and the hardware revision is Rev 0.6. I'll be using the phone in India and have a few questions.
1. I need to get this SIM unlocked from a service online. Does anyone know of a reliable place to do so?
2. If I flash the U Rom on it after unlocking it, will I lose the unlock? (I don't mind downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow)
3. Should I unlock first then flash the ROM or flash the ROM first and then try to get it unlocked?
4. Will flashing the ROM directly unlock the phone itself?
Please advise.
...
you could try gsm zambia to unlock your phone it works i tried it myself a few days ago, also after my phone got unlocked i flash the U firmware/rom and the unlocked remained. so you should unlock your device first then flash the U firmware :good:
PS. if you one nougat better to downgrade if you can do marshmallow so when you wont have any issues flashing to U firmware. :cool
