I am on Cognition 1.5.1 with JKay's v.10.1 theme. It all started yesterday. I can't seem to receive any updates and the notifications as well. I've turned on update notifications, mind you. I also can't seem to download anything at all. The progress bar would just be stuck on 'downloading' for the whole time.
I've tried clearing data, uninstalling updates, using 3G or wireless but to no avail.
I have a friend who is on GingerMOD Vanilla v0.4b and he is having the same problem as well
Anyone having this issue as well? Do you reckon it is Google's issue?

EDIT: Title should read Market 3.1.5 not receiving updates.
Not uncommon for this to be Google's fault, but I've managed to download a couple of things just fine in the last 24 hours.
Update notifications are pretty useless, I never seem to get them until I actually open the Market app by which time I already know there's updates.
Do you have issues if you try downloading an app you've never had installed before?

You're not the only one, version 3.1.3 was buggy as hell, 3.1.5 a lil better, but still takes ages to load installed apps on phone's data, shows updates when there's none, hangs when trying to update or download new apps. Strange thing is market works fine if i access apps from appbrain market app, so it's definetely a problem in the google market app as downloads start and work fine if redirected from other apps.
Update: All is good for now. I can finally download apps again. Google's problem it is! Cheers.

Hi,
When i used firefox this morning, avast warned me about a malware... I removed and installed again firefox, but there is still the malware. After a scan, avast is showing me about 20 apps and files infected... Is it some kind of false positive, or is it a real malware ? I don't know what to do... Thanks for help

Its avast problem. I'm on S3 and Avast just showed me 30 malwares "Android:FakeInst-EY"
Avast Blog has this post, I suppose this is related to this:
Block fake apps
avast! Free Mobile Security blocks fake apps and our new signature targeting protects you against
malware distributed with them. Our popular anti-virus/anti-theft app for Android stops downloads of fake apps and games, so you won’t be duped.
“All of these apps use multiple advert services, steal your personal data and they even are hidden under different creators. But don’t worry. Avast detects all of the mentioned applications as Android:FakeInst-DL, and urls of fake searchers are blocked also,” said Chytrý.

Having the same issue. Avast posting that gmail is a trojan, which seems unlikely.
Looks like avast is really messing this one up this time!
Getting Android:FakeInst-EY [Trj] on WhatsApp, Ingress, Norton Utilities (lol), + a couple others as well
Thanks for confirming my suspicions, I didn't really want to wipe my device
Just to add, this happened to me this morning as well. 8 apps infected including Gmail. It seems this is on Avast.
Thanks everyone ! I have it on gmail too, and on Ingress. I checked with Lookout, and nothing bad happened ! Avast, u suck...

It's look like an avast! problem. You need refresh the virus definition to 20130321-01.
Info on: forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=118778.0
It's a problem with Avast virus signature DB

About Android:FakeInst-EY
« on: Today at 09:30:01 AM »
Hi everyone,
it seems that this false positive detection somehow got through our systems to everyone. I'm sorry for that. Don't worry though, there should be a virus definitions update soon that will remove this detection. I'm going to reroute all topics to this one and lock them so everyone knows what's happening. I'll post here when the update is out so everyone can do a manual update of their definitions to fix this (or you can, of course, wait for the automatic update to happen, but manual will most probably be faster in this case).

Happening to myself and my wife. Same malware identified in multiple applications (Google Gmail, Amazon Kindle)
Yup, same here. Avast reporting Gmail & Firefox as malware.
Same issue. Whatsapp and avocado are reported. Seems something wrong with avast. Considering to uninstall it

From the avast forum link:
"the latest update should be version 130320-01. In case of user apps, you can run apps scan which should clear the detections. In case of system apps, running the apps should clear the detections (that applies for user apps as well, but it should be faster to just run the apps scan)."
I just went into avast and updated the app to 130320-01. It took a few times hitting the update button before it actually updated avast, but it finally did. Afterwards, I ran a virus scan on all my apps, and it came back clean. Problem solved.

The thing I find curious is I updated Gmail on both my phone & tablet at the same time. Phone update went fine with no detection. Tablet popped up the FakeInst:EY detection during Gmail install so thought maybe definition file wasn't up to date (or EVO3D had a newer def file). But both devices are running v130321-01 which is supposed to have the fix (?).
Rescanning both devices, EVO3D comes up clean but tablet now detects 4 apps w/malware! Have tried updating but says this is the latest version out there. As said, will wait for the next update after 130321-01 and see if it clears. Just odd that have two devices with same versions of Gmail & Avast (and updates/defs) and two different results!
Update: No new updates to avast, but reran scans a second time on both a second time 5 minutes later and this time both came up clean. How can that be? I guess most importantly, both are clear again though worries me when one "detects" (even w/false positive) while other doesn't with what appears to be same environment!
I got the same warning today for a few apps, i had already deleted Firefox....
I just updated Avast as said in this treat and no warnings anymore Time to reinstall Firefox

I have the same issue with the BBC iPlayer app. It has arisen very recently. No idea how to fix this. I suspect an update might be needed (for the M3 not the app). This is the only android I've had where most apps are flagged up as not being optimised for this device.

it was weird, If go into the bootloader I cannot get past an old EMUI update. that tries to load and crashes. However my Pad was not loading 3 or 4 Apps and all of a sudden it straighten itself out and the problem stopped. I really feel there are no really good Android Pad and unfortunately I may be headed to an IPAD when this Bricks.
Had the same issue and saw a story on Android Authority about problems with Google Play services and Huawei. Followed instructions for a beta version of Google Play services, installed and this fixed my issues with apps not loading.

Hello. In last few days*I have a problem with lag and fluidity that occur occasionally. Example - the phone works perfect, fluidly and fast, and then a lag problem occurs and the phone slows down. So when I scrolling something, animations become very slow. It's not fluid, clear and fast, it's lagging, it's work very slow. That problem takes a minute, sometimes less of minute, and then the phone returns to normal with fast and fluid animations, work perfect, but after a while time, the lagging and slow work returns for a minute and gone, and it's been that way all day in the circle. What is problem? Do anyone have solution or all I can do is to wait new update with hope that new update will solve this problem? Thanks!*

I'm on 11.0.5.0 as well and device is running really well but then when I installed it, I formatted the device as I was coming from a custom rom. i stayed on this update as it was working really well even though havocOS, the rom i used for a long time, has released new update.
Same problem on xiaomi.eu 11.0.4...mostly happening on direct sunlight. Nothing helps, maybe changing color scheme....
Laggy mi 9t

Yes, exactly thay. That's very annoying, and still no new update to fix this problem. Send it to developers in settings > feedback. If they see more reports with the same problem, they may be able to fix the problem faster. I already sent.

Where do you disable and uninstall app vault?
Can't find app vault in my installed apps, but in play store I can uninstall updates but not deactivate the app
Problem is probably in newest update, so I think is enough to uninstall any updates from app Vault, and the phone will work perfect without this problem with lag and slow work. I disabled app in settings > apps > manage apps, find Vault and disable, clear all data and updates from app. You can delete Vault with Fastboot Tool on PC if you want

on my phone it is not possible to disable it. i haven´t rooted my phone. how did you manage to disable it?
Couldn't disable it, too. Just uninstalled updates and disabled automatic updates so that it won't download the bad version again. Works for now
I have a solution

the name of the application changes according to the language of each, the word vault is translated infact, go to the management of the applications, and scroll through all the applications, be careful to the icon of this application that you have already seen on the play store, so that you can uninstall it.
Today this started happening to me. I'm on 11.0.5 Global, stock and not rooted. I had 11.0.5 for about a week, don't understand why this started happening now. I uninstalled updates of App Vault and it looks like it runs smooth now.
I'm still getting lag even after uninstalling App Vault updates. It was good until today.
Just look for "App Vault" in my apps on Google Playstore and uninstall it from there. Can't say the problems related to 11.0.5.0 are completely resolved but uninstalling app vault seems to have given the phone some breather.
EDIT: No major difference, home screen lag is back despite removing app vault.
EDIT: Updating all the installed apps have fixed the lag issue. It was definitely related to incompatibility with one of the apps that were pending updates on Playstore since installing 11.0.5.0 update. It's worth noting that worse lag was triggered after I received Xiaomi's browser update today.

Ever since I bought this phone new in 2018 I've been extremely disappointed with it's performance. Lately I've been experiencing some extreme graphical glitching and lagging using the Amazon app. I just decided to freeze the amazon app. I recently did the thermal paste mod and noticed some slight Improvement. However after freezing Amazon I feel like I have a brand new phone. Has anyone else experienced problems with the Amazon app on the LG v20. I'm from the USA.
I'm attaching some screenshots. The App basically just flickers between various pictures. Or worse stays on the first picture. I edited\blurred my name and address.
I've used the Amazon shopping app in the US on my US996USC rooted with dirty santa and supersu since sometime in 2017 without issue. My wife has a VS995 (Verizon) rooted via dirty santa and magisk and has the Amazon app working without complaint (if an issue was there I'm sure I would hear all about it). What version of the V20 do you have?
Maybe some of the stock software on your version of V20 is conflicting with the Amazon app. Do you get the same slowdown / flicker if accessing Amazon via Chrome,Firefox, etc? Or maybe just force shutdown the Amazon app when not using it to obtian the performance benefits.
Also I deleted Facebook and a number of other stock applications I do not use (easy when rooted, somewhat harder without). Also I use greenify (works on unrooted phones) to cause most apps to sleep when I am not using them. Maybe one or the other might also help.
No problems on my side, either. OP, I noticed that you are using the Second Screen Status Bar mod and are hiding the regular status bar. Do you think the Amazon app may be clashing with that somehow?

If anybody knows or adress This isuue, please let us know... Greetings from Medellín, Colombia.

Did you find out the cause for this? I have the same problem with the Amazon app but sometimes it happens elsewhere too. I don't have a v20 but running stock Oreo (8.0} on my axon 7.
The furthest I've gotten to fix it temporally is by choosing my address in Amazon and changing it back again. It seems like it's something to do with the address pop up message that causes the problem for me.

There is a bug in the latest version of chrome and web view that makes the screen flicker on some apps. To fix this you need to disable chrome and enable chrome and check do not auto update in the play store.
There is another fix you have to install the updated graphics driver. This driver is for oreo only lgv20, after you flash in twrp you must wipe dalvik cache. You must have root to be able to install the updated GPU drivers.
