hey guys , is there some application out there that can do such a job ? i own an xperia neo and now starting to regret that i didn't get the play , because i can't play majority of onlive games because most of them needs a gamepad to work , so what if an application could some how emulate the input of the play's gamepad for us (non play users) to actually enjoy onlive service as well , i know nothing like hardware buttons but at least we could get a taste of the 'gamepad' only games on our devices as well
thanks.....
You know this app called Sixaxis controller wich lets you use a PS3 controller to play allmost every touchscreen game? If not here is the market link:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&hl=de
If someone would make a similar app for the Xperia Play we could play not optimized games... also it could ab touchpad support to every emulator.
im really interested in actually buying an xperia play (i have a g2x now) and i thought of this too! because before buying i wanted to make sure those touch sensitive "analog sticks" would work with the emulator recognizing the input method. but it didnt really make sense since that it would since its not an actual stick. we could message the people who made sixaxis controller.
I texted the Dev od the sixaxis app and he maybe will works on it. I alredy did sometests for so its very promesing.

+1 this would be cool
I have a better idea: use the xper ia play with a pc to use as a pc controller, in order to play call of duty, halo, etc... With xperia play

There is already an app like that called "app.pcon".
It needs a wifi network to function though. Bluetooth got ditched. Analogue (touchpad thing on XPlay) doesn't work but it basically makes your XPlay as a controller for the PC.
Hope this helps.

if you think that is a better ide then your brain must be backwards better means a improvement lol not worse. xperia play controls are crap tbh the sticks are really annoying and i wud prefer K+M over controller for most games on computer especifally COD
Because the maker of DroidMote also made a Xeria PLAY client app, I've been suggesting this in the thread for the past few days (instead of remote controlling another device with an Xperia PLAY, combine the client and remote to support unoptimized titled on the Xperia PLAY).

I hope this happens. Thanks for posting this suggestion - i did not even know that the above app was marrying the touchscreen and physical ps3 controller - i wish it worked with the tablets without requiring root. Sony tablet s works with ps3 controller natively so maybe the developer could make it work for screen mapping too.

Hi mojousers,
I just wanted to let you know about this page, where you can find android games that work with a gamepad controller:
http://androidgamepadgames.com/
Have fun!
I tried out mupen64 and it was pretty good, bit buggy. PPSSPP was alright. Retroarch crashes for me with Lolirock. Just wondering what you guys use to play games on it.
Been using paid version of Mupen with an original XBOX controller.. worked beautifully
Quickly tested Retroarch and worked fine for SNES games, hopefully it will be updated so it shows up on the main screen
Using stock rooted 5.1.1 Android TV on Nexus Player
snes9x and mupan, both work well. I am hopeful that someone writes a nice EMU interface for AndroidTV, that rivals my friends RetroPI.
For the Shield, I'm using FPse for Android, which has been great to be honest. I love the fact that it also looks for the game images too. Even able to use multiplayer with Crash Team Racing and two controllers.
Np
Hi, I use fpse for ps1 games, works very good. Md.emu as has the best controller setup I can find for multiplayer use and speccy. All in the game store official now
Has anyone been able to install dolphin emulator yet?
I cant i think Its because Its developed for arm64 and our device is x64?
Ps i tried Some apks without success from here: https://buildbot.dolphin-emu.org/builders/release-android
M.A.M.E.
Anyone have any luck running mame emulator on nexus player? I havent had Much luck. When I use Mame4droid most of the roms will load with a black screen but i can hear the audio. This one works on most of my other android devices.
thanks..........
The .emu emulators by Robert Broglia are the best ones available for older systems like the NES, GBC and GBA along with SNES9X EX+. For the Sony PlayStation and PSP, I recommend ePSXe and PPSSPP.
What about Sega Genesis/CD/32X stuff?
MD.emu, which is also developed by Robert Broglia, emulates the Sega consoles quite well.
Dreamcast emulator " reicast " works now on x86 systems and of course on Nexus Player. Nexus Player gamepad was recognized. You must use the debug build of this app, not the outdated Play Store app.
https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-why-there-isn-t-the-x86-64-recompiler-in-dolphin-mobile
This should be an explanation why dolphin (wii and gamecube) doesnt work on our device yet
Ps what version of ppsspp Do you guys use? I can launch it but when i start a game it doesnt work. (and what games Do work?)
Hi there how did you get this to work, been trying for days with no luck.what emulator and files did you use and where you downloaded it from, thanks
Hey guys, I have robert's emulators on my nexus player , but I'm getting bad scrolling, more so on the nes and snes, not so bad on the sega side of things. The sound hick-ups randomly on the nes emulator, is anyone else having this? I didn't have this problem with the ouya which is less powered? Just wondering is it a Marsh mellow problem etc?

What emulators have you tried?
So I've tried Retroarch, ePSXe, and a few free emulators on GAPPS. They all seem to have the same problem. Either the joysticks won't work at all, or when they do, the right joystick can only be used at an angle in some games. This is especially frustrating if you're trying to play a game like Ape Escape where the right analog is used to attack or use the net. Any good solutions, or good emulators that let you properly map the joysticks the way you can with say the Dolphin emulator?
Have you tried different Joycons? I have tried a few emulators myself for psx games and retroarch had the best joystick settings. I can play ape escape fine when i tweak some of the joystick settings
