Good day! I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) LTE Version. Well, this happened after surfing the internet and put my phone aside, and when I come back, the screen goes black, nothing more. However, the illuminated LED buttons, and notification LED were all still working, just that the LCD doesn't have its display. What would be the problem?

Hello I've owned the s4 since June and today I noticed that when i watch videos in full screen i can see the status bar impressed on the screen! i can't see numbers but just the line of the status bar. I know that I can claim the warranty but if this is an issue with amoled screens who says it won't happen again? Anyway I'm using a very low brightness and a Google edition rom so that part of the screen is always black.
It will happen again on every amoled screen for sure. There is some excess of blue light from screen that diminish during usage. Top bar is black so this excess remains stronger in that area and it looks a little blueish. It's not burn in, more like under-burn
Snapdragon Galaxy S4
It is a common issue of AMOLED, my GS4 has the same issue just after 2 months.

Click to collapse
Install apex launcher and use swipe down (or any other gesture) to hide notification bar
the possibility of screen burn is one of amoleds weaknesses. had the same problem with my old S2 :crying:
fortunately not yet with the S4.
first read about it here:

That's why Samsung has set the notifications bar to grey/transparent to prevent burn in.
Your Google edition rom has a completely black notifications panel.
Had it on my Note. They replaced the screen three times and it kept coming back.
Same with me s4 now.
So basically there's nothing I can do but send it back and see the problem come back again:angel:
Is there a way for google edition roms to have a transparent status bar?
Hello
I do have a problem with my Galaxy S4 GT-9500, the screen is black and when I turned the phone on, I just hear the sounds (Notifications, calls ...) But the screen is still black.
Any solutions ??
Hi guys, I noticed that when I turn on the screen in a low light environment, it has a fade before the screen completely turn on, like a fade effect. I did some tries and this happen only in low light condition. Is this normal?

Hi
The last Samsung phone I had was a note 3,after a couple of months very light use it inexplicably developed a black screen,it still had full sound, hardware button lights still worked,it still vibrated and the blue notification light was still present, the screen was just black though.
I wouldn't mind if I'd dropped it or something, but I'm ocd with my tech, and the phone had hardly been used...yet the screen problem happened,I swore I'd never get another Samsung.
But....I do like the look of the s7 edge lol,so I'm wondering if there are any reported problems like black screen?
Thanks for any advice given.
Hey guys, has anyone else experienced this and if so, found a solution? Whenever I turn the screen off on my phone, the blue led comes on solid after a couple of seconds and remains on forever. No notifications of any kind. Non-rooted Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge U.S. unlocked version SM-G935U with stock Oreo running on Verizon. Of course I can turn off the led in settings to get rid of it, but I need the normal led notifications. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
