Hello everyone,
Today i bought a Samsung Galaxy S5. So far i'm happy with it, but i noticed that the camera (hardware lens) is a bit oblique when the cover is put on.
Is it a common problem with the production of this phone, and do you users have it as well?
Thanks in advance,
KeitaSuminoe69
Never saw that issue.
Remove the small piece of plastic film with hole in center that covers the camera lens.

Hi,
Yesterday I noticed that that camera as a problem with black dots in all photos and videos. Now there are no spots on the back camera glass or anything.
I am attaching photos for your viewing pleasure
Can somebody please identify the problem with it. Is the camera lens it self damaged or some particles got underneath the glass cover that I can't see or is it a software problem. Also is there a way to take off the glass cover without opening the phone so I can clean the camera lens?
Please help me out guys, this is really very disappointing.
anyone ?. .
Send it to service center.. I had this issue once and it is not dirt cause i tried too clean it out too by opening it..
I got this from abroad its warranty isn't valid where I am now. Any other solutions ?
somebody please help, This is really annoying.
I have the same problem too, mine has 2 big blurry dots It is annoying when I take pictures in high lighted places, in the low light environment it doesn't show up.
Is there any way to open the lens to clean it?
same problem here, seems like some kind of dust got in the lens part, im going to watch some videos of ffc mods to see if it is possible to clean the camera lens.
Edit:
Found the solution, seems like the lens is scratched or something, doing a ffc mod will fix it as the ffc is attached to the 5mp camera, just buy a i9k camera from ebay and mod it.
@AkiraRyu good luck and let us know what happens, Also do see if its possible to lift the glass without opening the phone. Some pictures would greatly help.
I made small dots on the the camera glass to see if they gave the same result but any thing on the glass comes up very blurry on the picture. This definitely is something on the lens it self but its also highly unlikely that its a scratch maybe dust or maybe somethings wrong with the camera. If only there was a way to lift the glass without opening the mobile phone.
I have dust in my I9000 front camera...is there a way to open the phone and clean it?

yes, its quiet easy , i opened to try to clean it yesterday( i think vibrants and galaxy s interational are the same in the back).
First watch some front facing camera mods videos in youtube (ffc vibrant mod) to see how to open it up, you only need to get the 7 screws out and take out the plastic plate , REMEMBER to pull off the microsd card and the gsm/3g chip!.
if cleaning the lens doesn't work (like my case) you will have to buy a camera replacement, i recommend the i9000 camera so you also get a ffc. it costs in ebay 24USD (dont know the shiping to US as i live in another country) it comes with a plastic thing to remove the plastic plate easy and 2 screw drivers.

Good and bad news:
Opening is really easy, used my fingernails to open the plastic plate, after you get the plastic plate(not the back cober) the plastic protecting the lens also comes off, i cleaned it (A LOT) and the violet dot thing was still there.
there are 2 solutions... 3, first do nothing and keep the camera as it is(no way!) , second buy a vibrant camera replacement , or third (and best) buy a i9000 camera replacement.
In the third case you also get a front facing camera because the 5mpx camera and the ffc are connected, the look petty much like this:
androidsfinest .com /wp-content/uploads/2010/09/i9000s-camera-close-up-150x150.jpg
in the vibrant the ffc camera is cut off the 5mp camera and the place where the ffc goes is painted in black. the cameras are the same, lot of users on xda have moded their vibrants, search on youtube for guides on how to do it
i recommend : FIRST make sure to pull off the gsm chip and the microsd card (if you use one), use a ordered and clean place to do it, get something where to put the screws( lost one because i chose a bad place to put them).
Still waiting for a solution :s. I don't wanna open my new phone takes away all its glory.
Hi all..
I recently purchased a used Galaxy SIV from someone and once I got home and took a snap with the phone, I noticed a "blurred speck" on all pictures on the same location.
I believe a speck of dust might have somehow gotten onto the lens and was wondering if anyone knows of a manual online on how to clean it.
I've tried using compressed air and wiping the lens with a lens cloth but neither resolved it.
I found a video online for cleaning the lens for the S3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuqQD3AKnds but cant seem to find something for the S4.
Any suggestions?
Make sure the plastic film is not still on it. I know there is a small circle of film the same size as the lens

Dang, I read this and then removed mine! Ha! But there is a hole in the plastic I removed so I guess it really wasn't causing a problem.
I have recently bought my new galaxy grand 2 on 1st june 2014, but when first time i opened my camera it was too blurry, its camera display even the pictures and video was so blurry and still is.. I did removed the plastic cover from camera lens and flash. will it come in warranty? cause it looks like its a manufacturing fault. I had read in samsung warranty that it does not cover normal wear and tear of camera lens, but it got bad camera since the day i purchased it, it does not look like 8mp camera at all.
Check your settings in camera settings.. make sure focus is infinite and not set to macro...
Make sure you touch on screen to focus on that part

make sure that you have removed transparent cover on your camera's lens..
I could not find macro in camera settings, there was no such option.
yes i had removed the plastic cover from camera lens but no use. Still that blurry display n pictures n videos .. will it be under warranty or not? cause samsung's warranty does not cover normal wear and tear of camera lens. but this is not a wear and tear. The camera is blurry since the day i opened my phone from the box.

YES, it will be covered under warranty. An often overlooked issue other than settinh=gs is finger prints on the camera glass, leading to fuzzy pics. please check that as well.

Hello friends,
So I have been using my note 4 for almost 10 days now and ever since day 1 I noticed that the camera is so distorted, even with good lighting conditions, Also the focus circle keeps coming and going on it's own...is there a focus problem?? Also there are so many camera settings that are missing like Landscape mode, Night mode...etc etc.
My note 4 is the SM-9I0C Model.
Thanks in advance.
did you remove the 2 plastic sheets on the lens ? scratch it with your fingernail.
if they are gone then replace the note. bad camera probably.

Landscape mode and night mode I believe come on automatically depending on the conditions when you take the picture.
As for focus circle, that's probably continuous auto focus.
TWO plastic protection films on the camera lens ?
Sure ?
I found just one; the one with the circular hole in the middle.
Shall I try scraping off the lens glass ?

Ok thanks for the info Jonathan.
two. one flat plastic covering the whole lens and one plastic with a hole in the middle.
Maintenance Issue *Bleh*
Feel free to call the Samsung customer help center, they may help you bring it in for repair by describing them your problem :fingers-crossed:

if there are two of them how can i get the second one off?! I tried to peel of something that looks like it's plastic protector with my nail but only my nail peeled off
In the camera app, next to the shutter button, there is a button for modes. In the modes list, you can download sport mode from the play store. That mode reduces the auto focus.

i peeled the hole one off by putting my finger in the middle and scraping outwards. peeled the non hole one off with my fingernail at the edge of the lens peeling upward.
Hi, I wonder if someone could help me... I wanted to download additional mode for the camera, Sports Shot, however it requires signing into Samsung account and that seems to be a problem. Maybe because I'm rooted? I have tried defrosting all apps related to Knox but it did not help. I have even tried to reset my Samsung account password and still receiving "processing failed" error when signing into the account. Does anyone know what to do to be able to download it? Or perhaps, does anybody have the app/mode itself?
Edit: all sorted - if you have a same problem, try the following:
go to https://account.samsung.com and complete all of your details, log out and all should work again, did for me
Hmmm...
It FEELS like there's something more you can peel off. But I'm not sure if that's a) possible to peel off, and b) if it's meant to be peeled off. Maybe a kind of glass protection.
Wouldn't make too much sense stacking two protective foils at once on the lens.
As my photos taken with the Note 4 turn out to real great, I don't wish to change anything.
But of course I am tempted to trying to peel off that additional layer, if it's possible at all. - But we know how it is: Once removed, you just cannot undo it 100 %.
replace your phone while you can if your camera focus is not working. ( if that what you mean ). because I have the same issue and if you surfed the internet you will find some guys suffering from this issue,,

nope!if there is something to peel off it just doesn't want to be peeled off i only was able to peel off the hole one..i don't know maybe it was a second one non hole only on your note or in some variants or just i don't know
had the same issue, had to have the device replaced.
no matter what I did it wouldnt focus on anything more than 3-4 ft away and focus was slow.
Hi recently just got water damage and everything appears to be working except the front camera has water in the actual lens and wide angle back camera, was wondering where about can i source these two parts that deliver to Australia

The lens is available online. Just Google search for it.
As for the camera module its self, I have not seen it yet.
