N910F - Android 5.0.1 (Germany, Vodafone) - No RAW Support? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
finally i've got the update to 5.0.1 for my VF-device in Germany. But FV-5 camera keeps on telling me, that RAW capture is not supported. I thought this was an os-issue for android 4.x.?!
Is there any possibility to enable RAW capture for the Note 4 (N910F) with 5.x?

Raw
Hi,
Guess that's up to Samsung, let's hope they'll be faster this time. The s6 has the needed camera 2 api, hope note 4 will get an update.
We're all waiting

No, there's no way and I doubt Samsung will ever introduce it on the Note 4.

Shoot RAW

Hi there,
As the Camera2 API isn't in the last release of lollipop for the note for (I own the F - European version of it), I was wondering if it was possible to allow Raw (DNG) shooting with a custom ROM or anything else... What do you think ?
Thanks !

I think that no at this moment ......I have N910F too, I swapped from N910C before a 2 days but I am very disapointed with camera on F version. There is a too much noise ....photos from C version are sharper.
I sell my Exynos variant due to CM12 possibility on SnapDragon.
AFAIK the n910f and the n910c share exactly the same sensor. So there shouldn't be any difference. Right on your camera's glass Samsung usually put a little piece of flake which you might want to peel off. Maybe that's what makes your shots blurry. Other than that, it might be software settings (or post-processing in case you are on a different version). But the shots should be identical. Cheer on, at least the Snap805 is the better chipset. This big.LITTLE farce is a joke and on the development side you know Samsung will hold their source codes for months before making them publicly available. I have the n910c and it's not that great.

Looking at the Samsung's track record, you won't be getting Galaxy S6 features until at least 8-12 months has past from the Galaxy S6 release. Eventually, yes you will be getting some features from the S6 just like the note 3 received an update with KNOX 2.0 and Download Booster from the S5.

Note 3 (SM-N9005): How to enable camera raw support?

Hi there!
I have an Note 3 9005 and upgraded to the last Stock Rom (Android 5.0). Lollipop should contain the ability to use camera raw support, but it seems that Samsung hasn't implemented raw into this ROM.
Is there a possibility to flash something to enable camera raw on my Note 3?
Thanks for your help,
Dirk
Only if the device supports it, Not sure though.
I believe the s6 is the only samsung phone that can do this right now

The best quality I've seen on my camera that comes closest to raw output is by using an app called Snap Camera. You'll find an in depth analysis on XDA by searching it in for note 4 forums. By enabling the specific Samsung mode it is able to capture huge amounts of detail with a small amount of chroma noise.
It's the only app I seen that can get to the sensor data independently of Samsung's algorithms. I'm not associated with the developer, just a happy user.

Isn't it possible to make the 9005 support RAW?

RAW / DNG support ?

Hello, im surprise that international CM12.1 version do not have RAW/DNG support as OnePlus One did have.
Anybody knows if zuk z1 will have this function ?
It doesn't have 4k recording either.. CM keeps adding new stuff to their hardware, the OPO didn't have RAW support at first and was added when Lollipop came if I remember well. They may include it later but who knows
Yes, two weeks with that phone and realize its just cyanogen marketing.
Its not a phone for me. Cyanogen lacks of constistancy, why dng support with opo and not with z1, its strange since it is the same hardware.
Why a fingerprint with nom NFC ?
The update to marshmallow will be in 6 month, if there is.
I m going to sell it and go to nexus 5 (dng and update, but poor battery), innos d6000 (gorgeous battery, great camera with large pixel, think pour update) or honor 7.
Guys pls download the Paid version of camera Fv-5 and check whether it supports raw imaging on zuk z1... Post your results here guys ...

Note 4 - android 6.0.1 and RAW DNG picture support

To be fixed,
Is there ANY way to do RAW / DNG pictures on a note 4?
any kernel - rom - camera app (like camera fv-5)?
Is it really impossible for developper?
Theorically sensor Sony IMX240 and OS are compatible.
Thank you, there is nothing clear on the internet.
I have an answer from APP camera FV-5:
Hello,
The new camera driver (Camera2 API) that allows manual controls and capture in RAW, must be developed by the manufacturer. So far as we know, Samsung has never included it in the updates to models that did not have it on launch.
Best regards
Antonio

There is the same Sony IMX240 sensor on many samsung, maybe a developer can implement driver on note 4 ?
Or it's impossible?
