Ok my nexus player displays no signal, white light is on, tried to hard factory reset, no response. Been using it with kodi and lately it started with reboots , then it would not boot without the button on the bottom and now its no signal regardless of what i do. Any suggestions and ideas please share them i have to get this working. Thank you.
edit: Tried connecting it to the pc, pc installed drivers, and if you unplug a cable it says cable unplugged.
Edit 2: every 5 seconds i hear the connnect/disconnect usb chime on the pc, cannthis be a power related issue?

I have i5801 with android 2.1.
I had plugged in the phone to PC using the USB connector.
Had a power outage and pc got restarted.
Since then, something strange is happening on my phone. It keeps on displaying "USB Connected" on the top of screen, even when i have plugged out the phone from PC.
Not only this, i have restarted phoen multiple times and removed/inserted battery, it still keeps on showing USB connected at regular intervals (every 2 seconds) even though it is not connected , and phone switches off automatically!
Does anyone know the solution to this?
Try a factory reset and if it doesn't work try flashing another rom.

Type *#*#7780#*#* in dialer.
Goto settings from there go to Privacy. There you will find a optiom Factory Data Reset. Good luck.

u have a big problem in hand
when u said that ur pc got restarted then it must have burnt the IC that controls the USB connection.
this IC is generally found attached. if it had burnt that u can recharge ur battery but u wnt be able to use any other PC connectivity functions.
sorry to say this but there is no way to fix this xcept giving it for servicing.
but bfore u give it u can dissemble it and have a look at the IC.
if it is burnt u will knw when u see it. no biggie
try this link to dissemble

hope this helps
I just rooted by phone with this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45692679
(basically replace a file g2_security on the sdcard and reboot)
After the root was complete and I'd rebooted the phone a couple times, my USB connection keeps getting lost. This started exactly after the root, so I assume it's somehow related. Has anyone else seen this problem?
So far my attempt to fix it has only included disabling usb debugging and changing the usb mode to charge only. Other suggestions welcomed.
Try changing USB cable

I'm having similar problems
Did you have any luck resolving this?
I'm having this problem with one of my chargers, and when I plug the phone into a computer it says charging but the battery doesn't move at all.

Similar issue with mine after root. Regardless of what setting its on it will charge through the Aux but wont play music through apps like it did before in my car. Music will come out of the speakers but the car wont recognize the phone. Shows "AUX not recognized" Might go back to stock to see what it was.
I am having issues charging as well.
This morning the phone while showing the charge icon in the battery display only was at 55%. I noticed by accident that when the screen is off and I get a notification via text or mail that charging quits. The icon shows as if it charging but the red LED no longer is visible and if you have the screen on long enough the % begins to decrease. I have to unplug and plug again for the charging to take hold.
Would anyone else mind testing a text when the screen is off, charger on and see if this disables their charge?
My problem seemed to stop after a few hours.. I don't know what changed. The host computer didn't reboot, the phone did reboot maybe another time or two, the cable stayed the same. No idea what happened.
This is a bizarre problem for me that's I can't find solutions to anywhere else. I have a 32GB Nexus 7 (NOT the 2013 variety) running Android 4.3. I've never rooted this tablet before, everything is original and I've never seen any issues with battery or screen performance before. After using my tablet during class with no problems and an 80% charge, I turned it off, traveled 10 minutes to a meeting, and pulled it out of my bag to turn it on. The screen didn't turn on, so I held the power button to soft rest it. Nothing happened, so I tried booting into the bootloader by holding down power and volume down. No luck there either. I plugged it into my computer and got an error message saying "USB device has malfunctioned". I tried using adb to reboot it or reflash a stock ROM with no luck, as the command prompt couldn't find my device. If I performed a soft rest or unlplugged my tablet from the computer, I would get a chime indicating that a USB device had been disconnected.
Does anyone have any suggestions with how I could proceed troubleshooting from here? I suspect there's probably a hardware issue, but that doesn't make much sense, since it was in a protected pocket for only 10 minutes and stopped working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My LG G2 (rooted with AOKP ROM a month ago) just got bricked about an hour ago. It was completely random too, I had it playing music via bluetooth in my pocket and all of a sudden the music stopped and when I took my phone out of my pocket, it was unresponsive to any button pushing. I plugged it in to my computer to see if I could debug it on there since the screen was completely black no matter what I did (long-pressed the power button and tried hard reset but still black screen). So when I plugged it into my computer, windows said "USB device not recognized" so I can't even do anything with it. I have no idea what to do and am in need of some help . I tried to include all the relevant information and if I missed anything, just ask. Thank you in advance for any advice you guys can give me.
Plug it into a charger and try different button combos, holding them for up to 30 seconds
power+up.. etc
Can you go into download mode ? (while powered off. press volume up and insert usb cable)
Hey guys, I'm really at a loss here. I have a Dev edition Note 4. It is rooted with a custom rom running. Randomly, the phone stopped connecting to computers via MTP to transfer files, I could not transfer any data between the phone and any computer via USB. I tried different cables and different computers. The phone still charged, but did not connect via USB. Then, the phone also stopped charging via USB, I was just getting a blinking gray battery icon when the phone was completely powered off and plugged in to the wall. I read online something about holding Volume Up, Power and Home when the gray battery icon appears and it will start charging again. This worked! However still no Data, but at least it would charge. I read something else online about holding this same combination of keys in Download/Odin mode which I tried, and this disabled charging again! WTF! Now I cannot get it to re-enable. I am at a loss here, is sending the phone back to Samsung really my only option?
I've tried: Different Cables, Different Computers, going in to USB Service Menu with *#0808# and selecting MTP and MTP+ADB, nothing works. I am positive something can affect USB settings in Download mode, but I am at my wits end trying to figure it out.
Any ideas?

Why not try wiping data/cache from recovery and install an official ROM from Samsung)either 4.4.4 or lollipop)
Bad USB port
