hello, so it all began with the lollipop update, i wanted it on my new phone (less than a week old), so i've read everything i can about flashing the G2, and i guess i did nothing wrong (i used normal flash instead of CSE the first time), but i didn't back up my original ROM and that's the problem, so the KDZ installed normally, but when tried to configure the phone, the touchscreen went crazy , exactely like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYwumfkokOA. so i downloaded a 4.4.2 kitkat rom, but it didn't correct the problem, i used an OTG and a mouse to use the phone, and i found out that my IMEI is "null", and there is no signal at all, plus the phone heats up and the battery drains really fast, and some apps like the browser freeze when i open them, i tried at least 5 roms, and they all have the very same problems.
then i tought maybe my phone isn't a d802, so i checked my IMEI on every IMEI check website, and they all told me it's a D802, but when i removed the back cover, i found "D800 0815" written under some sticker, and i'm afraid that i'll brick my phone if i try the stock d800 firmware, and it's android 4.2 while my original firmware was 4.4.2, i even took my phone to a repair shop but no luck, i'm really confused and can't replace or buy another phone, all my savings went into this one, and this forum is the only place that can help me, so please, if anyone has a solution help me
TL;DR: my touchscreen went crazy and my IMEI says "null" after i tried a lollipop update on my LG G2 D802
Where did you got your phone from?
There are a lot of shops selling refubished D800 or D801 as D802. They replace the Model number in build.prop which is a simple trick. Then you get flashing errors and other crazy errors.

Hi all,
A quick peek of touchscreen issues attached:
http://youtu.be/Hhuiv1SdsDQ
I enabled show touch options in usb debugging and took this video. Every touch on the screen is registering atleast two and mostly three touches as you can see in the vid. Any way to resolve it? I have tried to downgrade OS to 4.2 using LG Flash tool, and that doesn't work.
How do I fix this? Is it a hardware issue?
Baseband problem:
When I downgrade the phone to a D802 v10B or 10A, I lose baseband. Currently has India KitKat D802T20A_00.KDZ installed and baseband is present. Even downgrading to D802T10A_00.kdz loses baseband. Any thoughts why this is happening?
Try to go to hiddenmenu by dialing the number and then find update touch or something like that and or check your screen for dirt and clean it
fix found ?
I ran an update on my g2 from lg, and ended up with the same issue. Have you found a fix?
Same issue on my G2 (see my thread) but yesterday I gave up and send it to LG to fix it.
I tried nearly everyting I guess but nothing did help. Also the way into the hidden menu was without any result.
So I wish you good luck.
Me too!
I have the same issue. (VS980) It's impossible to use the phone while this is happening.
Now that I think about it, I didn't have any issues with this until after I installed the latest OTA
Anyone have any ideas to fix this??
Update
Finding out stock firmware and calling lg tech in the morning. Will update if I make any progress.
Reinstalled "out of the box" original rom ver. VS980-24A (.kdz) using LG Flash Tool. Problem gone - worked fine for several hours. Phone asked to install Verizon update VS980-26A, problem has returned. Called tech support, they couldn't understand the issue and decided my device was broken. They are sending me a replacement under LG warranty.
I used this for returning to "out of the box":

Hi there,
I realy need your help on my problems with the G2 32GB D802.
I bought it on ebay and instead of getting it from GB it came from HongKong and I didn't think about it that it does not have a european ROM.
First I wanted to root and flash custom recovery and cloudyG3 rom. After rooting with ioroot and installing the TWRP I stuck in the fastboot mode. First problem I did not make a backup because I never reached TWRP. Download mode only appeared for a second an then disappeared again.
After a lot of searching I found that probably the 802autorec.apk was wrong, since I don't have a european model. So I installed via fastboot a laf.img for a D800. After that the download mode was working again and I installed different roms via flashtool2014. The installation worked again but after rebooting the phone I had a lot of trouble with it. That the reason for trying different roms as I sad befor.
First, the fingertip points at different areas of the screen but not there where you are touching the screen. So you can not reach the buttons or write on the keyboard.
Second, after connection to pc I recognized that my 32GB model had only 10GB internal memory.
Finaly I can not use the phone. For me it seems that I burned my partitions and need your help to get it right again.
Please give me a chance.
Best regards an thanks for helping me.
p.s.: I tried to go to the settings menu in the phone and reached it after a lot of confusing taps on the screen. All the phones informations like IMEI and all the other disappeared. Something realy went wrong with it.

I now have the answer from the dealer that my G2 has the Firmware D80220B.
Just try and test it. Good luck.
@Angryyolk
I just ask myself how to enter engeniering mode?
Thanks for your help.
I walked one step forward now.
But there is still no solution for my problem. I found a link to LG "http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI" to get the information about the version of my stock ROM. Just replace IMEI by your real number and you will get it.
In the meantime I flashed the rom with flashtool but the screen behaviour is still the same.
I later rooted the phone with towleroot and then installed the correct autorek.apk for the D802. That worked properly. I reached TWRP but in fact of the weired screen behaviour I couldnt do something. I tried to fix my IMEI problem with QPST but this tool showed only empty tables on my PC when I connected my G2 with usb.
I tried an update of the screen firmware as posted above. The code that has to be entered on the dialer is 3845#*802# but it wont work for me since I can't enter "settings" the service menu. That's because of the weired behaviour.
Beste regards
I now was able to enter the hidden menu. And I was able to get to the menu point "update touch firmware" but nothing happend.
What is wrong?
touch screen problem
The same problem occurred on my phone. how did you do it. please help.
I installed the software and touch screen freaked out.
It's because its a Refurbished Models..

Hey guys, I'm having trouble identifying the version of my G2.
I bought an LG G2 off a Hong Kong vendor back in October, and was told it was a D802. It had D802 firmware on it, and it came in a D802 box, with what I think is a D802 IMEI. It ran perfectly for the last few months, but then I got greedy.
About three weeks ago, I tried to install AutoRec D802 version, and everything fell apart. It went to fast boot, and I spent a week trying to unsuccessfully restore D802 stock. It turns out, the problem is that I don't think I actually have a D802. If you take the case off the back, parts of the internal casing is labeled D800. Today I took off the internal casing, and found that parts of the circuitry, including the motherboard, are labelled D801.
So which is it?
I've tried installing D800 roms in the past, and they seem to work alright (I can root and install recovery) but the baseband and IMEI is missing, regardless of any modem/baseband I flash, and I can't install a custom rom without bootloops (I've tried CM, and Paranoid Android).
Now I've seen that D801 is printed on the motherboard, should I go ahead and try D801 roms? I'm worried I'm going to make everything worse, and end up with an unfix-able mess.
So what do you think?

Sure thing, but i wont be able to get them until tonight or maybe tomorrow though.
I've managed to get a Kitkat D801 rom working, rooted with recovery, but now I have a bigger problem. My phone shows unknown baseband and unknown IMEI. I've tried flashing kitkat basebands but that didn't change anything. So, I think the EFS partition has been lost. I don't have a backup, because this whole mess began before I could put recovery on, and I originally used towelroot so IORoot couldn't backup the partition. I've been searching all day with no luck.
Is this a lost cause? Is there anyway to restore EFS, baseband and IMEI? I still have the original D802 IMEI and serial from the box it came in.
I've attached various pictures of the cover, internal covers and motherboard for anyone interested.
It might seem like a simple topic with a simple answer, and a thread that shouldn't be created, but it's not like that.
The story goes like this. I bought a couple of LG G2's "D802" 32G (ill explain quatation mark later) from Alliexpress for reselling and decided to keep one myself. Being an android fan the first thing I would do is update the firmware or flash a custom ROM. So I tried to install TWRP with no luck, I bricked my phone (trying to get the phone out of the state of "fastboot mode only" resulted in hard brick, after that I sent it for warranty to alliexpress seller). I got a replacement phone, everything as usual, perfect phone from the first sight. Now to my question(s)... :
1. I checked the IMEI on Swappa, it doesn't even show what phone model it is. I tried to enter the IMEI to this site: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/svc/popup/model_check.jsp?esn=xxxxxxxxxxxxxx for .img extractions it won't load as such IMEI seems to be not real!!!
2. After reading around I found this thread: http://androidforums.com/threads/in...-international-hong-kong-version-32gb.877957/ . It says here that IMEI counterfeiting is not a new thing and changing one model to appear as another (for example D800 to D802) is just a matter of flashing a modified image, thus resulting in wrong IMEI numbers.
3. Now the main question: How do I safely install a custom ROM for my particular model (ill check what model number is printed under the back when I get home)? Would flashing a recovery requires reflashing the phone to it's original state trough download mode , let's say to D800 partitions? Would model check when flashing wrong files prevent me from installing anything at all?
If someone knows how to deal with this, or maybe even had simillar experience could help me, that would be amazing. Thank you for taking your time to read and reply.

Okay, so I checked what's under the cover... Hidden under a few stickers I found that it's actually not a D802, but rather D801/D803 (that's what's written under the cover). So the phone is D801/D803 , the back cover is D802, the software is D80220b. Any ideas how to get to custom rom without bricking the phone??
I just booted to recovery and guess what, it's preloaded with working PhilZ Touch 6.25.4 - LG G2 (cm_d801) recovery. Where does this lead me to? Should I try installing a rom?
a few feeks ago bought a second hand lg g2 d802 running kitkat 4.4.2 wich was only detecting 2g when i try to connect to the internet, i tried to solve this problem by entering the hidden menu and selecting the network types it could detect but no luck, so i decided to upgrade to lollipop, i downloaded the lg support tool and went for it, when the update was done i found myself with an almost completly functioning device except it had the "imei=null" problem, meaning no network at all --"
i tried the QPST but it was unable to detect my phone, so i decided to root my phone and go for a custom rom, the cyanogenmod13 nightly (i don't really know what i was thinking at that point :s ) and when done i was stuck in a bootloop, so i tried flashing a stock rom kdz method but the lg flash tool would stop automatically. since then i've been trying to flash stock TOT roms, the process would stop at 94% and the phone reboots. the screen shows random pixels and lines, the start up lg tune is there and i feel vibration when i press the home buttons location, i've tried to reset it to factory settings and i've used theLGUP_8974.dll, selecting the BOARD DL option in the lg flash tool but that didn't solve the problem. i have read somwhere that it could be a kernal problem, i don't know if i should go that way ( am at that point where i don't want to mess up my device anymore xD ) what do you guys think?
thank you for your help

Sounds like to me you may not have a D802. You'll need to take the back cover off, and look and see what model #s you see. As if your having screen issues that sounds like your flashing a D802 firmware on a D800 or D801.
Also remember flashing will almost always stop before 99%.. Anything after 85% its done this is normal and will almost always happen.
These D802's have a LONG history (mostly bought referbs) of not being what they are being sold as.
