4G LTE Confirmed Working AT&T - ZenFone 2 General

Got this up and running after some delays.
Basically just use the APN settings from their site...
http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB424489&cv=820
When using the IMEI that shipped with the phone it put it under a basic phone plan.. (No VVM, no LTE). What I did was just use the IMEI from my old Galaxy S3 and 4G kicked on.
THIS WILL NOT SHOW LTE IN THE BAR BUT RATHER AS SIMPLY 4G.
CHEERS!:good::good::good:

Download lte discovery and see what band you are using please. Mine gets it on band 2 (1900) but that is it.

Band 2 is what it is here as well... Luckily i live in a place that has it.

4G LTE 2600(7) Not Working
Last week I went to Taiwan and get a ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML) 2GB, the firmware for Taiwan doesn't support this band, I downloaded the latest WW firmware, but no luck, any Idea?

So weird, it seems to have worked. Even though the settings are identical to what I had initially.

Losing hope here in Tucson AZ. All I can manage is a measly "H+" symbol and my speeds are a spotty 4mb down to .500 mb speeds... Is there any way to check what frequency the towers are in my area? I suspect we in the old pueblo only have the older ATT speeds for the frequency supported. (SIGH)

AT&T is a pain to get working with it. At first, I popped in my Sim card straight from my Note 4, no luck. So I called AT&T and added the IMEI. Still no luck and found out they reprovisioned my SIM card for HSPA+ only. I popped my SIM back into my Note 4, it only showed 4G/HSPA+ and not LTE. Called AT&T to have them swap the IMEI back to the Note 4 and got LTE on my Note 4 Then swapped the SIM back into the ZF2 and I got 4G (LTE).

ATT boggles the mind. I use an MVNO w/ ATT (Net10/Tracphone) and I never have this problem. Wonder why the resellers are less hassle?

I have an old straight talk SIM on ATT with APN of att.mvno and I don't see any LTE. Will try a genuine AT&T SIM tomorrow and see what happens. I'm really not looking forward to moving my number to a tfdata ST SIM.

Correct. I now have a Zenfone 2 US version. My old ST SIM that used att.mvno still had zero LTE. I moved to a new ST SIM that uses tfdata and I now have LTE on band 17.

Any thoughts on how to get activated and working LTE working on my ZE511ML as a new customer with no previous GSM IMEI? I may be able to get a SIM from someone else but it doesn't sound like that's enough.

I had this problem with AT&T as well. AT&T will drop you to HSPA once you register your ZF2's IMEI with a new SIM cos their system doesn't recognize our ZF2 (or any unlocked device that they themselves do not sell) as an LTE device.
I went to the nearest AT&T store and got it sorted by telling the rep to delete my ZF2's IMEI and give me a new SIM.
If you're signing up for new service with them, tell them you don't have the phone with you and to just give you a micro SIM.

I just got my ZF2 today and tried my ST SIM it shows 4G. I was wondering what speed you guys getting in 4G AT&T I am in Northern KY area on band 17

MY ST sim in Iowa shows 4G and uses lte band 4 ( according to LTE Discovery ). Speedtest shows: 124ms, 17.3 Mbps down, 7.36 Mbps up.

So any workarounds with this? I have LTE and I'm picking up band 17, but only getting 4Mbps down. I like this phone a lot, but if I can't get LTE speeds it is basically useless.

I got 4 ZF2's and all of them work with LTE At&T. All I did was call a rep and told her the APN that she was giving me (nxtgenphone) was nto going to work for my phone and that I needed her to force the LTE plan. She forwarded that to an IT rep and everything worked. They will need your IMEI numbers to set it up.

What speeds are you getting? Because mine clearly connects to LTE, but the speeds are basically 3G.

Mine says 4G, doesn't LTE like my S5 but it faster than my S5 when on the net.

Yes. 4G on this phone is LTE.

ATT Users: Moving From A LTE Device & Plan To The N4?

Grandfathered unlimited user: My Nexus is on it's way. I've been using a Note 2 as my driver. When I switch has anyone successfully stayed on the LTE plan or does their system throw you back to the HSPA plan? I want to try to argue that since the Nexus has quasi LTE it should stay on that plan.
(It's the throttling. When you are throttled on the LTE plan it drops you the HSPA, on HSPA it's rotten EDGE, the last time I checked. It's 2013. No one should have to do EDGE.)

I'm still on my ATT LTE plan and I've been using my N4 as my daily since Thanksgiving. Just don't take in in with u to get a new Sim card as the N4 needs a micro sim. Just cut it yourself and get a Sim converter if u jump between phones. My ATT LTE provisioned Sim card will work on the LTE PTA APN but it won't work as LTE speeds. I live and work right outside of Chicago which has LTE. From what I understand their system won't recognize the N4 which is fine and so it will just keep u on the plan u are on. I've heard stories of people taking their N4 into an ATT and getting put on a hspa plan. Then having to call into ATT customer service and giving them a LTE phones imei just to get their LTE back on their Sim card.

I bought a T-Mobile prepaid Sim to test drive and will probably switching from ATT LTE to T-Mobile HSPA+. If the coverage is right I'm getting around 10-12 Mbps on T-Mobile. That's plenty fast for my needs and also the unlimited data, freedom of pre paid sweetens the deal instead of ATT hspa.

Good info. The system has never automatically dropped you back? Are you manually going in and setting the LTE APN or selecting the option offered? I've had a nasty shock twice before when flopping SIM's. I plan on dropping the Note 2 micro straight into the N4.
The unlimited data plan combined with LTE is worth it's weight in gold.
I came from a Vivid on at&t with LTE unlimited. All I did was to copy my Vivid's APN exactly to the N4 and used a sim cutter to cut my sim down and I was good to go. As for throttling, I still get throttled after 5GB of data and it still knocks me down to 500kbps until my bill cycle starts over.

Nope never dropped me back In fact if I throw my Sim in my Skyrocket I still get LTE. I'm actually buying a HTC one X+ with LTE. Like I said before I don't get LTE but the AT&T PTA APN nets me that fastest speeds. It depends on your ROM which apns u get on default but u can always add any APN you want on any ROM. So like on PA I had to add the LTE APN to get those faster speeds.

Big question is did you go to 4.2.2?
If you don't want at&t to argue with you about whether it should have an LTE plan or not, your best bet is to activate the account with a device that is officially LTE capable, then just pop the sim card in the nexus 4 and don't tell them about it. AT&T will argue with their customers over the smallest details for absolutely no reason!!! That's why I cancelled my contract with them years ago. I can't take a company trying to argue over something in which they have NO CLUE, and try to force me into their school of thought.

Verizon Note 3 on Straight Talk

So my 2 year contract through Verizon finally ended thank God, and I decided to switch to Straight Talk through their BYOP Activation Kit at Walmart. I followed all the steps through the kit and found on the Web just to be safe and got it running on the T-Mobile sim. My only problem is that I cannot get 4G LTE. I get 3G but it will not let me do anything on 3G and when I try to do something involving data or messaging it switches to H+ just long enough to do these things. I have rooted the phone and ensured that Band 4 is activated through the Service Mode on my phone and still nothing. I have even tried multiple APNs. Is it maybe just that there is little to no T-Mobile 4G around here? Running Android 4.4.2 by the way.

I am having a similar issue. It's the Verizon Note 3 on Straight Talk AT&T sim. I get H+ but no LTE. I am running stock 4.4.2 not rooted. I really like this phone but if I can't get my 4G LTE working on it I will sell or trade for a AT&T branded note 3 unlocked. I know what part of the problem is. It's the way Verizon sets up their phones. They are LTE capable yes, but Vzw makes sure those capable bands are with their sim cards and frequencies.
I'll have to do some searching on XDA but I think I remember seeing something about rooting the phone, getting into the hidden menu, and changing the bands to the st att sim will get 4G LTE. If someone could chime in here to verify this and point me in that direction it would be great.
On mine with root access I can get into Service mode and apparently by default since one of the latest updates from Verizon their Note 3 has Band 4 enabled. I know if you have AT&T you can select different bands through service mode as well however with my T-Mobile sim changing this simply makes it not work. Could that be what you're referring to?
Sent from my SM-N900V
Yes but it's not working for me. I found out the ONLY way to get the Verizon note 3 to work on Straight Talk AND get LTE is to use the cmda part of the phone, I:E call ST, give them a cdma activation code, and have them switch your service over to the cdma part of the phone.
Well it looks like that's what I'll be doing then because H+ just isn't cutting it. Although it is better than Verizon 3G, considering I hardly got 4G through Verizon anyway.
Sent from my SM-N900V
yeah I hear ya. H+ is ok, but 4G LTE it is NOT!....lol. Keep in mind Straight Talk still doesn't "Guaranty" 4G LTE service. Like most people, I have found that Straight Talk LOVES to quid pro quo themselves out of any responsibility for their service faults. They will blame it on your phone, your area, heck, they will even blame your lack of signal on you when they can saying you did something to your phone to make it not work.
Their customer service is their biggest downfall. But like most companies that have truck loads of money they can afford to not really care.

Well that's good to know. I ended up calling ST after making this thread and when I told them it was a Verizon phone they acted like it was impossible to activate 4G even after I explained it was a world phone. Once I requested to speak to a supervisor they told me they would "work on it and give me a call back". A few days later my phone mysteriously started getting 4G LTE haha.

I'm using N910C on AT&T. LTE works, at least where I'm at (Ohio). It works out of the box for me while others say they have to call AT&T to have them provision your account with new IMEI.
Anyone else using this phone on att? All of the negative reviews on amazon are people claiming that they dont get lte with this version.
Using 910c and getting lte
Decided to go with T Mobile Note 4, Easier to sell if it does not work with LTE.
Just ordered an N910C, and plan on using it on AT&T. I live in Missouri, and will report how it does. All of the bands are there. So I don't see why it wouldn't.

So I have had it for a couple weeks. At first I was disappointed to learn that I did not have LTE. My download speed seemed low, the icon only showed 4G, and "LTE Discovery" showed LTE, but no band. I spent a couple hours on the phone with AT&T troubleshooting, went to a corporate store to get a new sim, and nothing worked.
HOWEVER, I put my phone into service mode at my house. You enter service mode by entering "*#0011#" into your phone dialer. Once in here, it said that I was connected to LTE band 17. So I went to another city praying that band 4 would be there, because then both LTE bands would be confirmed. Boom band 4 shows up in service mode, too.
So after quite a while of testing, I can confirm LTE connectivity for AT&T on the N910C for both band 17 and 4. I also learned that I was speed testing during prime time hours. So my tower was congested, and that was why the speeds were low. The icon didn't show, because there doesn't seem to be an LTE icon in the system.
On the topic of the N910U, though, I was pretty sure that it was a 3G only device. I may be wrong, and will look into it.
UPDATE: From what I have found, the N910U supports the following bands: 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,28. AT&T uses 4 and 17. So the device only has 1 of 2 LTE bands. So theoretically, you could connect to LTE in a band 4 area, but I also found some reports on XDA of AT&T's towers only handing down HSPA+ even in those areas. You can join that discussion HERE. Hope this helps.

[Q] N910H on straight talk with ATT sim only getting edge

So I bought my wife what I thought was a good deal and got her the N910H not knowing that it was 3G only. Ok, well, on her verizon branded unlocked note 2 she can get HSPA speeds with her sim, but with the note 4 that's unlocked, she hasn't seen above the edge network, and her signal is garbage. APN settings are what they should be, tried a few different variations, and nothing. Bought a Verizon 4G LTE sim from straight talk for her, before I realized it was 3G only and only assumed it would help. But would it help? Both ATT and Verizon get LTE coverage in the area, or what can I do to fix my signal? Oh yeah, and I can't send or receive pictures...ugh. HELP
*apparently she can now receive pictures, but still can't send them

I almost purchased the 910H myself but luckily found out it doesn't support LTE before pulling the trigger. If you can still return it, get the 910C model instead. It supports LTE for both AT&T & T-Mobile.

So, just tried the only 2 other modems I could find for my N910H running KitKat, and signal is no different. Any more ideas?
update
Ok, so playing around with some of the settings in more networks, mobile networks I changed the network mode from gsm only to wcdma/gsm (auto connect) and data speeds are NOW where they should be, which is 3G, and with a full signal got 8MB down speed, so, that's good. Now the question becomes why can i receive pictures and not send them. Actually managed to get a couple to go through, but no clue how or why they went through.

lg v20 unlocked us996 no LTE

Hi everyone I just purchases the device for B&H Photo and I'm not getting LTE on att. I changed all the apn and still no luck. It's strange because when I put my cricket wireless sim I get LTE and band 17 works flawlessly. So I also trying putting my AT&T sim in my LG G5 and LTE works no problem. Any solution would be greatly appreciated.
that's odd. are we 100 percent sure the 996 has all bands for att lte?

You shouldn't have any problems. I hope you do figure it out. ATT uses bands 2, 4, 17, and 30. The US996 supports 2, 4, and 17. The lack of band 30 I don't think should be that big of a deal as it only appears to be available in congested areas to lighten the load on the other bands. I'd think that 2, 4, and 17 should be available everywhere where ATT is available. I'll have the US996 tomorrow and will try and remember to post my results. I have ATT also.

Hey all...
I just got my V20 unlocked using it on VZWs network. Advance calling is working and I get LTE but I'm having an issue.
My signal sucks. I took the phone to work in DC same places I used my S5 and my speedtest yields a no network message. Apps were taking to 4 hours to down load, google play would lose its connection. My s5 got 12 hours and my v20 us996 died in 4 hours.
I have lte bars but the connection is poor. Calls via 4g advance calling were poor. I had to turn it off.
I was home Sat on Wi-Fi and the battery lastested 24 hours on wifi.
Now I'm in SC on my vacation sitting in a restaurant and can't pull up the internet on 4 bars or vzw lte.
Did a speed test on the same server side by side with my wife's s7. Her ping was 67 and 14 mb of down load and 2.5 mb upload.
My ping was 800 and got 1.5 down load and lost the connection on the upload.
I love everything else about the phone but I can't do this poor reception and quick diying battery becasue of it.
Spoke to Verizon tier two tech support and they say everything is perfect on the phone.
So dont know what to do now.

Crazy thing is that I'm sottong here on band 5 with 3 bars. Band 5 is an AT&T and I'm unlocked connected to Verizon service.
I'm having the exact same problem with my B&H phone - just showing 4G not LTE. But when I do a speed test, I'm getting 25MB/s down\5MB/up, so not so worried about it. I am having problems with phone calls too, but I use google voice so as long as there's a network connection I'm good. I'm going to run into an AT&T store and talk to someone - I bet there's something they have to do to bless the SIM card. I popped mine out of a Nexus 6P and put it into the V20 hoping it might just work, which it mostly is. It's not just you, in other words!
