Hello all.
I recently unlocked and rooted my Verizon Galaxy Nexus (the first time I've done this) and flashed this ROM to it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532320
The ROM seemed quite glitchy, the quick toggles were not working correctly and eventually one day when I tried to turn on my phone, it got stuck in a boot loop. I then flashed back to stock using the Nexus Root Toolkit. I still wanted a custom ROM, so I then flashed this ROM to my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427087
This ROM is almost completely working, but I have some issues with it. For example, some of the quick toggles do not work correctly. My data toggle does not change when I short press it, the bars just stay orange (screenshot here: http://i.imgur.com/vpOgpBe.png) Could someone tell me what this means? Is it supposed to be like this? I would assume that short pressing the data toggle is supposed to turn mobile data on or off, correct? The quick toggle settings are a standard feature across all Omni ROMs, right?
I also cannot get an internet connection over data now either. My MMS messages have also not been working since I installed the Fork My Life ROM.
Some other minor issues I have with the ROM is that when I short press the location toggle, it will sometimes close the quick settings window.
Should I post about these problems in the ROM's thread? Are any of the above normal happenstances in an Omni ROM? This is my first post on XDA so please cut me some slack.

Maybe someone can answer your other general Omni questions, but yes, if there's bugs in an unofficial modified OmniROM, those should probably go in that ROM's thread. Is the bug caused by Omni or the modifications? Since it's not stock Omni, we err on the side of caution and go with it's the modifications.
Hey guys,
A weird question yes, but I have no clue, been sat on 4.4.2 for the past 7 months now, feel like it is time to get lollipop, but I don't want to for one reason and that is that xposed apps (from what I have read) don't all work and I use a few of them. Is there a way to get xposed working correctly? (I haven't been around here in a while)
If this is the wrong forum, then can an Admin move it to the correct one please.
Thanks for all help

If you asked this question some 3 weeks earlier, the advice would have been "don't update", but:
1. rovo89 managed to bring his Xposed framework to AOSP Lollipop up to 5.0, there are unofficial variants that are adapted to work with 5.1+, as well.
2. On the TouchWiz side, Samsung made a s***load of changes in the ART runtime, and only recently two devs (arter97 and darkera13) managed to bring Xposed to TouchWiz Lollipop, using two different methods, but both have the necessity that a deodexed ROM is used.
3. Mind you, TW Lollipop is one ugly-a** motherf***er. Literally ugly as hell, even if it is the fastest TouchWiz to date.
So, if you feel like experimenting, give the development forum a look, but keep in mind: better flash through Odin a stock Lollipop in order to upgrade your bootloader and modem (without that, upon flashing a 5.0 TouchWiz ROM you'll get a bootloop; before Samsung updated us to Lollipop, we had a couple of experimental AOSP ROMs which worked flawlessly with the old bootloader and modem).
Also, if you plan to use Xposed with Lollipop, carefully read the threads of the Xposed apps you intend to use, some might not be updated yet to work with Lollipop.
That's my two cents.

Thanks for the reply, I finally got it now, AryaMod's version, seems nice for now, yeah it doesn't look the best but I am liking the speed a lot. Going to finish installing apps, backup then try and get xposed working. Any apps that are good for lollipop that make it different at all or?

When Wanam gets his module and all it's functionality updated properly, you'll be able to theme any TW ROM you flash properly and mod it like hell, but he barely begun work on it due to the fact that only recently Xposed was brought to TW Lollipop (Wanam is TW module exclusively).
My own setup is Project Artware by arter97 (you can google it and find it easily, but he still hasn't shown that project here on XDA) + his kernel, then only the GravityBox module to tweak the behavior of the volume rocker and the capacitive buttons to behave like the Note 4 (left capacitive button for recent apps instead of holding down the home button, I've always hated the stock implementation for the Note 3 ).
If you like that setup, with AryaMod you probably won't need GravityBox.
Hi all, I come from a Note 2 which I loved, but it was asking for a replacement..
So I have recently bought a Note 4 SnapDragon (N910F), It came with LoliPop 5.01,
LP5 is not that bad, but I haven't been able to make Xpose run on it..
So I decided to go back to KK4.4, tried several 4.x ROMs, but the only only one that has worked so far is the X-Note Rom.
(Some KK4.4 I tried to download just are not available anymore, or they didn't work on my phone,
others asked for Samsung activation, the download audio trick doesn't work)
Now (with KK4.4) Xposed is running flawlessly (same as on my old note2), but..
I'm having some issues with screen lag when writing or browsing, and a factory mode message every reboot
(tried the rm efs subdir, but it just isn't there)
I also have no clue how to make my home button wake up the phone (with LP5 it was doing it)..
So besides that, I would like you guys to recommend me a ROM for my note 4, that just works fine with Xposed.
I don't care if kk4.4 or lp5..
Thanks in advance,

I've had the same issue with every Rom both kitkat and lollipop (factory mode). It's your WiFi. If you reboot your phone with WiFi switched on this message appears. I think the problem is Knox related. The only solution ihr found is to wait twenty seconds after your pin code and then switch WiFi on.

Actually every deodexed Lollipop is xposed ready so you are free in your choice. All of available roms at Snapdragon section are good so it depends what you want. Some are more design oriented, other tend be as lightweight, as smooth as possible and so on. So it is difficult to suggest you something with just xposed compability Provide more info what is important for you or just look around in snapdragon development section
Hi guys,
I need to update my phone as my current setup is having Bluetooth issues - and I read it happens on Android 4.3, but is fixed in 4.4 onwards.
I need a ROM which allows the following fixes:
1) Bypass security settings on emails that require you to put a PIN/Password to unlock your phone every single time.
2) Remove messages from the call log. Not sure if this was fixed in the newer android versions but it was very annoying when I first got my phone. I only want to see calls in my call log.
Can anyone recommend a ROM which will allow these fixes? I don't need any other features - just need something as light as possible.
Cheers
Wanam Xposed has the second option, you can use it on any stock based ROM, at the same time Arya Mod is the best TouchWiz based ROM available in my opinion, but it is by no means light. About the first option, I think Arya has that too, but not at all sure.
Thanks mate, will keep that in mind if I cant find a lighter a ROM.
Does anyone know of a light ROM which will do the above?
CHeers
Temasek cm roms are pretty good.
Norma N5 Port V15, Phronesis V4.1 good, i tested. MinimalOS is very fast and light but need some apps for default messages, etc
Hi guys,
I just noticed Wanam Xposed has the option to bypass exchange security. Therefore, I want to find a light ROM which is based on Android 4.4 or higher, and has the ability to use Wanam Xposed. What ROM would I be best to use?
Alternatively, could I just install the newest stock ROM, and then root it and install Wanam Xposed?
Cheers

The last time i read in order for xposed to work on lollipop, it has to be deodexed. Try multiX by tkari4. It's the only KK rom left supported here.
Sent from my SM-N920C
I second Temasecks Rom. It's Great.
I'm using Pronesis Rom ported from Note 5.
I think it's good enough, there are a few bugs but everything works great. I would recomend you to use this rom.
ALEXNDR Roms are great too if you dont want a custom rom that makes your android look like nothing.

I'm using Dark AU rom found on Samsungviet website, very stable even more than stock imho. It's a Note 5 rom ported for Note 3.
This rom has none of the issues you've mentioned. If you want to bypass security try using google's smart lock feature build into lollipop. If you want to open anything from the lock screen you will always need to unlock
Hi there! My Nexus 5 died due to water damage, and I'm looking for a replacement. The Axon 7 is a possibility, but first, I have a couple of questions.
1. If you decide to unlock the bootloader (as far as I can tell from reading around), you will stop getting OTAs (correct?). But if I want to go back, or I screw up something, is there an "oh ****" panic thing I can do to get back to stock? Does this phone have something like Samsung's flash counter? Or if I restore to stock and lock the bootloader, will I "regain" my warranty? Is there a difference in rooting, flashing and going back to stock procedure between variants? I would buy in Europe.
2. I see you have a working CM13 over here, but is it "daily driver ready"? Sadly I don't have access to a phone to test the stock ROM, so I don't know if I would change it.
3. How is the Nougat situation? I see it's not officially out yet, but there are official beta tests for the US and Germany. But can you install these betas on a phone purchased and used somewhere else? Or is it IMEI based?
4. Does this phone support double tap to wake without preventing deep sleep and doze?
5. I know this phone has good audio by default, but does VIPER work on stock ROM or on the unofficial CM13? I have headphones that can pump out pretty good bass, but refuses to do so without some sort of audio tweak. Is there an option for bass boost by default?
6. Is there an option in stock or custom ROM to disable the capacitive buttons and move to an on screen navbar? Without downloading some wonky app that attempts do create something similar to a navbar that is...
I'll try and answer a few of these?

1) As far as I know, there is not "official" bootloader unlock at the moment. A few of us got in on it when it was offered, but ZTE retracted it a few weeks later. There are steps on how to root without unlocking the bootloader to allow you to install a custom recovery and there is also a "back to stock" guide. I'm not sure about a flash counter? If you are running a custom recovery, you break OTA's....But, usually in a few days there is a flashable update here on XDA
2) Some are using CM13 as a daily driver, but there are too many random issues ATM for me, with: GPS, data & wifi, and the speakers don't sound as good (some crackling) - which V4a helps with this.
3) Android N is slated for later this month... They took a several beta testers in December, then released a statement that it should be available the end of January
4) Yes, there is a DT2W function. Settings>Gestures & Motions>Double tap screen to wake.... It's not as good as some phones (Nexus, HTC), you learn how to make it work - Fingerprint scanner is pretty fast, I'd say as fast or faster than my Nexus 6p was.
5) You can flash V4a, if you have a custom recovery installed. I've flashed it a few times, but always come back to the stock Dolby Atmos - which can run with V4a if you follow the steps in the flashing guide here. There is no "Bass boost" in Dolby Atmos, but you can adjust the EQ to give it a lot of bass.
6) NavBar??? The US version has no option to enable or disable them, they are not available to us. But there is a flashable zip that enables them, but it doesn't disable the normal ones on the phone itself. So, you have the on screen and off screen navbars...Which I'm using and actually kind of like.
If you're looking for a phone that has a great development section, the Axon 7 will not have too many custom ROMs.......But I'm sure there will be more in the near future. Currently there are 3 custom ROMs listed, 2 de-bloated stock and CM13....Plus LinOS has an unofficial release as does Broken OS.
I will try my best for you here ......................
1. Unlocking the bootloader does not stop OTA's, root does. Even if for some reason you want to relock the bootloader I have done that a few times so don't worry about it. Back to stock is nothing more than downloading the stock rom from ZTE and using stock recovery to install from SD card. There is no worries there.
2. Some people are using CM 13 as a daily driver, but there are problems with GPS locking and audio distortion.. Read the thread on CM 13 for more details.
3. Nougat is in beta testing. Please don't ask about it as there are NDA's in place preventing people involved from talking about it at all, and all it seems to do is start a giant argument with some of the people here.
4. Stock rom does support DTTW. Don't know if it has an effect on doze or anything else, but stock rom and CM 13 have never given me any battery issues so I never concerned myself with anything like that.
5. V4A does work on both stock rom and CM 13, but I encourage you to try those headphones without V4A if you are on stock. ZTE did get the audio right (IMO).
6. Stock rom does not have on screen buttons, but custom based stock roms and CM 13 does, and they work. All the roms have that in their threads so read them before you install the roms to know what is going on.
