Hi, fist time using this so lets see how it goes
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4 (I337M) and I recently flashed CyanogenMod and have regretted it ever since. It got rid of all Google apps and initially made my WiFi stop working. So after that I started searching how to return to stock. (NOTE: Returning to provider isn't an option) I found a stock 4.2 file and flashed it onto my S4 following with a factory wipe. What i'm left with is a S4 that has no sound or WiFi. Overall i would like to return to factory everything and just stay there forever. Flashing roms are just too challenging for me. Hope you can help. :crying:

Hi, thanks for issued XDA Assist. You can find many answers here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att. In short, you need to use Odin and flash the stock firmware from sammobile.com.

Thats where the problem is. I flashed my stock rom on to my phone using Odin and i am left with a phone that has no sound and cant connect to the WiFi. I have heard something about flashing a modem or updating the modem rom onto my phone but i have no idea how to do that.
I'm going to move this thread to the AT&T S4 Q&A forum. There are those there that can further assist you.

Which tar file did you download from sammobile.com to flash in Odin?

Sammobile has the official firmware. Go there. You need to register but it's free. The downloads are a little show though. Try that. You'll download a zip file, use 7-zip or winrar to exec the zip. In there you'll find the .tar.md5 file. That's what you want to use in Odin.

Perfect!!!! Eveerything seems to be working so far! I have one other issue that you may or may not be able to help me with, the phone constantly says that the sim card has been removed every now and again. There is a very strange fix to this but its only temporary. Restarting doesnt work, taking the card out then putting it in doesnt work but the odd fix is taking it out and licking the metal side. Has the sim card burned out?

Glad you got it working! Sounds to me like the sim card holder may be worn out. You could try a new sim. Also, it's not an uncommon problem, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43891560

So I'm getting REALLY good at learning... How boot to roota phone. Unfortunately, this time is more serious. I used CF's autoroot. Odin confirmed success. But SuperSU claims that I don't have root. You are not soft bricked at all. You're just saying Super user says you have no root access. Seems like you don't have the latest CF auto root for NAE. I would highly recommend that you remove your phone number.

Yeah try upgrading ctf auto root. Your tar my be outdated.
I believe that I am. When I plug in, white battery shows but doesn't appear to be charging. Also when turned on, white Samsung s4 shows, but don't actually boot. Bootloader functions but there are no files to unzip. I'm really in Oct my head, broke, and desperate. I know that it'll be a simple fix, but I'm going to need someone to talk me through it. I just don't know enough. Neither Samsung not sprint will help, thigh both have told me they support root.

Do you know what android version your phone was on? 4.2.2 4.3 or 4.4.2? I would say if you have access to a computer and internet to download the NAE tar that is in the development section by random45 and Odin it. The instructions are in the thread. Of course you have to be able to access download mode on your phone.

The broken english and limited data led me to think it was from a foreign country.
If and only if you have the Sprint S4, go to the thread already mentioned here and download the NAE .tar. Here's the link again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663619
Verify the MD5 sum, put your phone in download mode, and use ODIN to flash it. That is the only way your problem will be solved. I don't know what you mean exactly by limited data, but if you need to, you can download it in a library or something. It's a large file.
Ok. So first off Texas born and bred. Graduated at 14 years old. No broken grammar. I only have 1g available on my plan for the tablet. Unlimited on the phone. It is unevoquivically SPH-L720T.
FINALLY problem solved. Back to Samsung today. New tech. Apparently class 6 SD during root was the problem. Fixed free in Best Buy, by Samsung tech.
Now let's try this root again. If first you don't succeed. ...... lol.

Root with the LATEST version of CF-Autoroot from Chainfire's site; linked in the OP. That's should be this one
Then install any recovery you with. Either with GooManager or via PC Odin.
For recovery I'd recommend Philz philz_touch_6.08.9-jfltespr (You can use others but that has, for me proven the most reliable on 4.4 and most of the 4.3 builds). Builds are here
Hint if you install goomanager and flash a custom recovery you can then use that recovery to flash other recovery zips - either Philz, TWRP or CWM
And Tigard, I'm guessing your somewhere by the 99 and 217.
EDIT!!
You have the T version so don't do anything I said for the regular 720!!

I am going to caution you here, since you have the L720T. I think we all assumed that you were talking about the original L720. Do not use those NAE ROM threads that we linked you to, and whatever root method you use, make sure it works on the L720T. For future questions, make sure you specify what phone you have. This is primarily a forum for the older L720 model phone, not the tri-band phone that you have.
Actually, I had already tried those files several times Prior to you suggesting them. I'm just still shocked, and disbelieving that too low a class SD card caused the problem. Feedback?

I for one don't believe the card was the problem.
With no SD card at all, the phone should've booted no problem.
When I got my phone it didn't have a card in it - I did order a class10 at the same time but it didn't arrive as fast as my phone. I put in an older 8gb class 6 without issue.
Sh*ty sd card and it should boot just access it slowly, unless you did something to move system files to your external SD card before it failed.
Now I do know cards of any type and class can fail - and DO. But the fact that the card is bad shouldn't matter to booting - all that is off the internal storage.
Did they 'sell' you a new card or just give you another?
Seems all weird to me but who knows. Just glad you got it.

Hello XDA.
I have a:
Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M (IT'S EITHER A BELL/ROGERS PHONE)
BASEBAND VERSION: I1337MVLUAMDJ
KERNAL VERSION: 3.4.0-1529758 [email protected]#1
BUILD NUMBER: K0T49H.1337MVLUFNE1
The problem is, I had rooted my phone long time ago and wanted to recently unroot and update to the latest KitKat version (I was on jellybean). It would not let be update because it said the device was modified or something of that sort. I tried to unroot by following a tutorial online and flashing with a stock rom.
I did exactly as it says but now my phone is totally messed up. My Wifi no longer works, the apps keep crashing and nothing is working like its suppose too. I do not know what to do to fix this. How do I return my phone back to factory settings as if it is brand new? I have tried flashing stock roms 3 times new (3 different ones using ODIN) and nothing seems to work. I have tried samsung kies and it is still doing the same thing!
Please help.

No, it would not be the case. Odin flashes the entire firmware, kernel and all. Sammobile is an official site for the firmware so if it doesn't work you might have a hardware issue. But wait for the download.

Honestly as little information as I can find about it online I wouldn't chance it unless/until you get positive confirmation on here from a well established user or someone with evidence to show that it's legit. But that's just me. They may well be legit, but if you are doubtful enough to ask, that's a good enough reason (for me anyway) to not give them any banking information/money or try to put anything from them on your phone until you see enough on them to make you feel safe about it.
You need Odin 3.12 to flash any rom for s7 att. I used this site 's rom, no problem with it. I didn't find anywhere else to download so I have to pay this site. A bit expensive though

Not a problem! Got it from Br3w3r who is also part of the team responsible for the S7 Edge root! Where he got it, I am unsure. I have had to use it once though, and I can verify it works. It doesn't appear to reset the flags that cause Samsung pay to stop working, but it'll bring your phone back from disaster.
Bought another s7 edge off Craigslist. Everything was fine and legit and phone was reset but guy left the secure boot lock on so (dumbly) I factory reset it from the recovery menu and upon boot got hit with the FRP. Texted the guy and said he would help me out when he got to his house (~hour away) but now no response(have screenshots to prove it). Not trying to be fraudulent in anyway I just want to be able to use the phone I paid for. Phone wasn't stolen as I require sellers show me proof of purchase or actual use of the phone
Well your only choice at this point is to contact the guy

Already tried, numerous times. Now he's just ignoring me. I've seen that maybe ODIN would work?
just search it via youtube.. you will find the solution.

Tried ODIN the stock firmware using AP and BL but still asked for account upon booting up. Should I try with diff firmware?
There's a twrp file you can delete manually. I don't remember what it is, but I found it on xda for note 4 or note 5 a year or so ago.

Tried the method using the Real 2.0 app that made a fake call and went to the browser and such. Got up until it I had to find the google account manager in the shortcut maker app and found the account manager apps but not the one that actually asked me to log in. Think of another one?

I remember that too but that was for screen locks if I'm not mistaking. I have FRP blocking me
Not sure then. I did find a link for the exact issue just now by Google search of xda. Good luck.

I was kinda hoping maybe a forum member had one lying around. That way I know its a reliable and verified source.. I hate using file hosts that limit your DL speed and amount of downloads per hour.. For example the second link in ibuprofen's response limits to 1 DL per hour AMD when I got to the link ASA it started to DL I hit my home button and lost the DL.. Tried to DL again and said to many connection s try again later lol

Any Luck?
Let us know if you find it, I'm in the same boat and trying to find a legit and "Actual" Stock ROM for the SM-S975L is Dangerous business, guaranteed to make you become Postal! Made the standard nand backup of course but go figure, when you need storage to work it always seems to spit Corrupt out at you !!??
The model #s can't change from one to another; i.e. sml to sgh. To confirm the phone motherboard's actual model #, boot into download mode.

I am having trouble with reverting to stock ??
Before flashing anything, I recommend confirming the model # in download mode.
Check my signature for the stock ROM. Links are there
