[Q] Galaxy S3 neo. Best custom rom/kernel for both battery life/performance?

Hi.
I am pretty new to android and I just decided to root my S3 neo running 4.4.2 android version because I couldnt
Find any other way to get hearhstone running on it. And of course now, after rooting I want to try custom software
To improve my galaxy's performance.
Any tips/links?
You can try Rox' cyanogenmod 12 or BlissPop. I think Bliss is better because of the customization and the fact that you can tweak your CPU/GPU frequency.

Suggest me a Clean ROM

Hello guys,
I'm acutally running the X-Note build 20 stuck on Android 4.4.2
I have some problems to recognize a good rom for me so I'm here asking for suggestions. I don't need anything customized. If you could indicate a CLEAN stock rom that could let me be updated with the lastest android versions, I would be really thankful.
Thanks in advance
One of the best you can find is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649176
I am looking for a stable nexus like ROM for note 3, I am thinking of getting the next nexus device and want to try and sample the experience for the next few months. Any suggestions as to which ROM will suit me best. I am looking for something stable and reliable?
There is far too many options available now.
Should I go for something like omega ROM? I don't normally flash ROMs but I am sure I will figure it all out.
AOSP Roms
Your should forget Samsung TW crapware and flash an AOSP Rom.
Try Slim if you want lean and stable or Euphoria to remain stable and have more customization options.

Happy flashing...
Many thanks for your reply, I think I will give slim a try.

i suggest cm based roms, bigger choice and more community support through shear numbers LOL
perhpas i have t add that i tried almost any rom on 7 devices. nevertheless slim is one of the very best roms around, well maintained. i just need a few more features and xposed is not yet stable enough for me and app settings does not yet work.
Slim used to be my Rom of choice until these last months when we can't have neither visibility nor understanding on what is happening in/to the team.
And I have switched from the Galaxy "S" series to "Note" series, so although I'm very fond of AOSP, it's hard to find an AOSP rom with the native TW features, mainly S-Pen features that I used quite a lot.
I've tried Aryamod and found it nice. My daily driver so far.

#my2cents
I use the multi-window feature a lot so I kept returning to touchwiz roms.
better battery life and better s pen support is also a plus.
currently the best rom in my opinion is aryamod 5.3, but you can wait until 5.4 comes out.
the most important thing is to go to the OTA app that comes with the rom and flash the "no 3minit battery" zip, which will return your battery icon to default instead of the retarded 3minit one.
good luck

Custom ROMs for 910C

Hello everyone!
First thread here. Been a long time lurker and been grabbing and flashing custom ROMs for the nexus 5 until i switched to the note 4 (beautiful device, really). Well, since i cant post in the development thread due to my status as a new member, i thought kd post my inquiry here.
Im looking for custom ROMs for the 910c variant. I prefer to keep the TouchWiz features so AOSP ROMs, even though great, are not what im looking for. Glamor rom ported from the s6 seems very tempting, but being based on 5.0.1 (2?) Im a bit skeptical about it. My 910c is running on stock unrooted 5.1.1 which is great in terms of performance and battery life and id appreciate it if i could be directed on custom ROMs based on this build (any sign of a note 5 port? That would be ideal).
My problem with the 5.0.x builds, apart from the various bugs that the amazing, most talented devs have surely taken care of is that i read somewhere in the development forum (exynos) is that if i make a backup of my phone (running on 5.1.1) from kies and restore it on a custom ROM based on 5.0.x, well, im gonna have problems.
So....any recommendations?
All help would be appreciated
base on s6 port... i can recommend 2...
Sixperience http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/development/rom-sixperience-s6-port-v1-0-stable-t3190233
Glamor http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/development/glamour-s6-rom-t3136786
glamor got a screen freeze problem... but not everyone got it... I prefer sixperience for stable usage. Sixperience dev are currently porting N5 apps. When will it be release... cant say but he has make a great progress.
Base on 5.1.1
Wanam Lite http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/development/rom-wanamlite-clean-odex-xposed-t2923266
eRobot http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/development/erobot-rom-note4-n910c-7-xxu1bog1-t3174248
RulingLite http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/development/4-4-4-rom-tr-rom-t01-super-fast-powerful-t2936453 (this one got a lil s6 apps)
thats all right now...
Im using Sixperience Rom..
Known bugs:
- touch key light not working
- Fingerprint
Best rom I've used so far...
Thanks a lot guy! I'll check out wanamlite and erobot! Hoping glamor rom and sixperience get upgraded to 5.1.1
hi all
I've always used a stock rom for the note 4
I want to have full access on the phone (in order to be able to control network access, for instance for apps forcing LTE mode (advanced network settings) or for battery saving apps that cannot shut down data when needed)
I tired to root my stock rom but that wasn't enough for those apps (forcing LTE or battery saving apps )
Can some tell me which custom rom make that possible ?
thanks

Need suggestions for best rom for s4 i9500

Hey guys, I am really fed up with the bugs and issues in stock 5.0.1 of s4 i9500 edition. Snapchat force closes every now and then, chrome crashes , wallpaper gets auto changed and so on.
I would like to know which would be the best rom that I can install which can be used a daily driver, I want to install it once and use it tension-free. Can you guys suggest which ones do you use as your daily driver, which gives the best performance and maximum battery life and should be based on lollipop 5.1
I am not really into changing roms so I would like this one to bug free and stable, I do not need any additional features.
Thanks!!
The best ROM is subjective, in that everyone's opinions are going to differ. The only way you're going to know which ROM is best for you is trying them out.
Thanks for your reply. I actually wanted everyone's opinion so that I can know which ones are very stable and working great for them and then I can go ahead and try them and select the one out of them that works best for me
Euphoria rom is best as if i think so....
But if u want to use samsung apps, airview, air gestures halcyon rom would be nice
For better battery backup go for stock rom which is somewhat stable now.
Aurora is the best
All air functions work fine and some of the note features are there and in adition very stable
after many roms tests
Been using Aurora V2 - crashed yesterday while in a call. A big NO for me, but otherwise the rom was more than satisfactory overall. I have automatic call record enabled, so could've been that... not sure.
Wanna try Halcyon next...
For me,
AOSP-based ROM: GearCM and everything based on that ROM
TW-based ROM: Doctor's S6 port/Halcyon/MBP with VoLTaqe Kernel
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD
My vote is for darklord...
AOSP : Gear CM, Resurrection Remix and Euphoria
T.W. : Aurora S6/S6E V3.0, Dark Lord and Halycon.
Kernal : VoLTaqe Kernel and Light-Weight-Kernel.
Doctor's Rom is also good but somehow didn't work good for me.
**Happy to Help**
Cyanogenmod. Very stable and fast.
Uptill now, am on stock rom, which has been stable . However, waiting for CM 13, as Android 6 is not going to come for s4. Problem for i9500 which has exynos chip and as yet unreleased source code, CM 13 will be delayed. Just released cm 13 for snapdragon i9505. Running CM 12.1s in i9300, s3 for the past year. Very stable.

[BIG RANT START] DON'T READ IF YOU'RE TOO SENSIBLE
All roms, they're almost the same. People get the sources, compile it, and release it.. and they all looks like the same.
Every non-stock-based (TW) rom looks and runs almostly identical.. They have almost the same functions, almost the same stability, they share the same "device tree" and kernel.
Even boeffla's kernel has no new features for AGES. And the "developer" just blames Samsung and wash his hands.. (and I have "donated" for his app)
I'm sick of no specific S5 stuff, improvements FOR s5 or performance tweaks FOR s5. I bet they mostly don't even USE a S5 anymore.
Even the ****ing microfone has ultra-low recording volume for AGES and no one cares. They just COMPILE what they DOWNLOAD from others and "release" it here.
And there are people THANKING them for making just this. Come on, it's not a matter of being ungrateful, but to be critical. I don't like mediocrity!
If you appear to be totally satisfied with the **** you're receiving, no one will give you more than ****!
And NO, I don't have to "do better" to complain about it or be critical about it. When did GOD say that you can't complain about something just because you can't do better? or it's just a xda's RULE to be a totally grateful lame fanboy about everything you're getting here? I'm just not mediocre.
But anyway.. peace for all.
On my old LG phone I used to run custom ROMs in order to free-up internal memory & squeeze out more performance (on an aging phone) and to get some additional features (on an aging OS). I haven't bothered to install a custom ROM on my Galaxy S5 because:
1) Stock Android 6.0.1 is really good.
2) Rooting enables you to remove bloatware and free up memory, via Titanium Backup. I've got all the apps I want and no memory shortage.
3) Installing the Xposed framework, and some Xposed apps (especially XtouchWiz) has brought to my GS5 all of the "built-in" features that I'd want from custom ROMs.
4) Custom ROMs tend to be a bit buggy and tend to waste a lot of my time because I have to update the buggy ROMs.
I am now perfectly happy with my GS5 and I can't think of a reason why I'd want to hassle with installing a custom ROM. But that's just me.
This sure turned into a whine fest. Install what you want. The great thing about having custom roms is the ability to flash different builds in order to get the features you want. I prefer stock cm13. Only issue that I have is Bluetooth stuttering on wake. There's it. Everything else is stable and predictable. Using xposed with a few modules adds some features normally in RR or Bliss but with, for me, without the lag.
Why I choose custom over stock? I cannot stand the thought of being locked down to a device I own outright. I should have the right to change my status bar. I should have the right to choose what apps I want on my device. I should have the right after paying 600 at the time to full control over my device.

this became really good thread!! Thank you all for posting your experiences! For me really great and I can save really lot of time!
Please keep posting your choices!
really with Xposed apps is possible to have all features of custom roms?
CM13 is the official stock rom? There is one with root included?
What about "with stock rom you don't have all the control of the phone", is that true even with root?
Thank you
AICP 11
running AICP unofficial on KLTEVZW with unlocked bootloader. Currently have it set up with gestures and all just the way I like. Have flashed a few other 6.0 ROMS but keep coming back to this one. Bluetooth on screen unlock is kinda buggy with screen unlock but is similar to the issues from what I understand with CM13. Android Wear seems to work as it should with first gen Moto 360. I have a note 2014 as well and just use it to stream music to my bluetooth speaker. Tag or PM be and can point you in the right direction if you would like to try it out.
i like and have been using for a while [ROM] [Official & Nightlies] [BlissPop 6.01] 10/7 - [KLTE-SPR-DV-USC]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-wip-27-9-14-t2889474
too many
theres just too many but the best ROM i think would be PAC-MAN cuz its got a bit of everything, however i am yet to find a fully working one. closest i could find was Ressurection Remix. its pretty dope.
In my opinion. Tipsy OS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3393668
is the most stable and up to date aosp based rom out there for the S5.
Fast, smooth and zero bugs.
Incorporates the latest theming engine

Xposed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
works as well.

I'll reccomend VanirAOSP. It is pre-rooted, faster and more stable than CM13, and looks quite cool.

Have Verizon G900V and unlocked the bootloader using the forums here @ xda
vaniraosp lacks lots of features, as I remember..
Im using aokp with no complains ... it seems faster than others with its default kernel..
crazykernel reboots if you change almost any default options, and boeffla's lacks features and has some untested/buggy governors (less than crazykernel though)
it seems real devs are abandoning s5 as everything is just in an alpha stage forever
