[Q] MK802 PS3 gamepad remapping. - Android Stick & Console RockChip based Computers

Hi all.
I have a MK802ii TV stick and I recently got a Gasia (generic) PS3 type gamepad to run N64, SNES and PSX emulators. The problem is it kinda sucks for navigating menus, so I keep having to switch back and forth between the gamepad and the fly remote. Very annoying.
So I want to remap the L2 as BACK and R2 as HOME at the Android level to get around this. I tried changing the "L2" and "R2" listings to BACK and HOME in the PS3 .kl file but they still just register a click. I tried making a new .kl file with the Gasia's own VID/PID and changing the L2 and R2 in that. They still register a click. Finally I tried changing the Generic.pl keys 194 and 195 (I got them from a gamepad test app) to BACK and HOME. They still register a click.
Anybody know what I'm doing wrong here?
Thanks!

Rom Version?

I'm on U1A ROM, Android 4.04.

I'll just keep hacking at it myself I guess!
(I tried Tincore remapper which just added more problems than it solved)

I have bought sixaxis control from appstore works like a charm. Try to test the demo version

LOL, I don't think you get the problem I have. The Gamepads work 100% inside the emulators. I just want BACK and HOME maps to L2 and R2 all the time at the OS level.

Key mapping the pad on all games?

Hi fellow play owners... ive been messing about all day grabbing some emulators and other games. but it seems to me that you can only use the pad on some games? ... racing games wth tilt steering seem to have no key mapping option unless im missing something? (im talking about no emulator tilt racing games)
anyone have any ideas if its possible maybe im missing something...
cheers
Games need to have explicit support for the dpad or customizable control.
The Tiger set of emulators work perfectly because of the complete controller custimizability.
TigerSNES + super Mario FTW!
Ah right so its the individual games or emulators that have to have the supported code in them to let u map the keys... i thought the phone might have some conversion type software built in itself..
so basically only games with keymapping written into them u can map ... cheers

[Q] Snes9x ex and Sixaxis Controller - 2 players using ps3 controllers

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had any luck using 2 PS3 controllers in SNES9X-EX?
Is it possible to bind keyboard buttons to both player 1 and 2 within the emulator. Posted in the SNES9x forums, but they seem pretty dead.
Thanks!
Pietro
interesting thought. but i don't know how that'd work. I would like to know as well.
my idea is to use the first 12 letters of alphabet for controller 1 and next 12 for controller 2.
Since you can bind buttons in both programs, it should work. The problem I'm facing is that you can't assign the input of "Keyboard" to more than 1 player.
I stand corrected, here is an update from Robert Broglia
Right now there is one key map per device type, and USB controllers are part of the generic "keyboard" type. Once I get a host cable for testing, I should be able to treat them as a separate device with their own key config. Full per-player mappings are coming after that.

Yeah the main problem is that the utility just lets you assign different keys to the controllers. So there's definately enough keys on the keyboard for several controllers but snes9x ex only allows for 1 player to use the keyboard. It should be easy to just allow both players to use the keyboard as long as they are all different keys right? I wonder why this wasn't fixed yet. It is the best snes emulator I've found.. Just a shame about that limitation.
Don't know if this is the right place to post this.
But why had snes9x ex been removed from android market.
Catch ya later..

I talked to the developer and he said google removed it due to "Content Violation"
In my experience, both controllers work but they share the same buttons. So two player games don't work correctly.

New Onlive app and controllers

Well I hope you guys herd that they released the new onlive app with working touch screen controls and you can play games now, however if you don't have the fancy bluetooth controller you can't navigate anything. I have a ps3 controller and the sixaxis controller app and was wondering if anyone would know how I could set it up to use my ps3 controller

I'm in the same boat as you. I just got my sixaxis hooked up about a week ago to my xoom, it'd be really sweet if we could get this working with onlive as I want to use my xoom in conjunction with my tv.
Have either of you discovered anything new? I'm looking into the same thing to no avail so far.
Nope haven't found a thing. I keep checking this post hoping someone has found a way. The sixaxis is an used as an input method with the sixaxis controller app I just can't figure out how to program keyboard buttons in onlive.
What does this do exactly?

I have make it work Sixaxis control whit OnLive on my Galaxy Note
My Name is Rodrigo Salfer and I am from Brasil, that way sorry for my english.
The only thing you need to do to make it work whit ONLIVE is to remapping the controls.
It is very easy
Folow my instrucyions:
1 - Open Sixaxis
2 - Options Preferences
3 - Imput Mappings
4 - 1 control mapping
Change:
Start = Enter
X = U
Circol = J
Square = H
Triangle = i
R2 = K
Analog 1 Left = A
Analog 1 Right = D
Analog 1 Up = W
Analog 1 Down = S
Pres Back and open OnLive
And now enjoin
It is wonderfull experience and the graphics in my galaxy note are amazing
I tested only lego batman game
Best Regards

Your English isn't really all that bad my friend. I wanted to personally thank you for submitting this. I'm sure it took quite a bit of changing and testing to get those mappings.
I will try and test other games myself but I am one of those that depends quite a bit on other people who have more time on their hands to figure these things out. If I find other mappings or further info, I will submit it as well.
One side-note is that since the SIXAXIS has to be connected through bluetooth, there is an extreme control lag that I've seen mentioned on other message boards. It is so extreme that it bothers me but I'm sure there are others out there that might not be as bothered by it.
I'll probably end up buying the Onlive controller because I'm extremely excited about being able to play full PC games with great graphics on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1!
Thanks again, Salfer!
Thank you salfer!!
I can confirm this works with OnLive. Works on two of my devices so I am guessing this should work pretty well with most others.
(I am on a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Epic 4G Touch , will try Evo later)
--I am aware this is the HTC Glacier forum, I found this using google search for onlive controllers.
Has anyone tried mapping the right analog to mouse movement? I would love Saints Row The Third to work but heard the camera is impossible to control.
Everytime I start sixaxsis and run onlive it tells me my internet is insufficent enough to run the program but if i turn off sixaxsis and run onlive it runs perfectly im on a samsung tab 10.1 any suggestions????

Maybe the active Bluetooth connection slows down your Wifi.
You can try plugging the Sixaxis in via USB cable, then I think there's no need for the 'sixaxis' app as it's supported by Android 3.1, but I'm not sure how you'd set the button mappings.
This doesn't really work? Just the joy stick.. However i got the X, to work, its R...

it will be interesting to see how smooth and responsive it will be since you are playing a game online and I am sure its from a actual game console, x360,ps3 etc.
wonder if you can set it up with you x360 at home so you can play ur personal games wherever you go!!!!?

Because at present the game has not been optimised for the mojo c.t.r.l.r, you can either connect a ps3 controller using sixaxis app and follow the provided tutorial.
Buy a xbox 360 controller transmitter and connect an xbox 360 controller and map using usb/bt joy app (youtube fora tutorial)
Or use the mojo controller configuring it to use on screen touch mapping using tincore key mapper (again youtube a tutorial) unfortuinately you will need a mouse connected to be able to drag down the tincore keymapper tool from the drop down menu when first wanting to map the keys, you can then save the profile so you dont require the mouse in future.
Thats the best i can think of at hand, possibly someone else has found a better way to map the ctrlr to mimic onscreen gestures

The game should automatically recognize it.

I was under the impression the developer of the app/game you are using has to have added support for the ctrlr so when start the game it detects the controller and works fine.
But for the bulk majority of android games that haven't added ctlrlr compatability it ain't going to work/work corectly by just moving the switch to game pad mode. For these games we require the tincore or sixaxis app.

Dosbox Turbo - Mapping Triggers and Thumbsticks

Hi all,
This thread probably won't get much traction, but I'm pretty sure the developer for DosTurbo isn't very active anymore.
There are really two separate issues here:
1) The analog triggers are not mappable. The in-app mapper does not register them at all. I dug around quite a bit on this, and if I'm not mistaken, DosBox Turbo is really just an android port of Dosbox with some added features. Dosbox itself has it OWN mapper. Has anyone had success getting the triggers to work?
2) The thumbsticks. Now I don't know why the developer restricted the mapping here, but here are the options:
a) map a thumbstick to keyboard keys (like up, down, left, right)
b) map one thumbstick to mouse control, the other to "joystick"
You can only pick either a or b. No combination of both allowed. The problem with this is that I want one thumbstick to map to up, down, left, right and the other to map to the mouse control. You'd think (b) would work, but games without joystick support do not recognize the "joystick" so I'm stuck using the d-pad if I want mouse control on the thumbstick.
FYI, I'm trying to setup the controls of a modern shooter with Duke Nukem 3D. I am very close. The dpad control movements, the right thumbstick controls mouselook, triggers do nothing. I just want the left thumbstick to work like the dpad, and the triggers to work.
If anyone has any advice, please let me know. Like so much in the Android emulation world, things get so very close to perfect without ever reaching it.
Did you tried magic dosbox?

That was actually the first emulator I tried for Dos (free version). I found it confusing because at the time I knew nothing about Dosbox. Anyway, last night I bought the full version and yes, the controller mapping is 100% compatible with the Shield Controller. Thanks!
Also it seems the developer for Magic DosBox is active, unlike all the other Dosbox ports. The UI is kind of weird... perhaps that's why I was so confused. Runecrafting and all these other references to fantasy RPGs is an unnecessary layer to the learning curve. That said, the help documentation inside the app itself is quite good.
Actually im interested as well.. can you make make a small guide,link or something for this?
I only found things in russian..
