Hi guys, I've buy the lg g2 d802 just yesterday.
I really want to try miui v7.
So I've downgrade lollipop to kk trough kdz and everything goes fine. now starts the problems.
I cannot find a good tool to root and I use a one click root + twrp that root the phone fine but when it ask me to reboot to download mode, it stuck at finding new port.
but beside that the phone was rooted (i've check that with root checker).
Then I really don't find any tool or guide to install TWRP recovery, and so I have to install autorec for KitKat. that is the only tool that works for me (twrp manager doesn't work).
So I install with twrp miui v7 gtbluesky.
But many apps don't work, such as camera.
Somewhere I've read that autorec for kitkat downgrade the bootloader to JB and miui needs KK bootloader, maybe is this the problem?
can you advice me a good tool for root and install twrp on G2? So I can have KK bootstack and install miui?
thank you a lot in advance and sorry for noob question

what recovery version you have?
Guys today I came here with a simplified rooting method for titan running marshmallow 6.0 that doesn't need boot.img modification
Note -You need to have bootloader unlocked and custom recovery like twrp installed on your device before proceeding
Unlock bootloader here
Flash the custom recovery of your choice using auto flash script included in separate attachment
1) Download and rename recovery file as recovery.img and put into the folder of auto flash script.
2) Reboot your device into bootloader mode and connect to PC using USB cable [You shold have latest motorola device manager installed and your device should indicate usb connected on bootloader screen]
3) Now open 'auto flash recovery script' folder and run auto_flash_recovery.bat file
4) Now custom recovery is installed on your device
Steps for rooting-
1. Download BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip and place it in root of your internal sd card (other supersu version does not work on titan running official marshmallow)
2. flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip using twrp recovery
3. wipe delvick cache and cache (optional)
4. reboot device
5. If you want to use stable super su version i.e. UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip or any version like any supersu beta except BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3. download and flash it over BETA-SuperSU-v2.62 after rooting.
6. If you have previously rooted your MM running device using SuperSu-v2.52 with modified boot.img, You need to flash stock boot.img first and reboot then follow this guide (step 1-5)
#BETA-SuperSU-v2.62 will do all required modification by its own script automatically.
Note- Dnt flash any other supersu version or SuperSU-v2.65 alone on unrooted device. you will get bootloop. Do a backup of your rom before any rooting operation.
In case if u stuck on bootloop flash this update UnSu script via twrp, wipe delvick and cache and reboot. this script will remove any supersu file installed in your device thus fully unrooting ur device that will recover you from bootloop
Thank you! It's working!
Perfect, It's working!
Working,great

Where can we get the stock boot.img for Marshmallow?
If u r running stock mm, then ur boot.img is also stock.
i think it's not necessary to root again if i already rooted with modified boot image does that make any difference

Failed Root with XT1064 6.0
Everything ran smoothly installing the zip from TWRP, but on reboot: no SuperSU; no root. Now warnings or errors came up in the TWRP text during root.
MotoG 2014 XT1064
System: 24.41.34 titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US retus
Kernel version 3.4.42-gef77327
TWRP-3.0.0-0-titan
Installed zip: BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip
Device is unlocked. Status Code 3
Update to 6.0 was with OTA after flashing the stock rom using XT1064_TITAN_RETUAWS_5.0.2_LXB22.99-24.12_cid9_CFC.xml.
The phone was previously 5.0.2 Rooted.
I did not lock the bootloader during the process.
The OTA to 6.0 went smoothly.
Followed the above instructions to the letter....
The only thing odd I did was uninstall the SuperSU App on the phone before flashing TWRP and starting this Root operation.
Has anyone gotten this to work on XT1064? Or any other root method on stock 6.0 and XT1064

This will work on all Moto devices running stock marshmallow.
Root Moto G2 running on Official 6.0 Android Marshmallow Without (modified boot image)

Every time i remove system apps it boot loop any work around for this in marshmallow.. In lollipop removing system apps can normally booted up without any problem..
I successfully rooted my stock marshmallow on XT1068. I had softbricked it previously by using a newer version os SuperSu (I hadn't located this post yet, so I didn't recover from it with you script. I reflashed stock).
So, many many thanks.
In the end, my successful steps were
- flashboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-titan.img
- reboot into recovery
- install BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip from TWRP
- wipe dalvik & cache
- reboot device

i Tried this on Xt1072 Moto G 2nd Gen 2014 LTE and had to use the UnSu first as per the instructions and for the reasons described in red. I was also stuck in bootloader with that horrible message that says your bootloader is now unlocked! Now the issue is I seem to be stuck on the Motorola hand stitched by peter crawley boot screen? I saw someone aske dhow long this lasts? I had to use an OTG usb flash drive to get my files on to the damn phone for some strange reason phone and pc having massive communication issues, not playing very nicely with each other????? wtf? anyway I got okays and successful messages when in TWRP 2.8.5.0 I just dont understand why there seems to be such a huge problem with getting this f"£$%^&*g phone sorted.
Nexus 5 rooted and flashed with the beautiful elemental x kernel, why cant we get elementalx for moto g? its absolute genius! now someone tel me what the hell is going on here, when will I ever have success with this damn phone? I hate bloat and it only has 8GB plus the sd card which is configured as internal storage, could this be what the problem is?
Hello everyone, I went to root my phone today, I used a Youtube tutorial with the exact links/downloads given. Followed the steps but my device is having trouble rebooting, it is just stuck on the Samsung logo flashing and I'm not too sure what to do. Also when it boots up I get the error message in the top left of my screen saying "Recovery Is Not Seandroid Enforcing", hopefully that helps.
Thanks.

Hard to help if you do not write in detail. Such as phone type, links you have used, etc etc

You need to flash SuperSU manually.
1. Flash TWRP
2. Format data
3. Flash SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip
http://download.chainfire.eu/1021/SuperSU/SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip
You simply brick your phone. You need to know that there is not Chainfire-AUTO-Root for Nougat, so you need first flash Stock FIRMWARE from Sammobile, then flash TWRP and flash SuperSU
Or you can flash many of 100 roms with prerooted supersu and busybox.
Hi there,
After upgrading my S7 Edge G935F to stock version xxu1dqd7 (with latest May 2017 upgrades) I had to install TWRP (twrp-3.1.1-0-hero2lte.img) again.
Unfortunately this change will NOT recognise my pattern lock now! I had to re-install the stock image (DBT-G935FXXU1DQEF-20170523093738 with ODIN) using the HOME_CSC file to hold my data.
This re-installation brought me back to the game, but without TWRP and hope for root, but the pattern pin (the same) is now working...
Update 1
Installing TWRP (twrp-3.1.1-0-hero2lte.img) over the new stock image (DBT-G935FXXU1DQEF-20170523093738 with ODIN) without having the pattern lock enabled feature during start will result in stuck on
the samsung title.
Update 2
I had to repeat the step above (stock firmware), so stay now without root.
Will check later with other stock versions
>It seems you didn't format the data partition or dm-verity was not installed. Happened to me, won't boot if >anything is altered like when installing a custom recovery.
Yes, I did it with and without dm-verity, All 3 options,
TWRP (ok, but pattern lock will not recognized)
TWRP + supersu (2.82) (stuck on the samsung logo)
TWRP + supersu (2.82) + dm-verity (stuck on the samsung logo)
Yes, I didn'T format the data partition. Didn't want to lose my data ( Never had a problem to upgrade stock roms on my old S4 and root after).
Before the stock upgrade, I run with the Jan 2017 patch level (I bought this 2 days ago) and was able to root with the above method.
Today I wanted to jump the the latest stock version but run in trouble then.
Update 3
Downgrading to Stockrom from 2017-Jan-30 Germany 7 G935FXXU1DQB3 G935FDBT1DQA8 is not an option (anymore), The system boot up but with lot of errors and it's unresponsable and not usable.
Upgade then to the April patch status (2017-Apr-17 Germany 7 G935FXXU1DQD7 G935FDBT1DQD1) brought me back to operational,
but TWRP + supersu (2.82) + dm-verity (stuck on the samsung logo).
Will try it now with the Februar patch version
Downgrade to the Feb patch status (2017-Feb-23 Germany 7 G935FXXU1DQBX G935FOXJ1DQB2) had the same resut like the Jan version - not usable.
I'll give up now and install the April version without TWRP.
I need root to restore my apps AND data with Titanium Pro.

With the TWRP + supersu root method, no matter what 7.0 stock ROM you use, you will not succeed before you disable boot pin and format data. You can restore data after rooting.
So start with the latest stock ROM that is working 100% for you, flash twrp, format data, flash supersu, and it should work. You have to format data because root and stock rom currently does not work with encryption.
Or even simpler, use the new cf autoroot, however it seems you still have to format data.
I had high hopes that the new cf autoroot nougat binary would work with encryption, but alas it seems it doesnt, at least I had the same wrong pin code at boot issue as with twrp. I havent had time to test it, nor to format data and root, so I am currently not rooted.

Thank you doclorenzo.
I had success with the latest stock version (xxu1dqd7) and your recomendation to format data in TWRP.
In short: Boot in Download mode, Install TWRP via Odin, Boot into TWRP - format data, supersu (2.82) + dm-verity
and then restore all data. Unfortunately it requires lot of time (at least 4 hrs to restore the apps + more for fine tuning)
Thank you and hope to have a better way with the next stock update and TWRP
Hi! I've updated my device to Oreo and I'm wondering if there is a way to root it. Kinda of a newbie here, rooted my LG G2 and LG L3 E400 using guides.. can someone help me please?
Download Magisk, patch the bootloader, copy it off to your PC, flash it back on in fastboot, job jobbed.

You can root it the same way as on Nougat, make sure bootloader is unlocked, flash TWRP 3.1.10 and latest SuperSU and you are done...just this.
Works flawless, i already did it on mine.

There is a problem in twrp with oreo, after the first time you boot in oreo, twrp can't mount /data partition, so to root you must format data (NOT WIPE), flash magisk or SU and then reboot. After the boot you can't no more mount data in recovery. Probably the fix will come.

There is no doubt that fix will come because S9 has the exact same problem and it got fixed already. We have to wait for US997 variant to get an update so devs can start working on this issue.
