Hello.
It seems that after 2 months of using Samsung Galaxy K Zoom xenon flash is gone. Few days ago I was making daylight photos and there was a strange sound from the phone, like short circuit. I made few photos more, xenon light was working, but today there is no more xenon. The phone is new, and I never dropped the phone. Any suggestions? Thanks.
If its nearly new send it back?,you have tried the obvious factory reset etc?

Hey all,
I've had my N4 for a week now and a couple of days ago I gave the camera a go. I have to say that I'm not impressed at all. Most all pics came out grainy. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking of returning it. Now I don't use the camera a whole lot, but sometimes when a picture presents its self and I don't have my DSLR the cell camera is what I have. I would like the pics to look descent. I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy S and with a 5MP camera and no LED flash it takes better pics than the N4. Is it the stock JB software for the camera and using another camera app would fix it?
Thanks,
Chevy

there will be grain in low-light but it's not too bad to my eyes.
if it bothers you, you could use flash; try another camera app, like camera zoom fx, that lets you control iso; or clean up the grain in post with noise-ninja or similar.
i never expect too much from phone cameras but they can produce decent results if you work within their limitations.
EDIT: i downloaded camera zoom fx yesterday and would highly recommend it over the stock camera app.
I have had the nexus 4 for about 4 months now. I LOVED everything about it, until 2 weeks ago. Now I HATE its CAMERA (rear). The front facing camera, takes better and clearer shots than the rear camera. I usually take pictures of my notes, to send to my friends. Since the past two weeks, the camera won't focus at all. I rebooted the device several times, close the camera app and restarted but the problem persists.
I mean seriously, the Front camera, takes better quality pictures than the back one. That's just a low blow.
Several things about my N4:
I am running Paranoid Android 3.0
I changed my Build Prop Settings to that of a Galaxy Note 2, about a month ago.
How can i fix this issue, anyone?
Thanks

You might be using GalleryGoogle.apk from 4.2.2 (JDQ39) with the 0.33 radio from <4.2.1 (JOP40D). Either downgrade your GalleryGoogle.apk to 4.2.1 or upgrade your radio to 0.48.

i too was very disappointed about the camera first. blurry, laggy etc. wasn't at all what the community and reviews told it to be. then the phone started rebooting randomly and i went back to the retailer and got a new one. random reboots is gone and this camera is everything i hoped for. like two different cameras.. would try to go to a retailer and compare pictures with another phone.
The have been multiple reports of units shipping with badly scratched lens glass. FYI...
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda app-developers app
Thanks guys will get it replaced today. Adam

what did you do? my G2's camera is also very poor. is it a hardware issue? should i change the phone?
uSING iNTERNATIONALL VERSION AND NO ISSUES WITH THE CAMERA. OS 4.4.2 UPDATED 3 WEEKS AGO
Maybe you should use this mod http://www.xda-developers.com/android/mod-for-the-lg-g2-brings-120-fps-and-4k-ultra-hd-video-recording/ if it's not from the hardware
Greetings!
Before I think about opening and exposing the guts of my beloved Note 3 I had a question. The problem I'm having as of late is with my autofocus. When I open up the camera app I feel the camera vibrate as its focusing. Sometimes it will focus in on what I'm looking at, sometimes it doesn't.The autofocus will vibrate for long periods of time sometimes with no luck and will just be blurry. I'm thinking I could just replace the camera but what I need to find out is if it's the camera or does something else control the autofocus? I've also tried another camera app camera fv-5 and the problem with the autofocus is still present. Many Thanks
I had a similar problem. My camera looked like crappie blurry fuzzy, not like before 4.4.2 so I tolerated it until battery life was a disaster then I found xda and rooted and instslled jasmine rom and that fixed my camera and battery. Now the camera is s5 camera big difference in quality battery is great as well. I double checked my camera by installing a different rom and wow it looked so bad I could not see anything but blur so I went back to jasmine the newest version.

Hello,
I've installed the Lenovo Camera.apk and it works great.
With the samsung camera, maybe try to turn on the flash, It did resolve my issue with the autofocus.
the camera on my new galaxy core prime is very slow to take pictures in low light conditions (e.g. an indoors party) it takes about 5 to 10 sec between pressing the button and the camera taking the picture.
I'm running android 5.1.1 that came with the phone (not rooted)
I tried changing settings and selecting a specific iso setting, white balance and macro instead of auto focus does make it quicker, about 3 seconds.
Any thoughts?
It's not just your camera, but every camera known to mankind takes a little while to take photos in low-light scenarios. Please research before posting.

true but my s4 mini takes maybe a second or 2 while the galaxy core prime takes about 10 seconds. I'm missing all the action!

The camera sensor is of a lower spec on the Core Prime vs the S4 Mini. You'd expect that between a former flagship little brother vs a low-mid range device.

so you're arguing that it's normal to have to wait 10 seconds after pressing the shutter?
My phone model is the SM-G360P
I reported the problem to Samsung a month or so ago, who claimed I was the first to say anything.. It's not just a little bit slow, but achingly slow, and if you turn on the flash the light turns on and stays on, blinding everybody, and then flashes on top of that.. It is also a bit dodgy on focusing.. I suspect firmware programming error.. Yes... it's almost 10 seconds to take a photo... I use the national consumer panel's app which makes a lot of use of the camera.. It has a really hard time focusing on UPCs.. It will make the attempt for a little bit and then focusing stops until I hit the back button and retry. The only at it works every time is if I am directly over the UPC as it activates and there is enough light over the UPC. My rom is rooted with kingoroot and I've used SuperSUme to get my SuperSU back... FYI..
Namaste...
Aurih.
I can confirm this issue on a G361F (Value Edition). I bought this phone for my father and so far it's perfect for his needs, but this slow low-light shutter kills it a little bit.
It really takes 10 seconds and during the whole time the flash light is on blinding everyone in front of it, as @Aurih already described.
I guess there's no fix (yet), is there?
Same phone (recently brand new) Same exact issue...I took some pics in low light (garage) and was shocked at the delay...I did it again and timed it...9.1 seconds...that's a long time, especially if a subject is posing with a blinding light in their face....the pic's are very good quality but the delay is definitely not right....spoke with a Samsung rep at Best Buy...he had NEVER heard the complaint and took my contact info (about 5 weeks ago)...
Same here, taking photos with flash takes a long time, about 10 seconds in low-light conditions.
I have a SM-G361F.
Does anyone know a solution for this?
