I have galaxy note 4 SM-N910G running on 4.4.4 official. For some reason I see 'System Updates' instead of 'Software Updates' in settings -> about device.
On clicking System updates, it shows a stock android like screen. Also, options like auto-update, update via wifi etc are missing. It directly opens the attached screen.
Do other people also see the stock android update screen when checking for updates?
What is your build version in about device?

Are you on a custom ROM? Because that's not how the update screen looks on stock touchwiz...this is how it looks on stock touchwiz:

Exactly. Mine says 'System Updates' instead of Software Updates and on clicking it, it opens the stock android like screen. Did not install anything after buying the device..so i think it is stock touchwiz, atleast everything else seems to be. It shows as the INU version in KIES. :S

Download CPU-Z from the play store and post the pics from the following tabs in CPU-Z :SOC and System

That is not cpu-z, download the app and post the screens...
There is also a possibility that the carrier your using inserted a little it of their flavor lol...still GET CPU-Z and post pics...

Maybe those updates were pushed to another carrier?Watch out for the next couple of days and check for updates regularly....it will pop-up eventually.
No, the updates for unlocked versions are carrier independent.

I'm running a custom rom, SlideMeRoot, with the first Mytouch Slide update applied.
Or SlideMeRoot is a version of the stock rom?

I have the modified radio update already installed if that's what you mean.

Slidemeroot uses is older than ota, they are sending you the rom that cr modded(1.3.x). Upgrade to cr for new radio and it will go away.
Edit: read rest of your post,it may be a small hotfix, probably not 2.2 .Maybe 2.1.1

Sounds like you've got the OTA many of us have had for quite some time. Take a look at my signature; if your build resembles my current ROM it's an older OTA. Post some screen shots as you did earlier so we can see the change since you've updated. Thanks.

Bear in mind the OTA update was more than just a radio upgrade ... which from your initial post appears to be the extent of the OTA you have had for quite some time. Interested to see the updated screen shots though ...

It was more than a radio upgrade; it was also a fix for other slide conundrums.
So you want me to apply this OTA update and post screen shots?
Because that would be unwise for a rooted phone...

You can always GET an OTA but you won´t be able to install it in some scenarios.
Your system partition has to be mostly untouched, but root and Xposed Framework won´t cause any problem. You can use stock or Philz Recovery.
Also got the update but the installation is failing due to unexpected changes to build.prop. I have removed xposed and anything else I can think of that may have changed the system partition but still no go.
Any ideas? Maybe someone could post their build.prop?
I'm also getting the update in The Netherlands. Bought my phone online amazon.de :laugh:

Well, I can, but can you tell me why are you asking?
I'm rooted and installed the stock recovery then tried doing the Ota (I'm on stock rom if it matters) and it gives an error, just "error" no more information during the installation process.
Anybody can help?

Yes, you have the right version of firmware for this OTA, don´t know why it´s failing for you, there´s too much variables, it´s hard to tell.
As to where the file I posted comes from - it´s right from my phone. Until today morning I was on French 4.4.4, then I flashed the German 4.4.2 firmware to look if I could catch the OTA and it really came, I pulled it from my /cache and posted here. Check out the MD5 sum: d289331e52d0f79d2bcc4b9b390ff338
It´s the same on my local copy, on the cloud copy I posted and also look here:

Apparently the update rolls out depending on that 4 numbers, i think it started from something like 3550 and mine is 3593 so i wanted to see if it is close to my number if you get what i mean.

Why so sceptical? Apart from a different dialer GUI, there´s not much difference you can really feel on 4.4.4, basically there are just some bug fixes.

Perhaps you need to uninstall and remove the modules and the xposed from the system before updating. Xposed and the modules add / modify system files and other sources in the device. Make sure you unroot as the last step as well. Stock recovery is required to install the OTA successfully

I just wanted to know, did you also had stock recovery or custom?
As the title says, I'm on firmware 17.1.2.A.0.314 but when I check for updates with my Z2 there is one available for 17.1.2.A.0.314. Furthermore it says I can only use a computer to apply this update.
Got the same thing here. Not sure what to do either.

I'm wondering if it addresses the Power Management issues I have been having. Too early to tell but will find out within the new few days.
It is in XEU scs . Better memory management. New management in battery. No vulnerability in stragefright 2.0

There can't be that many changes in this update we've just received, the OTA was it 80mb.
In battery we can see something new. It called application optimisation.
Stagefright fully fixed ?
Bit early to tell really, but my battery seems to be running better on standby with 4g on, before it was running down quite quickly to the point i was turning it off, hope ive not jinxed it now lol

Yes just click tab button and on the bottom left should be a button for secret mode while the right has button for regular new tab. It's really convenient and useful especially since it has fingerprint lock on it. Love it.

That's why I would like to have it too, but I only have a big button for a regular tab. I don't know if there is a special app I deactiavted settings? I already looked, but I don't see a relation between them

Today Samsung sent me the new update for the browser but secret mode still not working ,the message of compatability in the store is now gone

It seems like it's firmware specific issue. Have you tried to update/flash different roms to see if the issue still persists? Maybe the dev disabled too many things and it's causing incompatibilities.

I have tried with the stock carrier firmware, right out of the configuration screen opening the browser still no change, also with echoe ROM, same result
I have that feature but now its gone after installing costum rom but im back with the stock and still it did not comback.
Read the other thread.. due to knox being flagged.

I lost the "enable secret" button when i rooted my phone :/

It seems that after the update to internet browser 5.0 (that brought new UI) there is no more private mode.
I think secret mode uses Knox
@waterdaan Perhaps it's something introduced in Internet browser v5, as it worked fine with v4 and I was rooted already.
