[Q] Run RDX Tool? SM-T230NU Won't Boot - Galaxy Tab 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My tablet is stuck on a black screen when I turn it on that says "Power Upload Reasonower Key" and below that "H/W Revision : 0.3". If I plug it into my computer, "RUN RDX TOOL" shows up on the black screen. A wipe with twrp did this. Is my tablet dead? Is there anyway to fix this?

First why were you wiping? Were you trying to flash a rom, and if so what happened when you tried? Or did you wipe and then immediately try to reboot for some reason (if so why)? Are you still able to boot into twrp?
Are you in Canada or the U.S.? If U.S. here is your tablet's stock firmware image Odin file. Instructions on how to use Odin to reset your tablet completely back to factory stock condition can be found here. Be warned when using Odin to return to stock, any files, media, data, etc. will most likely be erased, irretrievably so unless you've already made a backup.

Yes, I was wiping to try and install a rom. It wouldn't let me install after I wiped. It kept saying failed to mount on every drive. So I turned it off thinking it would help somehow. I'm pretty new to this stuff. I used Odin to restore it back to stock firmware but it's still at the same "Run RDX Tool" screen. Before I tried the restore stock firmware I installed two different custom roms to see if they would help any. They both worked when I clicked reboot now after installing them in TWRP but they took a long time to load and if I turned my tablet off it would go right back to the "Run RDX Tool" screen and I'd have to install the custom rom again.

Somebody found meanwhile RAMDUMP Tool?
I am searching for:
RDX_5.7_TEST_3.exe
(RDX_5.7_TEST_3.zip)
Found via Google, but not able to download...
Please share.
Thanx in advance.

[Q] Factory Mode

I recently ran into difficulty wherein my emulated/0 partition was borked after using TWRP recovery. In an effort to fix it I reformatted a partition (no idea which one I just followed some terminal commands from someone with a similar issue) and now the phone displays a brief message about being in factory mode (comes on for two-three seconds then disappears) and shuts off WiFi. Once I enable it the phone is fine.
I have looked at the various fixes for this but when I went into the efs / factory mode folder the two files mentioned in all the fixes are not there. I created them and gave them owner information, but this does not help.
Any thoughts? Would a flash back to stock solve this?
Hopefully you didn't just randomly delete the EFS partition without backing it up first

Try flashing stock ROM with the correct PIT file

@*Detection* Will flashing the stock ROM replace the PIT file? Again, I don't know what partition was formatted. The factory mode overlay briefly displays then dissapears. The phone is fully functional and has not lost it's identity, just the annoyance of having to turn WiFi back on. Other than that, I do not know what other functions are limited (as it says on the factory mode overlay).

The PIT file will repartition the phone, then the stock ROM will be flashed
Load them both into ODIN at the same time
Try flashing just the stock ROM first, could just be something messed up
If the phone works, and has an IMEI, then the EFS partition sounds like it's safe (Back it up ASAP)

Any ideas on how to rid of the factory mode overlay? If not I will flash stock then rebuild again.
Not had any experience with factory mode before, so no unfortunately
There is a thread about Demo Mode kicking about

No worries and thank you for the replies. I will give it one more time.
Any thoughts on TWRP borking up the emulated/0 partition? Seems to happen everytime I do a backup (or soon thereafter).
Not had any problems with TWRP, flashed it on about 4 different ROM builds and it's worked fine each time
Sure you're flashing the latest?
I use TWRP Manager from G Play after rooting with CF Auto Root to flash it on mine

But the TWRP Manager app will install the latest anyway

Correct, that is what I am running. I could not remember the last digit without going back into recovery.
@*Detection* What are the lines of text that display when you first boot into recovery on your phone? I am curious because mine says something about not running seanandroid, or something to that effect. They dissapear pretty fast but I think that is what is in red text.

Same, just means you're running custom
@*Detection* After I revert to stock, assuming everything goes back OK, can I then obtain root and re-flash my custom ROM and then do a restore from the backup I am making now? Would this (the restore) defeat the purpose of what I am doing?
"secure check fail : pit"
This is what I get when I try to repartition with an extracted pit for this phone. Any ideas how to make it work?

dm-verity verification failed

2 days ago i flashed twrp on my pure stock note 4, i did backup my rom including EFS using twrp and then flash kyubi rom with nameless kernel, it all went well. just now i wipe data ,system, cache on twrp and restore my backup stock rom and it went well too...and then i try to flash stock rom using odin so i can get back the stock recovery mode for OTA update when MM releases.. the flashing was a sucess and phone booted but my data inside werent wipe.
so i went to recovery mode and saw this dm-verity verification failed on the bottom i proceed to wipe data and reboot my phone, its all working now no problems except i cant reset my phone with the setting inside it will just bring me to recovey mode and stay there with that message.
now i did some research, some saying will bootloop and stuffs but mine is all ok no problem except i cant reset it inside the settings..
anyone can help me get rid of that message/problem?
If you format everything in advance format in twrp and then flash stock firmware this message will go away.
got the same problem. Then I went to a local store. They helped me. Here are steps
1. Pull out your battery, check your serial number (S/N:....)
2. Download smart switch, enter emergency software recovery..... Enter your serial number
3. Turn off your phone. Enter download mode or sth ( I don't remember it clearly. just power + vol down or up. just try it)
4. Smart switch will recognize your phone. Choose a firmware to download. then wait
5. Enjoy stock firmware
Use kies3 reinstall drivers, then use emergency recovery in kies to reinstall your current firmware or opt to update to latest or most recent release or version then follow kies instructions
rooted s5 smg900r4
Hello everyone
I have found a way to fix dm-verity and DRK issues and it works like official, meaning no errors in stock recovery and OTA works with Official firmware, the problem is related to corrupted/deleted 3 files on /efs partition. I have tested it on SM-N910C so I guess it works on other Exynos variants, perhaps even on snapdragon if the partition layout is similar? Kies won't restore DRK or dm-verity check because it doesn't write to EFS. I can fix yours if someone is interested via Team Viewer, you will need the following:
1. PM contact me for Skype ID
2. Stock rom, rooted (any root method)
3. Adb debugging enabled and drivers installed (Kies or SmartSwitch)
After repair you can enter your stock recovery and confirm there is no DRK/dm-verity red letters error.
Regards,
magix01
please guide us the proceedure here .. i have a phone with same problem & i have to update it to MM ...

If you just unlocked your bootloader and thats it, your rom should still be the stock one.

TWRP on S7 without OEM unlock? (bricked phone)

I have a bricked S7 edge with data I need to recover - the factory software update failed.
I can get to download mode and recovery mode (wipe cache etc.) but the phone will not boot.
My first thought was to root and install TWRP so I could access the phones storage over USB, but I dont have the OEM unlock option enabled.
Do I have any other options?
I think the only solution is flash with odin
Flash it with odin
But....
When flashing choose CSC
not home csc
Are you sure I should flash CSC? doesnt that wipe all the data?
Home_CSC: Flash the firmware without wiping the data (if you just want to update the ROM)
CSC: Flash the firmware along with a complete wipe including data (mostly used in cases like bricked phones or Go-Back-To-Stock situations)
I tried to flash Home_CSC but it still wont boot.
It rebooted and "Installing System Update"
then "no command" with yellow exclamation mark.
Is it possible to enable OEM unlock from ADB? Or any other way without booting?
If I can flash TWRP I can download pictures etc. over USB. Then perform a full factory reset.

I tried that before but it doesn't work for me. my problem is after flashing, the phone is not able to initialize and boot. it keeps restarting, whether I flash only AP or all 4 of them, it passes and flashes successfully but then gets into endless rebooting....
Uhm if you have Twrp installed it actually activates MTP while inside it, so you can just grab your files from your computer
Edit : oh so you don't have twrp yet, sorry nvm im drunk

Download the latest firmware from sammobile for your model and put all files in odin. Use home csc if you don't want to wipe date. Should work without any probs.
Someone tell me how to install twrp with or without unlocking the bootloader :crying::crying:
My phone won't stop restarting even after flashing frimware and I can't enable OEM option
I need to flash no verity opt encrypt with twrp to fix this :crying:

S8 G950F - stuck on verification following unroot.

hi
ive got a s8, which was rooted using magisk, but was having issue, so was advised to unroot, remote and try superSU instead.
in the process of flashing stock rom AND 8.0, the phone now boots up to black screen showing verification failed, only option to reset.
when i press reset, all it does is restarts, loads up TWRP which had been installed before,
TWRP runs some program and fails and then phone goes back to black screen showing verification failed.
ive booted it into download mode, in the hope that i can just start again by simply lashing fresh stock rom, but it connects to odin fine, but when i click start, it gives a red error every time.
so i cant access the standard recovery menu as ive got TWRP so that loads instead and it looks as that is corrupted and i cant flash new fresh rom from download as odin brings up issue
ive check another phone and there is no issue with odin or the usb-c cable,
there is an issue with the s8 and odin does not like something in the s8 so wont let me flash anything to it,
any advice would be greatly appreicated.
When you flashed the stock rom using odin did you flash a bootloader aswell as the rom or did you just flash the rom the problem might be that the bootloader was for pie and the rom is oreo or vice versa whenever I flash back to stock I fill all but one of the boxes in odin
i suspect it was all oreo, as i downloaded as a complete file but ill check and get back to you
thanks for advice.

[sm j730f] Bootloader fail and TWRP boots into black screen

Greetings everyone,
I decided to post my problem with my phone after searching the entire internet for similar problem but with no luck. Anyway I used to play around with my Samsung j7 pro for 2 years, I managed to flash twrp and thus many other custom roms, until last week when I recklessly flashed a sboot.img.tar file through Odin in order to fix cellular network in a rom I flashed earlier, this alone bricked my phone refusing to get past the Samsung logo, so like I do always, I tried to restore my phone by flashing the stock firmware (9.0) which I always keep on my PC, but surprise, the phone refuses to go through the process and gives me this error:
sw rev check fail bootloader device -1 binary 6
(same with 8.0 and 7.0 firmware)
I searched the internet for same error but with no luck, because I understand it's a mismatch between device bootloader current version and the firmware bootloader's, that they should be the same or higher, meaning you can't downgrade, I get that! but I never seen device with negative figure (-1) what that's supposed to mean? my device bootloader used to be on 6, how did it managed to jump to minus one ?
then I tried to flash TWRP to see if I could flash a rom and get around it, so I did, but when booting into recovery the screen goes black, I thought first the phone turned off, but not really, because TWRP seems to work with screen completely black, I knew that because I accidentally touch the screen and I sense vibration, I managed to reboot the phone via twrp just by guessing the buttons location (screen always black) in order to prove that TWRP is working with screen off. I tried to flash multiple TWRP versions but the same problem, no screen just touch, by the way there is nothing wrong with display hardware because it shows Samsung logo at start and also can boot into download mode just fine.
I hope someone could help me overcome this big of an issue, because I tried everything.

First, can you try installing any custom rom, blindly(since you said the screen is black when you boot in recovery).
Second, can you try flashing stock firmware without the BL part in Odin?

I tried blindly many times flashing any custom rom but with no luck since it's really hard predicting the buttons location on the screen, I probably need another phone replica with working twrp to mimick the exact moves.
For stock firmware, I manage to install it without BL but when booting it's just stuck on the Samsung logo, and when booting into stock recovery nothing just black screen, and booting into download mode it seems that the installation didn't change the binary -1, since I could see it on the screen

Can you try flash other sboot files from the link you gave me? Try to flash some sboot file, and then make full flash of your stock firmware.
If not, maybe you can try flashing sboot with heimdal https://www.glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/
I have the same issue, any help or advice?
Flash Ășltimo bootloader e modem CP
Flash Any Custom ROM
Did you flash misc partition ?
If your device keep booting in blackscreen, you need to erase misc partition.
Here, is the guide for erasing MISC partition: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...omi-redmi-note-9-xiaomi-redmi-10x-4g.4209299/
The guide is for REDMI NOTE 9, so if you try to perform the method 1, you can cause more damages to your device.
Please, follow METHOD 2 only !
If TWRP is not working perfectly, obviously you need to flash stock rom recovery.img.
Good luck
