I won't lie and say it's an easy process but if you take the time to set it up you can save alot of battery
1. Green power premium. To regulate WiFi when screen is off. WiFi is the biggest killer of your battery. I have WiFi when screen is on and when screen is off, WiFi goes off and comes on every 15 mins for 1 minute. This way I don't miss any emails or chats but don't have WiFi continuously on when the phone isn't being used. GPP is a paid app but there are several free apps that offer the same functionality.
2. Greenify to hibernate background apps that don't need to be running constantly
3. Switch off gps/location when not in use. Seriously you'd be surprised how many people have their location constantly on. My gf does this and it bugs me alot. Whenever I pick up her phone and it's on I always switch it off.
4. Lollipop touchwiz rom debloated and emotion kernel UC 1.8ghz and UV -25mV.
Several other small tweaks but the main steps above should get you some good battery savings that can be channelled towards more screen on time [emoji2]
---------- Post added at 03:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:46 PM ----------
Disclaimer:
Note that my SOT is without power saving mode or UPSM enabled, stock battery (not big extended battery) and phone is still very smooth with no lags.
Btw I don't want to start a debate about some of the tips like Greenify; some people think it works, some disagree. I'm just stating what I use.
Currently over 4 hours SOT with 54% left so definitely capable of more than 8 hours SOT.
All these with moderate usage (youtube, calls, whatsapp, etc)

Battery life sucks

2 hours on the phone did this to my battery. Screen time was 48 mins. Screen was off on call using BT. Phone was red hot after call

It is something you installed or something on your setting up the phone.
this phone battery is amazing , trust me it is.
I get screen on times , unthinkable to my previous phones with brightness way way higher
so.. just try to figure out what is eating your batt and why.
edit:
then again you didnt start your battery log with 100% batt
and your drain was due to a very phone cal (?) With screen off, but your network signal suck really bad, maybe is from there ? But even with low coverage I find it hard to imagine that drain.
But then again.. never had low coverage ..
Yeah I can assure you it's something in your settings that is giving you poor life. You didn't give much description of what they are so it's tough for me to help you with what to fix, or how much knowledge you already have. I recommend BetterBatteryStats and Battery Mix for starters.
Install BBS (Better Battery Stats) and find the rogue application that is causing battery drain.
Battery life for me is amazing. I get close to 28-30 hours with mid - heavy usage.

Your signal during this two hour call was awful. Keeping a connection while not using the phone is a battery sucker in these conditions. I imagine it is much more so when you are actually on the phone. I'd suspect that as the culprit, as the radio has to be pumped up to the max constantly, instead of every minute or so.
I had a note 2 on same network and never saw this kind of drain. I think this qualcomm chip is ****. In my settings my cpu was at 2.27ghz for 1 hour 43 mins! Why was my cpu maxed out while making a simple call.?

[Q] Is this normal battery drain?

Ok guys, I keep hearing people ranting and raving about this phone's battery, however I feel that mine is either faulty or everyone else is exaggerating. On a typical day, of normal usage, heavy web browsing, occasional 10 minute game session, I can get about 4 hours screen on time, and about 14 hours total time before it's dead and I need to charge. I have minimal wake-locks now that I've figured the majority of them out, and keep location services on device sensor only. My device is deep sleeping more than being awake, and will last quite a while while asleep, battery doesn't seem to abnormally drain while asleep. Every time I've been able to track it down to a wake-lock issue if it has.
It's draining very fast (it seems) while screen is on though. Wifi calling is almost always on the majority of the time.
Any ideas? Is this way off? Or is this the norm?
I've done the usual factory restores and all that, and still no improvement.
Thanks!
Example:
Are you using a custom kernel? You could try dorimanx's and heavily skew the CPU towards a lighter load
I used to get 4h on screen time for quite a while, but k realised that it was cos of 4G @ and the way I used my phone. If you read a lot and hardly launch or close anything the battery life gets better very quickly
Sent from my LG-D802
That seems about right.
On stock I get between 4 and 6 hours screen time and about 24 hours on battery. Being on WiFi rather than 3g helps a lot and turning down the screen brightness.

Do you guys have similar averages? (Seen at bottom of image)

Terrible Battery Life on Comparison to Others. Suggestions?.

WTF is going on with my battery? I have the S7 Flat snapdragon version (G930v) running the G930u software unrooted which removes all carrier bloat. Screen brightness is set to a little past half way. I have all setting provided by stock software optimized for maximum battery life other than running AOD. I am running a black Wallpaper/Lockscreen/ and an All black theme from the Theme Engine.. I Repeat, I have all stock firmware options Optimized for battery. Every single one. Wth hell is going on here. My battery time is looking Rediculous in comparison. Someone help me out here.

I feel asleep around 3am I guess with 89% and woke up just now close to 11. Heres battery over that 8hr period. 5% during that time. Standby drain is not bad it seems. But only 10hrs on 100% is crazy low compared to what some of you guys are getting.
End of Trial:
What can I do to get this increased.?
4.5 Hr of SOT is very Good. I am on the U firmware also and get 3 SOT. When you make comparisons, compare to SD Soc not the Samsung Exnos. You can download Gsam Battery and give it more permissions thru ADB and monitor. I noticed my proximity sensor (2) are giving high wakelocks.
The SD vs Exnos makes that much of a difference? I'm seeing people get 5.5-6.5screen on time in the main s7 thread. Granted not many relay the information as to weather they have SD/Exnoys or Flat/Edge.
4.5 hours when compared to 6 average over there, eh to me that's on the low end. I'd be losing my mind if I was only getting 3SoT.
I miss removable battery functionality.
Do you guys leave your screens on 24/7 or something? I use my phone quite a bit, but get 24 hours to a charge.
Is this ok?
At this brightness level plus I have turned off buttons backlight.

I get around 4 hours sot when I get home, here is my day with my phone.
730am start streaming audio books through Bluetooth facebook sms email.
4pm stop streaming books 75% battery.
5pm games facebook email sms.
10pm bed time, end the day with 330 to 4 hours sot and 15%battery remaining.

Post your Battery stats! (6045)

Hi there, i just wanted to make this post to know your battery stats and share mine too, for the 6045B (Idol 3 5.5')
In my case, i got a rom from 4PDA from 22FEB, i asked if i'm allowed to post it but i still have no answer, so i will just give the name
ROM_AOSP-6045Y (don't get confused on the name, it is based on 6045Y rom, and yes i installed the 6045Y rom into 6045B phone (Chile/Argentina Variant))
in this rom, i got the best results ever, and here i will share them
First at 32% (it is sort of mixed English/Spanish, don't pay attention to that)

as can you see, impressive (and i played some games in the meanwhile)
then i just played until 11%
Then, finally, at 1/2%, with this impressive SoT
And this is game time i played
in total 1 hour and 20 minutes of play time
i guess if i didn't played i would get more than 6 hours of SoT
I clarify that i use Battery Saver Pro and NapTime
so, what is your battery life? it is better? then which rom do you use?
Right now I`m getting something like 5 hours on screen using chrome, messenger, spotify at once (heavy use, like u can see) and modded with xposed, added google assistant with google ok detection and ambient display. LineageOS 13 with Greenify only
Still waiting for update, cause doze will be enabled and with luck I will get 1 or 2 more hours
Of course I still experimenting with CPU profiles
@MichaelGK nice, are you using the latest build or it is the first posted? i could not get more than 4 hours SoT in lineageOS, did you try Naptime or forcedoze?

Every app that doze not working cause there`s no enabled doze in LineageOS right now, it will be enabled at update... I think it should be online in few hours.
And I think greenify did the job better. It got force doze and much more features, also configuration is very simple. Best to use it with root and xposed.
For more features you can buy donation pack or just search for it, but better to buy, cause it`s worth this few dollars

Battery Life of the S7 Edge?

My S7 Edge Battery life is very strange , I use power saving mode (Mid) with Res set on FHD, and I can say, I maybe last 8 hours or so ? Maybe 4 hours screen on time. If I use the normal mode, the battery drains like hell. Yet, when I use max power saving , I can go hours without 1% dropping off my battery. Is this how the S7 Edges are or is my battery at fault somehow?
Note this was before Oreo and still is the same after.

My battery lasts 17 hours with 4 to 5 hours sot, depends as some days I hardly use my phone as much as other days
You can check your battery cycles and battery health percentage via the app "Phone info - Samsung" in the play store.
I ended up replacing the battery for that extra 5-10%+ from a new battery. Phone lasts a day or two depending on how much I use it, I'm not a heavy user but I do have Wi-Fi, 4G, go on reddit / browse etc). I charge every morning and night so pretty much only get to as low as 60% every day.
Is this original or fake guys
