Can somebody clear up the model SGS4 numbers we see being mentioned in various threads?
I see i9505 and i9500 and I assume that is the U.S. and non-U.S. versions, or Exynos 8-core and Qualcomm 4-core models, respectively.
I am also seeing model numbers such as SGH-M919, which is my U.S. T-Mobile SG4 (16GB, black) model number.
So, I am assuming that last model number I mentioned is a variant of the i9505, but I don't see that model number anywhere in my documentation.
Can some folks post their model numbers along with the phone carrier, size and color? maybe we can get a clearer picture of what these model numbers and model variants are.
Thanks!
Galaxy S4 I9500 (8-core) (Exynos octa version)
Galaxy S4 Duos I9502
Galaxy S4 I9505 (LTE) (Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 version)
Has anyone tried this method on I9505 MDM firmware? This is supposed to be un-rootable
EDIT::: OOOPS wrong thread

Okay, answering some of my own questions here. Here is a wiki showing the different model numbers:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S4#Model_variants
I9505 is an International model number for LTE versions with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor
The following are U.S. models that are basically the I9505 with differences in software (ROM and enabled radios)
AT&T SGH-I337
T-Mobile SGH-M919
Verizon SCH-I545
Sprint SPH-L720
Some of these may be bootloader locked, so I guess that is important to know if looking to root. Most rooting info I have seen talks only about the I9505 or I9500 international model numbers.
Maybe someone could explain the MDE, MDN, and MDM variants of the I9505 model number?

I put my comment in the wrong thread LOL but what I mean is the MDM kernel ... I have MDM firmware but my kernel date is April 12 which is not MDM. The date of the MDM firmware + Kernel... should say 25/26th April...

Hi,
Mine is: SPH-L720
WHITE, 16gb
SPRINT, Los Angeles
send from my newly purchased & rooted SGS4 using xda developers app
USCC is SCH-R970.
Sent via SCH-I925U Note 10.1 LTE
Korean versions are SHV-E300K, SHV-E300L and SHV-E300S for KT, LG and SK telcos respectively
So is it alright to use mods/roms as long as it is for the same cpu model?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2
If you have access and can buy 9500 and 9505 at the same price which would you get?
Which one is better between the two to get for the long run?

Hello! I've got a Galaxy Note 4 Exynos (N910K) from South Korea. And i'm wondering if it's possible to flash other version like (N910C, U, etc...) onto this device, because there's almost no development for this specific one. Is it possible?
I have samsung note 4 N910K. Can I install international stock rom on it?
Nope, as the Korean version of the Note 4 is spefically designed to be used in Korean not internationally. So there is no international firmware for it.

It doesn't seem that the person who created that video actually flashed the international firmware onto his Korean Note 4. As it would have taken much longer for it to install on their device. Trust me I've done it before and the way that person did is definitely not the way you install stock Samsung firmware onto a device. It seems he installed custom firmware that mimics the feel of stock Samsung firmware. Plus the N910K has LTE-A capabilities, which the N910C doesn't. So installing the firmware of the N910C on the N910K might actually damage the LTE-A modem.
