Hi . does anyone out there know how to get past the disclaimer screen on tasker on the nexus player as the normal tick\cross do not appear and won't let me through to create profiles
Ditto, cannot seem to get past this screen (so bump this thread)
had similar issues on Adaway. It seems the apps must be optimised in order to work properly.
I used helium backup to backup the state of tasker. You can also use Titanium but it requires root

I like this idea so I thought I'd give it a try. Backed Tasker up to Helium... Now what? Can't install Helium on the Nexus Player because it wants me to turn on USB debugging and PTP. Not sure what to do about that. Do I need to actually connect it to my computer? Because it's going to be very difficult moving the TV or computer to be near each other so I can see what's on the Nexus Player. Or is there some way to bypass that? Some way to restore a backup on the Nexus Player without installing Helium? Am I missing something? It seems all I've done is trade one app that doesn't work on the Nexus Player for another one. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys,
I've read the answer to this somewhere on the MT4G thread here but can't find it anymore for some reason.
I've rooted with the S off and all that good stuff and I do remember someone saying Titanium Backup would be a good way to remove all the T-Mobile stuff but....
1-I don't remember what is safe to remove
2-How exactly can I remove the stuff with Titanium Backup?
I'd appreciate if someone can direct me to the right thread or just help me out.
P.S: On a separate question, when I try to write someone's name on Handcent SMS into the TO part, contacts are showing in doubles. One without a dash between the numbers and one with a dash between the numbers in the format of 555-444-3333(the american way) It also happens on an app I use called Fast Dialer. I checked my contacts/view and I only have one selected which is PHONE.
Thanks again.

thanks mate.
I know this might sound stupid but I get this screen below on the backup/restore section of TB and I can't seem to figure out how to freeze apps through this section.

click on "problems?" and it'll download the busy box, titanium backup will restart and you'll see the apps installed.
great. thanks a million. they are all in there now.
I used Root Explorer. I just selected the apps I wanted out, cut them and made a folder in my SD card. I pasted them there just in case I need to put them back. As soon as I did that, they were gone from my app drawer.
"Freeze" them in Titanium. It will remove them from your drawer listing but keeps all files on the phone in the event they are needed for future upgrades. You'll forget they ever existed; and you can "unfreeze" them later to put them back in the app drawer if you ever want to use them again.

or... MAKE A NANDRID... then uninstall them and free up the space on your phone... you can make backups first and restore them in the future if necessary or you can skip the backup crap and use the nandroid to restore in the future...
thanks for all the responses guys.
Hey guys, i found this awesome app here on xda and thought i would share it with the inc community. What it does is restore your apps and app data (user and system) from a nandroid to your current rom. It can also restore wifi settings , bluetooth settings, bookmarks, home screen shortcuts, etc... It is in beta right now and not on the market yet, but works well on the inc thanks to some fixes by the developer. Here is the apps thread if anyone is interested. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044414
Thanks man but can't TB already do this? Never tried it though.
On a side note, or the same. Looking to get a new phone in the coming months, TB will be able to transfer game saves (like angry birds) from the incredible to another droid without a problem right?

I dont know if TB can do this or not. I paid for and tried TB a while ago and found it over complicated, so i got a refund. My understanding is that TB has to run its own backup on an old rom and then restores it to a newly flashed rom. Where this app cuts out a step and extracts the apps and data from a nandroid you were going to make any way. Also for the moment at least, this app is free.

What apps are opening and typing? What are they saying?
In theory a factory reset should wipe it off your device, assuming its not some app thats been installed to the system partition. If you unlocked your bootloader, installed twrp (a recovery for the n7) then wiped everything and then installed a custom rom it would remove everything and re-install fresh and do the trick. Then you could flash back your stock rom and recovery ect and be back to normal

it opens radon apps and typing something like pppppppppppppplllllllllldddddddyyyyyyyyyyvvvv
and I don't know anything about root or rom
so I only know to do factory recovery
thank you

Sounds like a defective (or possibly a dirty) touch screen issue to me.
What happens when you disconnect from Wifi? Do you continue to get similar problem?
Rgrds,
Ged.
Ged,
I don't think is dirt problem, cuz it looks like someone intentionally remote control my N7
I try to disconnect wifi, and it back to normal but sometimes it happens again
sometime when i play candy crush it moves by itself
thanks

No one is controlling your n7 remotely. They would need an app for that on your n7....if there is even such a thing.
Its a screen problem. Definitely.
Warranty it.

You have a hardware problem, not a malware one.

Once again, it is 100% a hardware issue, so you can dispense with the paranoia. The fact is that you do not have your tablet configured in such a way that one could install or run any type of remote access app without your knowledge and consent.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
this is Linux not Windows. Anything trying to install anything (if you are rooted) would popup the the confirmation to grant root access. If 'it' survived a factory reset, it's not software.

KNOW Your Device ...
Its your wife or maybe mother... Check the su or super user app to see what apps have root privileged. Also keep a eye on what apps are running by going to Settings Applications Running applications. YOU Will see the app start to run . If you are really concerned take root access away from all system and user apps in the su or super user app. then anything that could run and do what you are thinking will Have to ask for root again.. Since i agree with the other post . NONE Of the above will pop up a suspect app .
I know this post is not needed all But atleast it tells him how to check for himself what is going on with his apps and running services....
I think it might be your screen protector cuz it looks really bad from the 2nd video.

This ^ might indeed be worth checking out prior to sending the unit back for replacement - take the protector off and see if the problem persists. (TBH though, I can't tell from the video if the protector is non-uniform or that is a reflected pattern from the ceiling in the room where the video was made.)
The OP would not be the first person to encounter an overly sensitive touchscreen (low level noise becomes "false touches") with or without a screen protector, but generally screen protectors will make the situation worse if the touchscreen is too sensitive to begin with.
The OP's post is an excellent example of a violation of the "Occam's Razor" principle - when presented with alternate explanations for a given phenomena that equally well describe the observed behavior, the simpler of the two explanations should be presumed. In this case, an overly-sensitive touch screen that generates rapid random touch events is a far simpler explanation than assuming that someone has hacked your device and is remote-controlling it (via a non-existent API) with seemingly random input... right in front of the OP's face.

You are correct in that it is not needed. He is not rooted , and therefore does not have superuser or, by extension any third party apps with root access. It is not an app issue

I think he's given up on our advice! LOL. If he believes he's being hacked....on a tab no less, I'm sure his mind won't change.

I'm guessing you've got some really important info worth stealing on your N7?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Your device has NOT been hacked. There is an issue with the digitizer, and you are getting false touches. You are still locked and unrooted, so you are, most likely, still within the warranty period. Please call customer to support to set up an RMA for troubleshooting/repair.
OR, you can wipe the whole tablet to see if the issue persist. I am almost certain the tablet will still behave that way after a reset, but you can try if you want.

It's not copying app's data as i know
The TMO manual says it will copy some 'appliance' data. That's probably the problem
I already tried and some apps were copied alright, some others not. There were a few ones, mostly financial apps. But definitely it copies data.
Like others said you can use One Plus Switch.
Otherwise, stop being lazy. People will copy over app data and other things from one device to another and then a week later will come on here complaining why something else on the device is glitchy and not working right. I've got over 100 apps. Throw on some headphones and jam some music or throw on the TV and watch some sports while you click each app and do some basic setup. Dedicate the hour or two and get it done once and right and call it a day.
Hi guys,
As above. My nice, shiny new Note 7 won't backup my device to my Google Account. Backup Now is greyed out and all of the things to backup display, "Waiting to Backup."
Any ideas?
Thanks.

It's a general problem, every device is affected. Only know "solution" is disabling every screen lock method and magically the button is no longer grayed, so you can manually backup and then re enable screen lock.
Every time you need to backup you have to do this
