Hi,
Applicable for all Kitkat and Lollipop users of the handset.
If you are receiving SMS but are having problems sending SMS messages, maybe your Message Center Number is not properly configured.
Call up your operator customer care and ask for the Message Center Number.
Note it down.
Open phonepad.
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Tap Phone Information.
Scroll to the bottom.
In the space after "SMSC:", enter the number provided.
Tap "Update".
Don't mess with the other settings if you are a newbie.
Go to your messaging app.
Send Message.
Cheers!

When I received a sms from a unknown contact, how do I call from number shown in the sms w/o saving the contact first?
When on the Messages tab, click on "All Messages" then find the sender and highlight them. Press the Call key next to the Home key to bring up another screen to verify the number, then press "Call"
That's helpful, thanks...

Please help
nope, what version of code are you running and what app are you using to send texts?
I can not send any text messages. Recieving messages are no problem. But when I want to answer or a make new massage, when I send, it says "Unable to send message after multiple attempts"
Any ideas on this?
EDIT:
I have it also with some other ROMs, only when I go back to stock ROM the problem is gone..
I'm currently on ChocolateEclair, had same issue with VanillaEclair 4.0 and MoDaCo 3.2.
*wrong section*
Close pls.
Since it's not closed yet I can post my solution At least this worked for me.
Go to Messages, then press menu, preferences. Then you will see "Service Center Number" or something like that.
If it's blank, go to google and type the following:
-> "your provider here" Service Center number <-
If you find the number type it down under "Service Center Number".
After doing all that you should be done.
Folks, is it just me or is there a trick I have missed?
When I get a voicemail and I try to call my voicemail box by tapping on the message asking me to call my voicemail and I end up having to hit the screen 3 times !
I get the Incoming message stating
"Please call 321, You have N new voiceMail messages"
I CLICK ON THE NUMBER and get the menu pop up with the number and several options e.g. Forward, delete message etc
I CLICK ON THE NUMBER (AGAIN!)
Then I get another screen asking me to verify the number with three options - call, send message and save to people
I CLICK ON THE NUMBER AGAIN!!
I press on the CALL button and hold down the number "1" and it'll dial voicemail (that is if i dont see it near the top of my recent calls...in which case i'll just tap on it). So really, it involves two presses to call voicemail.
Thanks, didn't realise the 1 number key was preset to voicemail. At least that is some improvement. You would have hoped the number in the incoming message being clickable would have automatically dialled the number for you but what the heck.
Thanks again
I've experienced several anomalies in the SMS:ing software (apart from the time stamp issue).
FIRST:
According to the i-8000 manual sending SMS should be as simple as these five steps.
1. Tap Start > Message.
2. Tap the little write a letter symbol
3. Tap Tap to add recipients to enter a contact
4. Tap the message field and enter your message text.
5. Tap Send to send the message.
Everything works fine except step 5, where I get an error message "Address is not permitted."
This is adding in recipients from my telephone book contact list.
SECOND
If I instead start the SMS by tapping the little letter symbol in the telephone book under the contact's profile, I get the same error message. I'm still able to call the person, so the number is not wrong.
So anyone who've got similar problems? Been able to solve this?
Thanks!!
