Hello everybody,
I'm experiencing a strange issue with my Find5.
I made a backup with Titanium and with System Tuner: connecting phone to my PC and browsing in My Computer I can access Titanium and System Tuner folders, but inside or I don't see the backup folder, or (for Titanium) I see an item with no extension which is not a folder and weights only 4KB.
Browsing in the phone I correctly see the backups.
I've tried several times in past 3 days. Rebooted, wiped cache and dalvik, but no way.

I have rooted froyo & have noticed that after the update some, not all, items that i have put into folders will randomly disappear, then i have to put them back in, only to have them disappear again. I have also noticed that the items (games) that disappear seem to be ones that I have restored from Titanium Backup...Things that I have downloaded fresh from the market seem to stay in the folders when i put them there....any ideas?
what folders specifacally? in /data? /system? do you have R/W access? do you have the latest busybox?
bear with me...kinda new to all this...i'mtalking about the folders that i place on the homescreen...i have 3 different ones...Games, Radios, News...it happens in all three...i go to place a shortcut (from a restored Titanium item), it puts it in folder...then randomly (from an hour to half a day later) they disappear & I have to re-place them again into folder. Like I said it only seems to happen with restored apps, not newly downloaded. As far as R?W access, I do. Not so sure about latest busybox.
hi everybody
I used Titanium to backup all apps and data and in backup folder there are 3 files for each app( *.properties , *.tar.gz and *.apk.gz)
after I changed my rom, copied the backup folder to my sd but when I go to Titaninm,I dont see any app or data to restore.
what should I do?
You have to have those backed up files exactly in following folder:
sdcard/TitaniumBackup/
In case they are not there exactly, the program can't find them.
Also, you can install them manually one by one, if that doesn't work, in each of those 3 files, 1 can be used for installation of the program.
First, LOVE the "similar thread" search results, pure awesomeness. Sadly, they didn't have the answer or question related to the problem I'm seeing.
Regardless of whether I'm on my PC laptop or MacBook, the files I see in windows explorer/android file transfer aren't the same as what's on the device.
For example, I wiped my titanium backup folder to create fresh backups. After deleting all the files I used Root Explorer to go in and verify that the TitaniumBackup folder in "/sdcard/" was empty, and it was.
Plug my phone into both the PC/Mac, it's still showing files in that folder from before I deleted them. Same with my text/sms backup, I use rerwares mybackuppro and it saves everything as zip files. Saved everything, went into the folder in we/aft, didn't show the zip I just created, showed zips from the previous days.
Now, if I wait like a day or so, and then go back into the phone, it's like it finds them then, like what I'm seeing on the phone isn't up to date or something with what I see on computers (this makes me miss external SD cards, very very badly).
Anyone else notice this? Happening with both N4's I have right now (one's a replacement, going back). Very frustrating in trying to transfer all of my info over but can't because it's not finding my backups that I just created.
Thanks for your time.
Jason
When I have my N4 connected to my Win7 PC using MTP, the contents of the /BeyondPod directory are incomplete. Most importantly, the Podcasts directory is missing.
When I search from root in Root Explorer for a specific podcast mp3 file, I see it in 4 locations:
/data/media/0/BeyondPod
/mnt/sdcard/BeyondPod
/mnt/shell/emulated/0/BeyondPod
/storage/emulated/0/BeyondPod
The setting for Podcast Download location in BeyondPod is:
/storage/emulated/0/BeyondPod/Podcasts
I see something similar in Titanium Backup. If I take a backup of my call logs and SMS/MMS, the new backups don't show up in the TitaniumBackup folder on my PC over MTP, rather in a folder called storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup.
The Titanium Backup setting is:
/storage/emulated/legacy
Again, if I search for my call log file in Root Explorer, I find it in the same mount points as BeyondPod:
/data/media/0/TitaniumBackup
/mnt/sdcard/TitaniumBackup
/mnt/shell/emulated/0/TitaniumBackup
/storage/emulated/0/TitaniumBackup
If I reboot the N4, the new backups will show up where expected. But, if I then take a fresh backup (in TiBu), the backup again shows up in that odd 'storage' location, and I see the old copy in the 'TitaniumBackup' folder.
Hi All,
For the second time in a year or so, my media files have all been wiped from default locations. About a day ago, I realised that everything from:
Internalsd/DCIM/**
Internalsd/DCIM/Downloads
externalsd/DCIM/**
All WhatsApp media files
it seems to have just been my media based files (pics, videos, sound files, pdfs), but the .thumbnail files are still there?
Last time I found some .nomedia files in some dirs, and removed them and apps were then able to see the files, as well as some files deleted which I painstaking recovered using Undeleter and GT Recovery, which got back the majority of them.
This time round however, the files have simply been wiped, Ive got no explanation. Using the undeletetion apps, I can see the files that I had previously deleted manually. But not the files I believe to have been wiped.
There was a dozen or so apps updated automatically via the play store the day before, but i couldnt say whether this was around the time the files were wiped. Also it seems that the files were only wiped from the 'default' media file locations. image files in dirs I had created are still there on externalSD.
I didnt have a backup of these media files, so I guess they are gone, unless anyone has any ideas?
What Im more concerned with is to discover why it happened and prevent it from happening again.
Im running CM12.1 nightlies, although I only update about once a week, never had a problem except this deletion issue twice.
Any ideas/comments/solutions most welcome - as Im pretty bemused.
Cheers.
