Newer ROMs don't seem to have the correct settings for the Ting APN. Make sure the network type is strictly CDMA/LTE and in particular that the APN Type is set as both DEFAULT and as mms (default, mms).
Hey guys, hoping someone can help me out here.
I'm on the "Ting" cell network using an LS980. Resurrect Remix ROMs worked well for me up until the 5.3.8 update (5.3.7 was the last version that still gave me cell data). The new 5.3.9 also causes issues and the SIM card even completely locks itself at times as it attempts to contact the network.
I just installed the latest Blisspop nightly ROM and am having the same issue. I know that older LiquidSmooth ROMs were also working properly for me aafter I used one of them as a Plan-B from Resurrect.
If anyone has any ideas as to what the issue could be please let me know. I'm going to try tinkering with my radio files soon and see if I get anywhere.
Bumping. sorry but this is getting really frustrating. I tried flashing the ZVC and ZV8 modems and it didn't make a difference.
ZVC modem actually crashed my phone (running Blisspop 2.2 latest nightly, stock kernel, TWRP 2.7.x recovery) after attempting to flash the ZVC modem without clearing the cache/dalvik afterwards.
I've now restored my phone to factory, stock ZVE ROM and rooted using StumpRoot. I'll be putting on the TWRP recovery soon.
If anyone has any ideas as to why I'm having radio/modem/signal problems on any Resurrect ROM past 5.3.7 and with the new Blisspop please let me know. I really want to get back on a non-bloated, up to date ROM.
>tfw
Bumping again. My phone is actually having a few other odd issues now after having to go back to stock with the ZVE .tot and re-rooting/recovery...
I'm still mostly concerned with the data signal though. I'll sort the rest out myself.
PLS SUM1
Ayyyyy Lmao

Hi all,
I've switched back to Touchwiz for the camera after having cyanogenmod on the phone.
Now it seems like a catastrophe - WIFI won't work with some roms (specifically touchwiz, and now touchwiz wont even boot) while making and receiving calls and texts won't work with lolipop or with cyanogenmod.
I've wiped totally in recovery before installing anything to ensure no issues, but I am at my wits end, about to buy an iPhone tomorrow because I need a reliable phone for business.
Any advice on what I might do? I have the I337M version (rogers)

Be sure you're flashing the correct ROM for your device. If it is correct, flash the ROM again, and your issues should be solved.

I've attempted to flash the correct cyanogenmod multiple times, and even tried official ROMS - I've even gone as far as doing an emergency touchwiz install both through ODIN and KIES - no luck
Not CyanogenMod, but stock. Flash it twice, if you haven't already done so. And make sure the stock ROM is the one for your device.

If all else fails, Odin back to stock.
Give the lollipop Google play edition rom a try, it's been rock solid for me and many others. I will say that for whatever reason, I was never able to get WiFi working in the hyperdrive rom (since rls19) I tried changing modems and what not, but switching to a different rom worked workout issue. Try golden eye rom or one of the others from iB.

Which lolipop rom do you use, might you have a link? L is gorgeous
Will try other ROMS. I've attempted to ODIN back to 4.2.2 but wifi is not working even with clean wipe.
Ok here is what is been happening so far..
I was on Kitkat 4.4.4 on a i9505 (can't remember the baseband info for that model - never had issues with it). I decided to update. So I downloaded a LP ROM and went ahead and backed up and then installed it. Everything seemed to be working fine except my mobile data connection. It would be stuck on 3G or H+ and when it hit the LTE (4G) it would have one bar. I never had this issue before. I was always on full LTE bars as the tower isn't far from my house.
I followed instructions n how to install new modem with LTE and how to update the bootloader accordingly. I tried more than 15 different modems with no luck.
When that failed, I flashed the stock LP ROM from SamMobile - same issue. So I decided to downgrade again to KitKat and flashed another ROM from SamMobile which is issued by Optus Australia and that failed too.
It's like there is a setting that isn't changing with flashing ROMs and stock ROMS. Basebands get updated and nothing.. I'm barely downloading at 600kbs where I was averaging minimum 1.5mb/s.
I don't know what else I've missed.. surely the stock KK ROM would've fixed the issue.. but nothing, as if I don't have LTE anymore.
You're help is much appreciated.
Over this issue =\ just want it gone.

I have flashed anything and everything to fix this issue with no luck.
previous to this day everything had been running smoothly, but now since i flashed the 39a bootstack to try out a new 5.1 rom on my vs980 i seem to have lost my LTE connection. how would i correctly repair this? i head flashing a stock rom would repair some sensors, would i leave the 12b bootstack on it, flash a stock build, then flash back to say, beanstalk? previously running liquidsmooth but they seem to have taken their lollipop builds off the server...
I have the same problem - flashed Cloudy ROM, kdz back to stock but now I don't have 4G. I'm about to just try a new SIM card and see if it went bad, because I saw LTE for one day a few weeks ago and this all happened back in January. I've reset APN's and did all of the tricks but no luck so far
Literally just got it to work a few minutes ago. As of this morning had NO service whatsoever, ended up flashing the rooted 39a lollipop stock I found here in the forums. I had to remove my sim card, boot the phone, then restart it with the sim card in place to get back to working order
So do you think it was a bad baseband or bootstack? Or just a faulty download from the start?
might be a baseband issue, but then again i havent really gotten a solid answer from anyone.
and just flashed to AoD rom tonight and lost LTE again. maybe it has something to do with aosp incompatibility? i know there have always been issues with cdma network of verizon, maybe it came back fresh with the lollipop update.
and i despise the stock roms... i would not be happy if thats the only way to fix this.

If you haven't try dialling *#*#4636#*#* and go to phone information and in the drop down menu select the proper mode for your carrier. Worked for me on VS980 using T-Mobile

Can you share the settings you use with Tmobile? I just flashed the 27A kdz and getting connectivity issues with Tmobile.
I'm hoping someone will have had the same issue I'm facing and have a solution.
A few weeks ago, I decided to go back to stock Nougat from a custom ROM. Everything went smoothly, but I cannot access 4G anymore. 3G works perfectly fine.
Solutions I have tried:
Factory reset
Reset carrier settings (* # * #72786# * # *)
Update PRL
Update device config
Contacted Sprint Support and had them reprovision
Restored backup of previous ROM
Flashed custom ROM
Reflashed modem
Replaced SIM card
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Model: XT1687
Carrier: Sprint
Bootloader Unlocked
Kernel: 3.18.31-Extended-Kernel
Build: Sandy-Stock-Debloat-V2
There are many threads on here about it, but this will get you started. Be sure and take a back-up of your EFS right now before trying the fixes. https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/how-to/solved-volte-fix-lost-flashing-stock-rom-t3773524

Thank you. I have looked at that thread many times but didn't try it because Sprint doesn't have VoLTE. My dumb self didn't even think that it might fix my normal LTE issue as well. Cheers
Welcome to the g5 plus, the most screwed up out of all Moto. Personally I feel 64bit was the start of all the issues, could be wrong, just my penny's worth. But then again, before that, we had not a single custom ROM with stable camera, we still don't. Maybe Moto borked this one.
