S4 i9505 LOLIPOP Google Edition help? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi i have a UK i9505 s4 lte, i live in the UK also, i have just updated to the new lolipop BTU, i find it a bit laggy, way too much bloat, and messy. I have never used a Google edition rom after doing some research am still a bit confused and would appreciate a little help.
is there a 5.0.1 or just a 5.0 and where can i find the official unaltered download which will work for a i9505 lte version?
can i use odin to flash it , in the same way i flash a regular Samsung official rom?
can i use cf auto root to root it via odin like the regular stock sammy firmware way?
will a google edition work in the UK networks. eg is the modem compatible?
also can you give me a quick rundown on what will be missing compared to that of the regular stock FW eg
will i still have wifi share / direct? and other core features?
i dont mind loosing hand swipe, smart stay and those sammy gimmicks as i never use them..
thanks you in advance..

[Q] Android 5.0.1 Australia

Of guys you can call me a noob or whatever, but I have noticed finally Samsung has released 5.0.1 for the N910F (Snapdragon variant).
In Australia we only had the opportunity to purchase the N910G. From having looked around online I cannot seem to find any difference between these 2 models (N910F & N910G) except for the region that the handset was sold in.
So my question is, am I able to install the N910F firmware onto my N910G device and still have a working device afterwards?
I haven't experimented much with my N910G as it cost me so much when I purchased it.
I was able to install different region firmwares on my SM-T700 and my GT-i9505 however it seems that back then the devices didn't seem to have region specific model numbers.
Any advice would be most appreciated, thank you for reading.
No u can't install n910f software without having a kernel that's compatible with n910f and n910g like we did in kit kat with nadia or ael. Hopefully won't be long and we will be able too but not yet
from dans galaxy far far away
I downloaded the F firmware and tried to install it to my 910G, no dice. ODIN errors out.
Custom roms will be made that work with it very soon, so i guess we just have to wait for them.

[Q] Debranding/flashing of SM-T337V and switching to Europe

Hi,
I am wondering if there are any possibilities to unbrand SM-T337V (Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 LTE from Verizon) and change it's localization setup to European one?
Will stock european ROM for Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 LTE-A (SM-T335, i guess this is pretty much the same device) work properly once flashed into Verizon's SM-T337V tablet? What's the risk involved?
SM-T337V is currently working on KitKat 4.4.4 and i don't see any stock ROM's available for SM-T337V other than US-Verizon (which kind of makes sense) in samfirmware DB. Closest to this one appears to be SM-T335 multi-location (inc. Europe) stock KitKat 4.4.4.
Maybe anyone already did the similar and can share his experiences?
You never shouldnt flash otyer device's firmwar, and odin wont let you becuause you woud brick
Ok, this makes sense, looks that i need to stick to Verizon's branded US localized version of KitKat on SM-T337V.
Other question: is there any sort of way to introduce European localization and language packs on this tab? Sort of changing CSC on Sam phone? (In standard setup, I'm limited to pick from 5 or 6 languages)
Also, is there any way to unlock SIM from Verizon?

Flash SM-G900F firmare into SM-G900T (T-Mobile)

Hey guys.
Any of you knows if I can install G900FXXU1CPD2 (which is for G900F) into a G900T, just using Odin? I have been reading and I've seen in many places that a lot of roms for the F version would work on the T version, as long as they're unbranded and have nothing specific on them. This one is supposed to be unbranded (Netherlands) without any kind of bloatware or apps from any mobile provider.
What do I need to do in order to flash it and make it work? Maybe not flashing the bootloader? As mentioned I've seen videos where a G900F rom was flashed into the G900T variant without problems.
And if it can't be done with this one, is there any other unbranded G900F rom that would work with my G900T? Or any G900T firmware pure stock, like Google Play Edition or similar?
I want a clean unbranded rom, as T-Mobile has the weird tradition of removing options (like the data mobile switch) and forcing updates on you (there's no way to disable or stop OTA updates ... and the phone starts downloading them even if you are on 3G/4G!! No way to select "only Wifi" either ).
My G900T has the last Marshmallow version, and it's 100% T-Mobile stock, no root or anything.
Thanks!
Bro to stop OTA Updates just flash latest Twrp And flash ( Beta supersu ) .......
I don't think that stock g900f is work on g900t
Sorry for my bad English
To Enable Mobile Data Toggle
Use QuickPanel Maneger
Like screenshots
But when you restart your phone you need to do this again
Hey!
Thanks for your answers, I am already using a similar solution than QuickPanel Manager, but yeah you have to do this every time you reboot.
However, I would like to get rid of all the nonsense stuff T-Mobile has embedded in my S5, and still have the option to update my phone ... when I WANT, not whenever an OTA update comes and I am on a limited mobile data plan. So I don't want to disable OTAs, just download them whenever I want.
So going back to my point, no chance this G900F firmware would work on my G900T firmware? Both are snapdragon and apparently (as I read everywhere) shouldn't be any problem.

New to SM-G900F, advice on stock rom please

Hi Guys,
Whilst I'm new to the SM-G900F, I'm not new to Samsung and Android in general.... I have the N7000, i9100 and i9100P. As well as some other Android devices.
A friend got me this device today, and think it's totally awesome... However it was originally on the Three (UK network) and comes bundled with a lot of the Three Apps and settings....
What I was wondering, what is the best place and STOCK rom to flash this with please, so that it is just GENERIC and unbranded firmware. I'm not looking to custom rom it yet either, want to run it as stock.
I'm currently with EE (EveryoneEverywhere UK) network, and see that I can get an EE firmware from SamMobile.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900F/EVR/
Also, what is BTU under SamMobile??
But is there any firmware's that dont have any branding, and just standard stock from Samsung....
http://www.galaxys5update.com/firmware-galaxy-s5-sm-g900f/
Do I just put this phone into DownloadMode, and flash in Odin? Any special settings?? As this is the first device with Knox that I own, and dont want to trip it...
Thanks, Lister
Maybe you can try Darklord N5?
Its stock based on note 5
Very stable and fast
Hmm

Help with SM-N910H

Hi
I am noobish and would love some help from an expert
I Got my Note 4 SM-N910H on eBay a few years ago. I brought it unlocked not sure if its unlocked via IMEI or some other way (Its working with both USA AT&T sim and UK Virgin sim). Looks like it has been customized in some way because I went to Odin mode and it has binary & status custom and Knox voided.
Tried updating via settings and it will not allow it due to being modified. Tried Samsung Kies and it says its not supported.
Its currently on 4.4.4 firmware and i want to get it to 6.0.1.
I found a website with the official 6.0.1 firmware for N910H. (Cant post links but updato and samsung-firmware). The problem is there are multiple different country versions and I don't have a clue which country to pick? I want it in English. But there are none with USA or UK. Does the firmware country make a difference apart from language? I don't know what the original carrier was and there are no carrier specific apps installed. Does it have to be the same country as the original? Could I lose my unlock and not be able to use my sim card?
About Device:
Android 4.4.4
Baseband N910HXXU1ANIF
Kernal 3.10.9-2815469
Build Number KTU84P.N910HXXU1ANIF
Device Status Custom (Does that mean its rooted?)
I am happy with either official firmware or custom if its 6.0.1 or something better.
Please any tips/advice/guides or links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

4.4.4 is the best if you want my advice don't upgrade you will regret.
marshmallow and lollipop both sucks on note 4 and once you upgraded the bootloader will be locked and you cannot downgrade back to 4.4.4.
If your device status shows custom then it means it was rooted and modified for some reasons to make it fully work out of china because N910H is chinese note 4 3g model i believe.
just pick your own country. if its not available, just pick a neighbor country.
btw.....before you try any of those, try to boot to recovery and see if TWRP is installed. if yes, good, continue by creating backup of your current rom.
if not, I suggest installing TWRP first and make a full backup.
about kitkat vs marshmellow, I'll go with MM. With MM, you got more features, you got more recent android security patch.
yes, its worse on battery. but some tweaks here and there will (almost) fixed it.
Thanks for the help
Tried installing supersu and it says its not rooted so don't know why it says device status custom haha.
Yes 910H does say its an asian model but the firmwares are not asian areas they are more like african areas? The nearest one to USA is Trinidad and Tobago i think.
Think ill just stick with 4.4.4 since I don't know what I am doing
TY

Take your time to read on some threads. Just relax, no need to rush.
I have 910h myself, and I'm enjoying this device with root and xposed.
To root, get your cfautoroot. Its a simple process, just a few click here and there.
Custom status means that your knox is tripped. It means it has been successfully rooted before.
Trust me, its worth the time spent.
