Hi,
The reason i updated to lollipop because i read somewhere that it improves/enhances battery time/life. But after updating, my battery consumes half of the time which i was getting before update. Why is this?
Why battery drains faster than before?
Is this the battery problem or lollipop update is causing this?
My phone model is Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H)
Factory reset after updating from KK to LP

There is no unusual battery drain in 4.4.2 if not factory reseted do it, it will fix your problem, u can't go back to 4.3 now.
If you do a google search you will see there are many many users affected by the battery drain bug. Im yet to find a fix.
So, I'm having S5 - 2-3 days ago I updated from stock 4.4.2 to 5.0 - after 2 horrific days with battery life draining twice faster I decided to downgrade back to 4.4.2 - did it - all was well until I somehow downloaded the 5.0 update again and it's waiting to be installed... with that dreaded notification. Is there any way I can remove it and keep using 4.4.2?
I'm not sure about the message but if you were going to go through the hassle of downgrading why didn't you try 5.0 on a factory reset? Fixed the battery drain issues for me.
Same problem...

Hello I also same problem.
I want to be 4.4.2 for the moment ... but the notification is "stressful"!
Any advice for me NOT Root?
Of you who have gone through all the available versions of stock unbranded 4.4.2 firmware for the s4 which one gave you the best battery life?
i eant to flash an unbranded version to my phone but it is tedious testing each one factory reseting etc
i have this msm_hsic_host wakelock which only gives me 80% max deep sleep which firmware of 4.4.2 minimises this the most? My main goal is battery improvement
Can anyone give me some suggestions which stock rom 4.4.2 gives them excellent battery life ie 90% or more deep sleep in wakelock detector?
Any suggestions please would be welcome? Which one gives you the best battery?
The latest.
Hi,
I have a friend who has an S5, not rooted, he's got a problem with mm-qcamera-daemon causing battery drain, he's been having this issue for some time and was previously on kit kat, he's more recently updated to lollipop but the problem has persisted, we initially thought that the issue was due to some apps using the camera but those apps have had their data cleared and have been removed to eliminate them, as he's not rooted what more can be done ?
Thanks in advance.
Depending on which model S5 it is, I believe that bug was fixed in BOC7, and now BOD3 is the latest, so there may be two newer firmwares he can try
Check sammobile dot com and ODIN to update if he has no OTA
Okey after flashing unlocked firmware on my s8 yesterday im facing fast battery draining issue..i mean i unplugged my s8 on 100% and within 10mins i lose 10% battery.
Please help if anyone faced the same issue.
