Wow thanks.
I have a xt1052 retail GB thats on cm12 nightly with twrp. Can i just wipe and flash this to get stock lollipop in the meantime?
i.e. no extra steps like going back to stock 4.4.4 or anything.
Cause the first download is just the system and boot. But does the boot update my stock bootloader to the lollipop xt1053?
---------- Post added at 12:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:29 PM ----------
And what is the second download? the full stock xt1053 ota?

Try the twrp backup.
1. Download from above link.
2. Extract the folder and paste it on you phone in TWRP/BACKUPS.
3. Reboot in recovery and wipe data.
4. Restore the backup.
5. Reboot
6. Report back if this works.
You can backup your current system incase something goes wrong.
Sent from my Moto X using XDA Free mobile app

Good luck with this, as flashing "only certain parts" to a newer level has shown to be problematic in the past.
If this is not updating GPT.BIN and the parts impacted by Motoboot.img then, thankfully, flashing the full SBF to revert to 4.4.4 would be possible to fix any issues.

This is likely the least dangerous way to experiment with this leak. Given that most will restore it via TWRP, a backup and restore is all you'd need to get back to stock. Far better than converting your phone to BR version. Not sure why you'd need to SBF back to stock.

I was able to update mi moto x to lollipop!
moto x 1052 uk
used the twrp metod, i haven't flashed super su, I will try after the configuration is finish on the phone!
Thanks!

[UPDATE][Index][Guide][XT10XX] Update to Lollipop

Alright, so I decided to make a thread trying to make it easier for people to find guides so they can easily upgrade to Lollipop. Forums seems a bit messy.
Special thanks to @rolgar20 for helping me out with my XT1063
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM

[UPDATE] If you own a XT1063/64 device, flash this updated lollipop stock rom found here, thanks to @KennyWuLee
[Prerequisites]
First things first, you MUST be using stock 4.4.4 firmwares for your model, or the model you want to update via stock recovery.
CUSTOMS RECOVERY LIKE TWRP O CWM WON'T WORK.
If you never unlocked bootloader, jump to step 5
Note: You can flash the firmware from another model (ex. flash XT1064 on XT1063) to run the specific OTA for that software, though is NOT RECOMMENDED
Download Motorola Drivers for Windows
Take a look at the stock firmwares (Links down)(thanks to @lost101) and download the file meant for your model.
New Links http://motofirmware.com/files/category/38-titan/ (Download 21.85.17 for XT1063 and XT1064, thanks to MotoFirmware)
Download adb/fastboot files
Note: You can skip this step following THIS guide (thanks to @Shawn5162)
Unzip both stock firmware and fastboot in the same folder, shift+right click on the screen and click on "open command prompt from here" and run these commands one by one
Code:
fastboot.exe flash logo logo.bin
fastboot.exe flash boot boot.img
fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot.exe flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot.exe erase modemst1
fastboot.exe erase modemst2
fastboot.exe flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot.exe erase cache
fastboot.exe erase userdata
Boot your device, then download and copy to internal sdcard the OTA file FOR YOUR MODEL from the following links below
XT1063 Global Single Sim Version
[OTA] Moto G 2014 XT1063 v22.11.6 Android Lollipop (thanks to @Taimur Akmal / @KennyWuLee )
XT1064 Consumer Cellular (US Single Sim)
[OTA] Moto G 2014 XT1064 v22.11.6 (thanks to @surenzxx)
Power off your device and get into fastboot mode, then choose "Recovery"
A broken android logo should appear, press and hold VolUP+VolDwn, then press and release the power button
Recovery options should appear, select "Choose update from sdcard" and use your ota file.
Wait until it finishes upgrading and voilá, you have Lollipop (Note: Updating takes about 5-10mins and the first boot almost the same time)
UPDATE: The new 22.11.6 Lollipop OTA can be found here for XT1063 thanks to @KennyWuLee and @Taimur Akmal, just flash it via stock recovery with a clean stock lollipop firmware. (If update fails, flash stock Kitkat, boot, flash 1st OTA, boot, flash 2nd OTA and you're done....)
There's a guide for XT1068 using a XT1063 firmware
XT1068
Lollipop 2-Sim Working with XT1063 OTA (thanks to @luisjoseb)
Rooting Lollipop
XT1063 - XT1068
Check the CF-AutoRoot website and look for your model at the end.
Code:
Just unzip the file, boot your phone into fastboot mode (power + vol dwn for about 3 seconds) and open root-windows.bat
Note: Tested on XT1063 and it gets stuck in bootloop (maybe I'm doing something wrong?)
Edit: Bootloop issue is partually fixed. Sometimes it loops 2-3 times and after 5-10mins it boots normally.

Good to see everything essential like Upgrading to Lollipop 5.0 & Rooting Lollipop 5.0 in a single thread
HOW CAN I DOWNGRADE from lollipop aws to kitkat glb and then again upgrade to Lol gib
Hi, I had originally an xt1063 Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuglb.retuglb.en.US
yesterday I flashed Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US
And then upgrade to Lollipop retuaws.retuaws.en.US
But CF Auto root does not work (shows waiting for device)
I installed TWRP 2801 recovery and flashed SuperSU. But before it, I tried flashing xt1064 root.img. It makes the root checker to show my device as xt1064 and supersu was not working fine. So, I unroot using SuperSu, the binary files are deleted, but supersu remains the same.
I then today found retuglb.retuglb.en.US OTA, but I cannot downgrade to Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuglb.retuglb.en.US.
HOW CAN I DOWNGRADE?
Flash the stock firmware through fastboot commands (those shown above, use those fastboot files, not mfastboot). It will say boot downgraded but it's fine. You won't be able to lock the bootloader again though, but you can flash stock xt1063 then update to lollipop.
Isn't stock recovery enough?
Quick question: do I have to flash the stock firmware and apply OTA zip? I am pretty much stock+twrp+root+xposed. If I uninstall xposed and flash the stock recovery, will I not be able to OTA from within the ROM?
The phone is now prompting me for OTA every now and then. This is 1064 model.
If you got the official update via ota and you have a custom recovery, update just won't work. Xposed doesn't work on Lollipop, it's not ART compatible yet. You should at least flash the stock recovery.img via fastboot to succesfully update, but in my opinion you should clean install the stock firmware before updating.
Is lollipop on our moto g showing the same problems that N5 users have been reporting? Especially the WiFi problems. I have no idea yet as it's not rolled out here in the UK yet.
Lollipop on the n5 works flawlessly. The n5 users complaining about bugs, including the WiFi bug, don't know how to install it properly. By properly I mean via fastboot, 1 image at a time. They dirty flash, or use scripts, and then complain that things aren't working properly.
---------- Post added at 03:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:45 PM ----------
As for it working on the moto g, I'm not sure because my wife hates change and won't install the ota
Could a mod please move this to the Android Developer section? I think it fits better there.
it does not work

It won't work because you're trying to apply an update for the XT1063 retglb using a retla firmware.
You'll have to flash stock firmware for XT1063 retglb then apply the OTA, though I wouldn't recommend that.

Hi I'm using CC 21.11.23.titan_ccaws.AWSCC.en.US cc (XT1064)
I have flashed it with MotoFlash3.2 with Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US and tried to use Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US (Lollipop) to update it says fail at "/system/app/3c_main.apk" has unexpected contents. Installation aborted.
Any suggestions thanks?
EDIT* I think I figured it out. First you have to unlock bootloader with Motorola website then you can flash with Motoflash with Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US. Then download the Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US and update files in recovery. Hopefully this all works.
is there no ETA fot the official update (update by phone) of Lollipop? Thanks

There are still some bugs on those OTA files, they were meant for a soak test even though Motorola said it's official. Earlier today, I had no volume when making or receiving calls. I went back to KitKat and now I'm waiting for an official release (no date yet, afaik)

Hi, I used your method to install this rom and it's working as expected. Good work!
I am a little concerned over flashing the xposed module however. Has anyone tried this and can confirm there is no GSM/3G/4G signal issues such as no mobile data connectivity or call drop-outs, stuttering voice during call etc?

Recovery should have stayed. Are You on Lollipop and rooted now? Then simply install the Locked bootloader recovery again to get recovery!
Hey guys so i tested xposed on this little gem. I have been able to flash and install without any boot loops, so that part is cool. The wall that I have hit is an incompatibly when downloading and installing modules. They simply will not install. I am just a guy who likes to mess around with my phone, so I am not sure what is going on under the hood, nor do i have any logs to show. I don't even know how I would make those at the moment. I hope this is helpful, in some way.
I have a question.
I have the 4.4.4 with root 14.4.A.0.157- I have already installed the dual recovery by nut 2.8.21- now for the lollipop with firmware 2.70 must only install the .zip file (D5503_14.5.A.0.270_Generic_India-SuperSU_V2.46-lockeddualrecovery_2.8.12-.zip)?
I am Italian so it should work in Italy with Italian language right? without any type of problem with the network 4g?
regards
Anybody know what the difference is between .242 and .270? Is it worth upgrading?

I personally don't use a debloater script or freeze apps, I directly remove them from system.
You can find a script for it in the general section itself.

Downgrade to kitkat from lollipop

I recently upgraded to ? and was disappointed to say the least so after looking around there are number of ways but all seem complicated so here is the easiest way which works for me
Flash at your own risk
My version P1640
1. Flash twrp recovery with flashtool or adb
2. Do a nandroid backup
3. Flash this http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Tegra Note 7&folder=Rom Stock 4.4.2-2.5
4.wipe dalvic etc then reboot
This rom is not compiled by me but is rooted
Lollipop is good but you need to tweak it to get it back to earth.
* Make sure your tablet is OEM unlocked. Then flash a sophisticated recover image version like TWRP. This will allow root-mode enabling via a patch.
* Put the tablet into fastboot mode and flash RootJunky's shared Lollipop restore image instead of the upgrade over the air (OTA). Good idea to erase particular partition before flashing.
* Boot to the recovery stage. Install latest zip SuperSu.zip using sideloader or having it already on a SD. This will enable root mode.
* Start system. Remove Apps from system partition unneeded, or that can be moved or installed to user directory instead. This frees up vital space. Example Lollipop only leaves a few megabytes left in the system partition after installation. Consider using Link2SD. Example get Google+, Google Play, Google Magazine, etc into the user partition and any other big App off your system parition. The system partition should only have important apps needed to be retained if a factory wipe is enacted.
* Then go through all your system settings make sure you tweak them to suit both power saving and your own desires.
* Use a startup tool like ES Task Manager to remove apps starting that don't need to be running from system boot.
* Install all Google Apps wanted. This can help to configure the system how it's meant to be.
* The system should now run smooth and use little battery.

With a bit of manipulation I replace the Launcher to Google's Now one.

I recently upgraded to and was disappointed to say the least so after looking around there are number of ways but all seem complicated so here is the easiest way which works for me
Flash at your own risk
My version P1640
1. Flash twrp recovery with flashtool or adb
2. Do a nandroid backup
3. Flash this http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Tegra Note 7&folder=Rom Stock 4.4.2-2.5
4.wipe dalvic etc then reboot
This rom is not compiled by me but is rooted

Thanks a lot!
LP 5.1 was a waste of time and resources. Apps freeze randomly (even after factory reset etc) and there are just better UI options in KK for now.

Oh man! I flashed this on top of 5.1 LP as your instructions but now its in boot animation from ~11 minutes now! Any other formats had you done after flashing this over LP like factory reset from TWRP?
Fk me! I cant even get into recovery by poweroff+volume up!! It just switches off then boots back on and goes into the bootlogo powered by tegra. How do i atleast switch it off until something is figured out? Its just getting hotter and stuck on bootloop
How do I flash it back to 4.4?

Last night I went into TWRP to fix permission since seemed like something was wrong with Lollipop and my TN7 went into a bootloop also. Couldn't get into recovery so I let the battery drain, recharged, and was finally able to get into TWRP. Flashed Tomsgt's 5.1.3 but before rebooting from TWRP it stated "No OS Installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?" Of course I rebooted anyway and now the tablet is on but it's a blank screen. I hold the power button and the message "Power Off Device" does show up, so that's odd. Ended up flashing Stock-4.4.2-2.5 and it's finally back!!
Loved this tablet initially when it didn't stutter/lag so much, and I know the hardware is supposed to be more capable (other than the 1GB of ram). I don't game on it and don't do anything intensive. Don't understand why it would lag so much...

There are no differences between the brands, The only difference is the boot image and the name of the brand behind the device. the supertool will work with any brand (i think so) and if you use supertool to downgrade there should'nt be any issues (i think so i am not sure:angel

[GUIDE] Install Official Marshmallow Update Oxygen OS 3.1.3

OnePlus Team has finally rolled out long-awaited Marshmallow Update. This time, it isn't community build or beta, it is a STABLE update!
This post will guide you to upgrade from 2.2.2 to 3.1.2 for both non-rooted and rooted users.
Disclaimer:
Code:
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
For non-rooted, unmodified system users (who haven't tinkered anything with the device's software):
1a. You must have received a notification to update to OOS 2.2.3
Download it, and hit reboot now! This will automatically install the update which will prepare your device to install MM update.
1b. If you haven't received the update notification for 2.2.3 then download it manually from here - https://goo.gl/NkZm2I
Place it in the root directory of Internal Storage (not inside any folder, just directly on Internal storage) and then enter recovery mode by turning off your phone and then pressing Power button + volume down button at the same time. Once you get into recovery, select Install from Internal Storage and the select your file and flash it!
Congratulations, now you are on OOS 2.2.3!
Download MM OOS 3.1.2 from here - http://s3.amazonaws.com/oxygenos.on...OTA_017_all_201609231354_e675a52db5a044e7.zip
and place it on your SD card again, like above, go to recovery and flash the file!
You are now on Official Oxygen OS 3.1.2 MM Update!
For rooted users, who have modified system:
1. Download the zip http://s3.amazonaws.com/oxygenos.on...OTA_017_all_201609231354_e675a52db5a044e7.zip and place it on your SD Card or Internal Storage
2. Go to your recovery (TWRP is preferred)
3. Wipe System, Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache
4. Select Install and navigate to your file location, select your file and flash it!
5. Flash https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4K5cvm1zdldcmZpc3RuVnRjUUE/view to get root access!
6. Reboot! Enjoy your MM Update!
(Optional) These are steps I followed for a safer install:
1. Took the whole backup of 2.2.2 from official TWRP
2. Flashed Whole 2.2.2 zip from here - http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-x/oneplus_x_oxygenos_2.2.2/ which I had already downloaded
3. Flashed Stock Lollipop recovery
4. Unrooted my phone
5. Locked and unlocked my bootloader (don't know why I was getting locked bootloader error while flashing blu-spark twrp so did it)
6. Unrooted my phone
7. Flashed 3.1.2 zip from stock lollipop recovery
8. Flashed blu-spark TWRP using fastboot
9. Flashed modified SuperSU
10. Restored just data partition from my 2.2.2 backup and wiped cached.
This way is long and tedious but ensures you get the data, which was important for me.
Edit: Above process can be applied to install Oxygen OS 3.1.3 (link below) Directly! Hope you have a pleasant experience on Marshmallow, cause I'm definitely loving it

I didn't have right resources with me for now so I just flashed 2.2.2 zip (had downloaded the whole zip from downloads.oneplus.net), unrooted and flashed stock recovery (check the main post for links) and directly flashed 3.1.2 zip! Worked flawlessly!

i have two questions here
1. were you able to format external SD card as internal?
2.how to flash modified/original TWRP after install OOS 3.1.2?
I flashed and rooted it properly but xposed isn't active. What version do I have to flash?
Which custom recovery is supported for this ROM ? I couldn't install the package using official twrp recovery. Had to switch to official recovery to install the ROM

I couldn't understand your question 1... for your second question - I flashed 3.1.2, unlocked bootloader, flashed Blu-spark's TWRP, flashed Modified Super SU and then restored just Data from my 2.2.2 backup!

[Guide]How to get an update if unlocked and rooted, but otherwise on stock EMUI

I just bought the Honor 8 and immediately unlocked and rooted it via Magik. Of course not long after that, I get a notification that there is an update available. You obviously cannot update the phone by simply pressing the "update" button since we have a non-stock recovery. I did a fair amount of research to find out how I could get the update and I wanted to share what I found. All of this information is out there already, but generally speaking it is spread out in many different threads. Hopefully these directions can help someone else.....
First, the usual disclosures.....
Code:
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this GUIDE
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
1) Make a NANDroid backup using TWRP: if the new update locks the phone, you will need this backup to restore data after unlocking it
2) Unroot your phone: honestly I did not do this step myself because I simply didn't think about it. The update process worked for me without unrooting but I am also using Magik which doesn't alter the system files. To ensure success I would definitely recommend you unroot. You will have to reroot the phone after the update regardless if you unrooted or not, so you aren't saving any steps by keeping root at this point. If you have used a different root method besides Magik, you must unroot prior to attempting an upgrade.
3) Obtain stock recovery.img file: the update won't work with TWRP as your recovery, so we need to flash the original Huawei recovery to replace TWRP. If you already have a copy of the stock recovery skip to step 4. If you are like me you don't have a copy of the stock recovery image on hand and we will need to extract it from the stock ROM image. Using a computer (not your phone) download the stock ROM image for your device. This website seems to have a list of recent versions and it is where I downloaded the L14 B389 version that I used.
Download the Huawei Update Extractor software and unzip the folder on the computer. Open the HuaweiUpdateExtractor app and use the software to extract the "Recovery.img" file. Here is a Youtube video showing how to do this. Please note, although the video shows several files being extracted you only need to extract the "Recovery.img" file for our use. Move the stock recovery image to your ADB folder so you can flash it in step 4.
4) Flash the stock recovery image: use the stock recovery file and flash it to recovery using the same instructions as you used to flash TWRP in the first place. If you need a refresher, look at section 2 (parts 1-5) of the first post in this thread. Just make sure you substite the name of the stock recovery image instead of the TWRP.img
5) Reboot into system
6) Install Update: go to the Settings - System Update menu on your phone. In the upper right corner, click on the three dots and it will bring up a menu where you can choose "Download latest full update". Click on this. This will start the update process by downloading the full ROM and not just the smaller update package. For me the package size was approaching 2gb, so make sure you are ready to handle that size transfer. After the download is complete, start the update process. I was nervous at first, but everything went fine. If for some reason the update fails, I would reboot and try again. I did have one failure, but I cannot explain if it was a bad download, or something I did wrong (like not unrooting the phone prior to attempting the update). It worked fine the second attempt.
7) Reboot: the phone will reboot and you should check the status to make sure you are on the latest version.
8) Flash TWRP recovery: I read where people said full updates would lock your phone and you would have to start from scratch unlocking it (and therefore wiping all data). This was not the case for me and this update using this method. I was simply able to flash TWRP again. You should be a rock star at flashing recoveries by now so get to it and flash TWRP again. If your phone is locked, then read the note at the bottom of this post.
9) Reboot into system
10) Flash Magik zip: reboot into recovery and flash Magik zip to get SuperSU.
11) Install Magik modules: reboot into system. Reinstall any Magik modules you use as they don't get carried over from the previous installation.
12) Enjoy your updated phone
If for some reason the full update did lock the phone, then you will need to unlock it again before you can flash TWRP. You have already done this before, so use whatever method was successful for you. Obviously this will fully wipe your phone. After flashing TWRP and Magik, I would make a backup of that raw "stock" image just in case this next step doesn't work. After making the backup, you can try to restore just the data partition of the NANDroid backup you made in step 1 (click restore in TWRP, select the backup made in step 1 but deselect everything except the "data" partition before starting the restore process.) I have never done this, but I have read it will recover all your data (apps, etc) without affecting the system partition and therefore it won't mess up the upgrade. I would not recommend doing this if going from Marshmallow to Nugget or Nugget to Oreo however. In those cases, it is better to simple start fresh and redownload all of your apps.
Thank you for this thread.
Hello sic,
I am having the same issue with my Huawei GR-5 2017 and like you, I have my fair share of researching for weeks now and I was really happy to stumble on this thread.
Before I start with the process, I have a few questions for you. I hope you could help me (even though this thread is half a year ago).
Can you elaborate steps 1 and 2 or could you provide me a link on how to do those?
I got xposed installed im on emui 8 i also tried flashfire but it only turns the phone off.. Ist it eneugh to uninstall xposed? And can i get the recovery img from fullota? And must i restore images in magisk? I will try it without xposed installed. And a theory: is the information abaut bootloader unlock stored in a partition like oeminfo? If it is we could restore oeminfo.
