Conference Calling issue on 5.1 - Nexus 6 General

I recently noticed after the 5.1 update. (Stock, No Root, T-Mobile) if I am on a call that is HD and I have another call coming in (Not HD) and I try to 3 way the call for some reason the HD call wont conference with the non HD call. It just hangs or says its on conference and I hear either silence or only 1 person. HD call was T-mobile to T-Mobile, second call was from AT&T. Not sure if anyone else experienced this yet. But if anyone on T-Mobile can try and duplicate this just want to make sure its not only happening to me. I also do not see Manage Conference Call. This is really annoying ever since the 5.1 update what happened to Manage Conference Call??!!? I have one person on the line the other person hung up and it still says Conference Call. both calls are non HD

Interesting...I have to try this. Something else I have noticed is that when VoLTE is enabled and I try to dial 611 to cal T-Mobile the phone call disconnects right way-it doesn't even ring...I hope Tmobile fixes that...

I ended up rebooting to bootloader and clearing the cache and manage call came back but still issue with merging HD and non HD calls

No Manage Conference

I am running the nexus 6 on VZW, I enabled HD Voice Volte and I have the same issue as you. I cleared the cache and that didn't work for me. Any other things to try?
Thanks
Mike

Based on the functionality of HD Voice, I don't think you can conference a call from HD voice to someone without HD voice. What happened is a limitation of HD Voice I thought.

I've done it with verizon on a droid turbo. Conference features weren't dependent upon they type of call. I can add or remove people from the conference regardless. Either way, it does not work now HD voice or not.

This was the number I was using to test VoLTE in the beginning and thought it meant it was broken for me in San Diego. Then I realized all other numbers worked fine. They definitely need to fix that.

This could also be a T-Mobile problem, maybe VoLTE related? Have you tried this with VoLTE turned off? Verizon might be doing some different routing on the Droid Turbo, are they still doing CDMA calls while keeping the LTE connection active? I would think the HD Voice implementation should allow for conferencing calls with non-HD calls, probably by dropping the call codec to be compatible with the other one, and this should be done automatically.
Maybe LMY47E will fix both of these on Tmo, if not, I'm sure a future update should. We should report these bugs (if they aren't out there already)

What's the easiest way to upgrade to LMY47E without wiping?

Get the image, extract all the files, and run the commands manually (don't use the batch or shell scripts):
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot reboot
LMY47E does have a newer radio image, so that might fix the call related issues.

Thank you! Do I need to have the bootloader unlocked first?

Ok so I just flashed LMY47E and as my apps are restoring from the Play Store, I tried dialing 611 and got the same failure I had in LMY47D. I don't have a number to call to test HD Voice right now, but I will later today.

I just bit the bullet and flashed lmy47e and no luck. Still no manage conference button. Now I'm restoring everything for no reason. At least 5.0 puts your icons and widgets back where they were! I'll update if anything changes or I notice any difference.

I thought you had provided us with the update This bug should be reported to T-Mobile and Google and they will have to work on a fix.
The issue with only 32 GB reported is a known one on all Nexus devices. I didn't format the userdata partition after flashing, and the stock image is 32 GB in this case. I'll have to delete everything to get the 64 GB back.

Has this happen to any one?

So this is like my third week with my phone, i have never dropped it. Today all of a sudden my front speaker just stopped working just like that. I call people and no one can hear me, nor can i hear them.
What could be wrong?

If no one can hear you then your microphone has issues too. So either two pieces of hardware just randomly failed when you did nothing to the phone or something else is up. Does speaker phone work on a phone call? Are the voice features working on your phone, voice to text, voice search, etc.?

Well that's good it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. Are you stock? Did you install any new app recently that interacts with the phone app, voip, etc? Here are some thing you can try, if the first doesn't work, try the second, and if that doesn't work the third.
- double check your phone app settings/rom settings and reboot
- Clear phone app data and cache in settings/apps and reboot(you'll lose your call log)
- wipe cache, dalvik cache and reflash whatever rom you're running

im on a stock rom, the only app i know i installed was beats + louder, i was hearing music today all day.
Then when i went to make a call this happened, already did a factory reset.
is there a way to like odin to start fresh?
You can do a full wipe and flash the factory image as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
I'm surprised the factory reset didn't fix it though.

RMA it bro ...it's a dead bird
I have the same exact issue. The second I powered on the phone when I got it it made this crackling sound, like static. Notifications, calls, and music would go from fine to crackling. Then one day while listening to music it made this crackling sound ( I describe it as rice crispies popping, but way louder) then this static sound, then pop! No calls, no notifications, no music, no nothing. Rma'd on the 1st and I'm still waiting.

Flashed albinoman887's new 4.3 ROM (8/19/13) Update - Phone restarting

I flashed the latest roms of albinoman (08/13 & 08/19). The roms are awesome, but once in a while, the phone restarts especially when the phone has been in sleep mode. Also, the phone restarts thinking there is a new sim added to the phone when I have not touched the sim at all. Has anybody have that issue? I hope my phone is dying on me.
Random reboots will happen on 4.3 since it's new.
New bugs are being found and patched. Your phone probably isn't dying on you. Lol.

Thank Notorious! I found more bugs that forced me to go back to 4.2 rom.
- Phone does not ring for incoming calls. I tinkered with the DSP manager, etc. I changed ring tones, and the ring tones are not providing any audio at all. Although I get some audio when playing. (main reason I had to switch back to a previous rom. I missed several important calls).
- Creating Folders to group apps. It ungroups back when you go to sleep or when you go to all apps.
Besides that, I never thought myTouch can still be a beast. 4.2 & 4.3 roms are so smooth and really good as a daily driver.

How did it go?
Also, you said in the previous post, "the phone restarts thinking there is a new sim added to the phone when I have not touched the sim at all. Has anybody have that issue?"
I think this might be the "missed call" bug that has afflicted the last few builds. It works like this: you get a call but miss it, and the phone basically unmounts the SIM card and drops network connection. If you have the SIM passcoded (as I do), you get the passcode entry screen. You enter the passcode, though, and the SIM card remounts, network comes back, all is cool. This is a known issue and albinoman is working on it. You can check out the dev thread here:

I haven't reflashed it. I am glad to know that it is a known issue. It happens when the phone is idle. To save on the data plan, the phone kicks out of the network. That's when it happens. it does not happen with the 4.2 builds so I reflashed it to the final 4.2 build. After reading the new build, it seems like it has been fixed so I can now use that build.

Downloading now, I'll post my results after flash.
Texting and calling is working, but looks like Bluetooth is broken. It works after a reboot, but is very choppy.
Definitely not working. 2 fresh installs. Phone will ring with a different tone than normal but there is no option to answer it. When the other end hangs up, the phone keeps ringing until you reboot it.
Appears inbound texting works but the send button in the stock mms app can not be pressed. Did not bother with testing 3rd party apps.
Have not seen any commits in the changelog which may fix this, so yeah I'd definitely hold off for another day or two before heading to nightlies.

This is the exact problem that I have. I can type text, but I can't press the send button. The phone acts weird and won't actually hang up when I press the hangup button. So some people have the issue and others don't. At least it's not just me.

Here is a new issue. I tried to connect to my Bluetooth car stereo and it errored out, but my phone started making a ringing noise. No matter what I did, or which service I stopped, it kept ringing. Reboot did not fix the issue, but a power down and power back up worked. Also, regarding the SMS issue. Same issue with the stock app, but I use Textra and it works perfectly.
I've heard that updating the recovery might fix some rom issues, so I updated to the newest TWRP. And the same problem persists. So it's not the recovery, unfortunately. I'm back to using KT TWRP 2.8.0

I had the same problem with messaging. I had to download Google messenger to send texts. Calling was not working for me. I could see when my brother was calling via LTE would turn off, after he hung up it switched back to LTE. I also noticed that it wasn't recognizing the sim card in the phone. Would this cause the problem possibly? I'll post pictures.
Picture one shows that sim card isn't being recognized.
Picture two shows the LTE is switched to off when he calls.
Picture three shows that I do have LTE. (even tho it is crap signal atm I took screen shot)
Forgot to add flashed using TWRP 2.8.3 (whatever latest version is)

Don't know about the phone and messaging but for root you might have to enable it in developer options. I had to do that then it was fine but I'm on a different build.
After a few mins, my external SD card disappears.
I've tried the official CM12 kltespr builds from 9, 10 & 11th.

I've actually never heard of this. This is new. The only things I can guess about it are it being bad install, of the cache/dalvik cache wasn't cleared. I might try wiping everything (even system; it's in advanced wipe in TWRP) and reflashing it.

microphone acting up

I recently updated my xt575 with the September security patch. Since then my microphone doesn't work only when making a phone call on speakerphone. Normal phone calls, audio and video recording, and voice commands all work just fine. I have tried booting into safe mode with no success, and then did a full factory reset and held off on downloading anything before trying again, still with no success. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know of a fix or workaround for this before I try contacting Motorola? Thanks.
P.s. I am on stock ROM on Att network. I use Android pay a lot so would like to avoid rooting.

Same problem
Hello. I'm trying to solve my Moto's mic for over a week now.
I was trying many ROMs, but ended up using TruePureXMM ROM along with franken kernel.
It was all working fine, except some overall phone lag and constantly trying out other kernel auditor settings...
...untill about 2 weeks ago. Phone's microUSB port got damaged, and I had to return my phone to repair service.
After I received it back, I wanted to try out some Nougat ROMs, and tried couple of them, but found out that the mic isn't working properly there.
Decided to return back to stock, using this forums tutorials, done it without any single errors or problems in the process, I did many devices roms changes before.
It didn't help at all. The receiver don't hear me at all, the only sound they can hear is when I blow into the mic's direction.
*Note that when I change to speaker mode, the receiver hear me with some breaks in between, but it's the only way to call from now on...
I'm confused now, completely no idea if it is really the OS problem, or if it's just something with the microphone itself.
Looking forward for any tips, thanks for help.

Go to the dialer settings and enable Real Time Text.. it allows you to message during a phone conversation.
Does the bootloader change at all?
Forget that update. Here's Oreo!

Since this update, I get no cell reception. It's fine when it first boots, then 4g flashes on and nearly instantly it drops to disconnected.
I've tried safe mode, thinking it was that. Nope.
Uninstalled digits. Nope.
Signed in via multi-line settings. Nope.
Watch (Zte ZW10) connected or not makes no difference.
Anyone else? Any ideas short of hard reset?
If it was a simpler process and wasn't risking tripping anything then yeah its good to try but lets not forget this version was never meant to be in the hands of consumers. Be wise stay official till the official OTA comes out! And since were on a new baseband whats to say you can even force the update now?

Yes, the same issue here. Can't get any data when off of Wi-Fi. It's connected but slower then molasses.

Yes, every key press is in real time into a chat window. It automatically opens if you initiate a rtt call.

But, is this update rootable?
Anyone else's dialer app not working. Keeps force closing will try to factory reset
I was able to get my reception back by clearing the cache partition (!!) and disabling wifi calling (the latter may not have been relevant, in fact -- I can enable it now, though).
Nooooo I updated to this version. Can I still root?
Looks like you can't. I tried it and you get stuck in a bootloop.
