Hi guys, I would just like to have everyone know I love my Note 4 N910F but the one I absolutely hate about it is the recent apps button lag is ridiculous. I was hoping that the Lollipop update would fix the massive delay/lag when pressing the recents button and although it did a little bit, there's still a massive delay. I used a Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 which were both low-mid range phones that had absolutely no lag when pressing the recents button.
I'm currently on Rooted Stock Lollipop, is there anything that can be done to make recent apps pop up more instanty? I'll flash another Lolipop Rom providing it's fast, stable with good battery life and someone can confirm there is no recents delay?

Actually there is no lag. It is a feature when holding recent button it acts as a menu button. There is a same thing with home button, it waits for double click to open s voice instead going to home instantly. You can disable s voice but I think you can't disable menu button feature.

Hi All
I understand that tapping my home button is meant to bring up a preview of all my home screens, but I tap repeatedly and nothing happens (the phone vibrates tho).
Is there some way to enable this?

You understand incorrectly. If you are looking for that feature you will need a third-party launcher.

If you're running the stock TW launcher then that feature isn't available. You need a 3rd party launcher like Launcher Pro for that feature.
1. Can I still slide along the notification bar to change brightness? I recall loving this in my old Captivate. CyanogenMod adopted this feature later on.
2. Can I customize what the soft buttons do? CM10 on Galaxy S3 was completely customizable (i.e. button press vs double tap vs long press).
Can Touchwiz customize any of this in stock?
My ideal button behavior is:
long press menu= recent apps
long press home button= voice search
double tap home button= disabled (i.e. just takes you home like a single press, no lag)

1. Not on current TouchWiz. U would need custom mods for that.
2. Not on current TouchWiz. U might want to try out Nova Launcher. It lets you customize actions for those buttons. As far as the lag in home button, you can disable this in S Voice in settings. Once you do that there is no lag when you press Home button.

Hello
I need some suggestions to what might be causing the Home Button delay that I experience.
I got a D802 running Pardus HD Classic 7.7 and dorimanx 7.8. I use Nova Launcher. Every time I press the Home button to return to the Launcher, I experience a delay/lag. I thought Xposed caused it, so I disabled it, but it wasn't that.
I tried forcing Nova Launcher into RAM (aggressive desktop) without luck.
Please note that the delay also occurs if you're in the app drawer and press the home button. If you press the back button, it reacts quickly as it's supposed to do.

EDIT: Stock LG launcher is also laggy
There used to be patch on Nexus 4 which would remove home button delay. You may want to search that forum under themes and apps.
Does this rom have voice mate?
This caused me an issue like this. After I deleted the app, it became much faster
Moving my sister from her failing Nexus 4 to my barely used Samsung Galaxy S4 Play Edition (stock, not rooted).
They both run Android 5.1, so the transition is not a huge problem. She'll eventually get over the switched position of the softkeys, we all do.
BUT I am feeling like a real idiot because I simply cannot invoke the Recent Apps feature. If you press the bottom left key you get a menu. Bottom right is “Back” and if you press the home key you get Home. If you long-press Home, you get the setup page for what I think of as "Google Now" or the Google App.
She does not use Google Now ("why should I") so we've done a barebones config of that, but the behaviour persists when long pressing home.
So how do you invoke the recent apps? She uses it as a fast switcher between currently open apps. I cannot help but feel that I am missing something really obvious here....
This is almost a dealbreaker.
Here are the specifics of the unit:
Model: GT-I9505G
Android Version:5.1
Baseband version: I9505GUEUDPF1
Keenel Vesion: 3.4.0-2921977
Build Number: LMY47O.S008.160601
Remember, this is the Play edition and so it never had TouchWiz on it.
Suggestions?
TIA
OP here: Answer is double-press home button
Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition double-press home button to get the "Recent Apps"
Leaving this here for the next idiot who, like me, couldn't figure this out.
Also, recent apps persist across reboots.
There's a conflict here. The recents button is the home button (long pressing). Unfortunately, Google now also uses the same activation method.
Since she doesn't use Google now, maybe you can remove the launcher or Google now altogether?
Or have you tried double press?

Thanks. We were writing at the same time. Double-press works.
I feel uncomfortable to use recent button on my s8 phone. I want that recent apps opens when i swipe from home button up. Can i do this somehow? Maybe some app? Also i want that by fast press a home button function back works. Is it possible? Its like at meizu phones or iphone.
