Hi guys..
I'm looking for a videolan-remote.. or a remote application which makes it possible to control videolan..
i did search this forum (videolan and vlc) but didn't find anything.. and i googled, found a java-application.. but it doesn't seem to work for me.
anyone got some software for that?
thanks in advance
martin
You can check out "Salling Clicker". A software that let you connect your computer via bluetooth or WLAN. You can then add plugins like remote winamp remote, vlc remote, powerpoint etc!
heyhey
thanks for your reply and sorry for my late answer..
that looks good, will try it.. but there's nothing like that as freeware, or is there?
Try this : http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2009/03...ntrol-vlc-player-via-your-windows-mobile.html
hi how does this work?
ip?
port?
I know its not the same as the program specific stuff listed above, but if you want the swiss army knife of pc control....
check out some of the many remote desktop solutions. I like Remote Touch most, has tons of advantages over VNC protocol. If you want to use a standard vnc setup i recommend mocha vnc. Remote touch is an easy setup, and runs a lot faster. It was developed here on XDA...

REQUEST "Language button"
Hi there,
I love this app, no more 20 remote controls in the bed! If somebody already digged in or knows how to do a language button with the xml file?
I tried around with the vlc HTTP orders, but it seems the languge function has to be programmed to use it in the gui later?
How much donation is expected for the language function to be programmed?
Thanx!
Hi,
does anyone know if there are any active development done on the VLC Remote software?
I was thinking of taking the existing code and make some changes but I need to get in touch with the creator to make sure it is ok...
Two main things I was planning to do is:
* Change the browse screen to use Sense UI. I have to look into if you can get the mp3 tags needed to display Artists via VLC http interface.
* Add ability to have multiple VLCs defined, so that you can control different zones in your house.
Next step I would like is to make it possible to link different zones together so that one VLC is master and one or more VLC players just plays what the master streams... a little bit like Sonos system....
Anyone interested in any of these additions?
Cheers
Jonas
Yeah, sure i'd be interested, this proggie could use some UI treatment Making another buttons pix wont be so hard, but some additional features would be interesting.

Made a new skin based on yours
Hi All,
Is there a way to assign a hardware button (something like a long press etc) to opening and closing the software keyboard? It would be nice to get access to the keyboard in a Remote Desktop session while still running at full screen.
TIA
I am looking for a solution to this also, I usually leave osk.exe running on the remote server(computer) side and this lets me do any typing I may need to do.
I would love to see an updated RDP client that allows for virtual screen sizes larger than 800x480 with pan like the iPhone RDP clients have.

I've done a search but can't seem to find what I'm looking for, if it even exists. I have a laptop hooked up to my TV and can control it from the couch with a mouse. In lieu of a Bluetooth keyboard I'll have to balance too, is there some sort of app that will allow me to type to my laptop from my tablet? Stupid question?

You can try VNC but i like RDP mostly(terminal service)

Oh man, awesome. Thanks.
10 Essential Windows 8 Keyboard Shortcuts
When you’re using Windows 8 on a tablet, it’s easy enough to navigate the new OS. But if you don’t have a touch screen, there’s no need to mouse around to make key functions appear. If you know the correct Laptop Keyboard shortcuts, you can work faster and more efficiently, no matter the type of Windows 8 PC.
1. Windows Key + C: Displays Charms menu.
2. Windows Key + X: Brings up a menu of advanced system options, including Windows Control Panel, Command Prompt, Task Manager and File Explorer.
3. Windows Key + I: Displays the Settings menu for the current app. For example, if you’re in Internet Explorer 10, this key shows Internet options. If you’re on the Start menu, it shows general OS settings.
4. Windows Key + Q: Brings up the apps search menu that allows you to search your list of installed programs.
5. Windows Key + D: Activates desktop mode.
6. Windows Key + Tab: Brings up the Task Switcher and toggles between Windows 8-style apps.
7. Windows Key + H: Brings up Share menu for the current app. For example, hitting Windows Key + H in Bing Maps, lets you email or share map information on social networks.
8. Windows Key + M: Opens desktop mode and minimizes all windows.
9. Windows Key + W: Opens universal search menu and sets it to search settings.
10. Windows Key + F: Opens universal search menu and sets it to search files.
Need help with compatible parts
Hello,
by searching the web I have found that it is cheaper and easier to build a computer on your own and after watching your video "How to build a PC with Asus W Series W3Z Keyboard: The Ultimate Guide from Tek Syndicate" it looked really easy.
but I have little experience with computer parts and I am unsure if some of the parts I have picked will be compatable or fit in the case, things like that. So I know I am asking a lot (or at least I think I am) but could you guys have a look at the specs of these parts and tell me that if I build it I will have no problems or not. Also if possible could you tell me why these parts are compatable.
P.S I choose these Compatible Parts because I wanted to build a good gaming computer that can play most modern day games on Max settings. So if you could tell me if that is possible with these parts I would greatly appreciate it.
P.P.S My parents budget was $1000 and they know that all of this added up is slightly over that.
I use gremote pro app. it allows you to use the android keyboard to type into your latptop. it also has mouse control and a media remote control. it's very customisable so you can program the remote to work with whatever programs you want on your laptop. downside is the server (which you install on your laptop) costs $5 and the app is not frequently updated but it works fine on the nexus 7 (although only in portrait mode). there are similar free apps on the market but i think gremote is worth the money. i think you can download a trial server from their website which auto disconnects after 15min - should give you a good idea if it's worth it.
using splashtop or remote desktop app won't work for you cause it will change the screen resolution on your laptop so that's no good if you're hooking it up to your tv. plus it will stress out the processor some.
This is the only reason I kept my Desire Z, it is a great trackpad/keyboard input for a media centre

Because at present the game has not been optimised for the mojo c.t.r.l.r, you can either connect a ps3 controller using sixaxis app and follow the provided tutorial.
Buy a xbox 360 controller transmitter and connect an xbox 360 controller and map using usb/bt joy app (youtube fora tutorial)
Or use the mojo controller configuring it to use on screen touch mapping using tincore key mapper (again youtube a tutorial) unfortuinately you will need a mouse connected to be able to drag down the tincore keymapper tool from the drop down menu when first wanting to map the keys, you can then save the profile so you dont require the mouse in future.
Thats the best i can think of at hand, possibly someone else has found a better way to map the ctrlr to mimic onscreen gestures

Which version to you have?
Mine works fine. I have version v1.0.7
The game should automatically recognize it.
I have a bluetooth keyboard and I start the game using the keyboard while my ctrlr is set to game mode.
Hope this helps

I was under the impression the developer of the app/game you are using has to have added support for the ctrlr so when start the game it detects the controller and works fine.
But for the bulk majority of android games that haven't added ctlrlr compatability it ain't going to work/work corectly by just moving the switch to game pad mode. For these games we require the tincore or sixaxis app.
I am looking for a remote desktop solution, like LogMeIn or TeamViewer that doesn't require me to do any detailed configuration.
The problem is that LogMeIn, for example, won't treat my Note 3 phone as a tablet, so I can't use the mouse like a normal mouse. (The settings for mouse are "move mouse" and "move screen", but there is no direct mode available for phones to use a mouse like a regular mouse.)
My device is a Verizon Android 4.4 KitKat Samsung Note 3 phone (unfortunately rooting is not an option for me), and I am using it with the Note 2 dock with an external monitor and wireless usb keyboard/mouse. Everything works great except I can't find a good remote desktop solution that will allow me to work "normally" in terms of the mouse.
I also have Win 8 Home version on my desktop PC and do not want to configure port forwarding and a fixed ip to solve rotating external IP address assignments. (Please excuse me if I didn't say that correctly, but the point is that I really don't want to deal with those kinds of complexities.) Yes, I realize that I may have too many constraints - don't want configuration challenges (which I think rules out VNC or standard RDP), and also no rooting of the phone. But I am willing to pay a small monthly subscription, e.g. I looked at PocketCloud with $5/month, but that doesn't seem to support my requirement either from a quick look at the manual.
Is there anyone who can suggest a good solution for my needs?
Have you tried the google remote desktop? It's free. I've been pretty impressed with it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't thought about that because it was relatively new. But I may try it (after some more reading). Unfortunately, it doesn't look good for external mouse support. Here's one review...
Review from Jim Fox
Great, but no external mouse support I have been using Splashtop for a while now, but was super excited to use this when I saw it come on the play store. The problem I have is that when I take remote control of my computer, I use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The program works like a trackpad to control the remote mouse with touch, which is great when you don't have an external mouse, but makes it near impossible to control when you do. You have to hold the right mouse button down in order to move the remote mouse and then click with the left. Near impossible to use. Please fix.

On the other hand, the comments make me wonder if I should try LMI and TV again with an external trackpad instead of a mouse. I wonder if that behavior might be better?
