I'm going to NYC early May.
Can you tell me if there 's a good prepaied SIM card that's compatible with 3g or edge. I dont wanna use roaming in the US but I still wanna use the data connexion to get news, weather, aGps and other infos.

Currently I'm using Vodafone EDGE and the download speed is 30kbps and upload 20kbps. Well I find it too slow.
I wanted to know if any there is any 3G user in India.
Need some reviews on BSNL/MTNL 3G and what other service providers for fast connection.
Does anybody know when other service providers are coming out with 3G service in India?

Well i am looking to get bew connection from bsnl 3g service tomorrow...so i will tell about howmuch fast is the download and upload rate.....by the way here in surat,gujarat....bsnl launched it's 3g..other private sectors are going to lauch till diwali.....

Bsnl has good 3G speeds at bombay. I found aitel also quite good but its at 2g. also bsnl and airtel have network issues at some places

I'm coming to Delhi at the beginning of December and would love to be able to pick up an Airtel SIM with 3G at the airport. Hopefully it is available in Delhi by then!

I'm from Karnataka.
Activated 3G from bsnl. 4200rs for 6months unlimited upto 7.2mbps speed. Brought data card from ebay instead from bsnl.
Its running very well here. Getting upto 4mbps and may get more sometimes.
I'm able download 1.5gb in hour. Today morning I have downloaded COD Black Ops and playing now.
However, it depends upon tower and signal. Now I'm getting 100kbps, no idea whats wrong. Should check tomorrow morning.

Go for Vodafone...Its signal strength[tower] is very powerfull..Even in the subways,i can fearlessly use my fone without worrying of d call geting disconnected.

Well,yes...In December i guess Nationwide, we will have 3G...Airtel has launched i guess...Watch its site for more info..I haven't done that.
Using BSNL here in Hyderabad. connectivity and speeds are good but cant say the same if you go out of town. guess BSNL's missed the competition ,let's see with the big players in what is going to happen

I too got 3g from bsnl but since yesterday night ( Saturday ) I'm getting upto 256kbits/s only. Don't know whats wrong. I have tried using my HTC phones but same problem.
In 1 days I had downloaded 8 gb game but I'm guessing is it because after 8 gb the speed comes down to 256kbps.
Hope it isn't or else I have lost my hopes on 3g.
p.s I have 4200rs unlimited

I'm on 10 GB limited since i use my 4 Mbps WiFi when i'm home so haven't had chance to download that much .

Ya,it would be too good if it comes nationwide..I'd go in for Vodafone cuz its signal strength in Mumbai is exceptionally strong than others...

nope, I don't hear anything about 3g usage there. Just the balance and validity.
However, good news is I'm getting 4mbps again today so its back in action.

today i bought a new bsnl prepaid 3g sim and its downloading speed is much much better than docomo.
Has anyone got a Xoom on this? It's the carphonewarehouse Vodafone network, it's significantly cheaper but wanted to know if you get the full service as if you'd gone direct to Vodafone?

I've had no issues with signal compared to my 2 proper vodafone devices.
I too have my xoom on this network and find the internet experience to be equal to the true vodafone network

Another happy customer here, never heard of them before I bought the Xoom, but no problems
I went for the unlimited data plan for £25 and have to say very happy with covetage. The xoom seems to pickup a good 3g signal even when my Vodafone hand set jumps in and out. Coverage map is useless on their website though, been around south wales and all down the south coast with no signal problems.
Location by network gave me one issue by St Ives putting me 10 miles away from gps location (didn't check my phone against it). Google account sees the device on Vodafone network. Only wish I could use my vodafone sure signal with it as it covers more of my place than my wifi.
Only thing I would say is be sure you want a xoom, not tried anything else but an ipad and I'm happy, my concerns are life expectancy of the xoom over other tablets. With lack of support and information regarding updates worries me somewhat now. Don't know if I'd been better with the htc flyer or even waiting for the Sony tablet due soon.

ive been getting fantastic hsdpa speeds of 6mb while I barely get an O2 signal on my Desire! I just wish they would hurry up and push the 3.1 update!

With talkmobile i had to pay £229 deposit.... and they asked me to fork over another £150 to remove the content lock...
I find there CS is quite pushy towards direct debits... on 8 occasions they have asked me to set one up yet I declined (ha ha), never missed a payment with any company XD
But on the other hand there CS is good at resolving queries and work a charm. The device is unlocked which is great and I can pop my 3 SIM card in there with 15 Gb access all areas internet.
What are your thoughts on this Talkmobile?

Dude, phone Talk Talk now! My friend had this, and after a load of investigation it turned out that despite having an unlimited data package, talk talk were actually billing him for data, and he had a bill for £281 which in turn had led to his sim being blocked! If he hadn't phoned up they would have automatically debited him in a few days, and then probably would have had a major battle to get that cash back.
Number is 0800 049 4401 for Pay Monthly queries.
I am thinking of getting one of these from the US. Now I am in the UK and at the moment have a 3g data plan with Vodafone. Will be leaving the UK in a few months to live in AUS which has a 4g network so will upgrade to 4g then. My question is will this phone function with my 3g data plan in the UK till I move.
