Hello all,
Today I read a lot of posts here about rooting my phone because I was done with the stock UI.
I went for it and now I think I made a mistake, I would like your help. I read some similair posts, but I cant find a true solution for my problem.
My goal is to run CM 11, I have a stock LG 802 config with 4.2.2.
My steps were as followed:
- I used towelroot v3 wich was succesful
- I installed and ran D802 autorec (wich i guess was a bad idea). I got to recovery mode and I wanted to back up first.
- I made a back up of boot and system
- After the back up, I had to reboot
- NOW its stuck in a boot sequence to nothing. Just a light green and blue. I get the logo and I can get in the stock recovery it seems. Should I reset to factory settings?? Is that data still present?
I hope I can go from there, but after my major fail Im afraid to try it.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Update
I can get into download mode and LG Support Tool finds a phone, but the specs do not match and the update states that there is not any update available, wich there is.
When I get into recovery mode I can get into TWRP and I should be able to continu the process with flashing and wiping. The CM mod and Gapps are already on the internal memory. But I am really afraid.
For the record I did not flash or wipe anything yet, except for running Autorec and rebooting after prompt.
The real question for me is (I guess), is Autorec really unsupported with 4.2.2?
I would like to go on with the process, but I also would like to go back stock if needed in the future (hence the recovery back up I made with TWRP before the bootloop.)
Thanks again for any help what so ever

Hello everyone I need some help with my G2 its the rogers D803, First off I'm kinda a noob when it comes to flashing roms, this is my third G2 I've owned, i bought it off kijiji and its been nothing but trouble, my LTE wouldn't work and I couldn't update it to 4.4, The ota wouldn't work cause the device was not resisted. I tried to update with the LG support tool, when i would connect the device it would say update found then all of a sudden it would say your device is up to date. So i decided I would root it and flash a custom rom. I used TWRP a flashed Mahdi Rom and it worked great. Now here is where I messed up, I decided to try another rom, went into recovery and did my wipe but i accidentally wiped the system along with all the roms and zips I had on the internal storage. now its stuck i n a boot loop, I'm still able to get into twrp and also can get into download mode. my problem is I'm unable to mount the device to get my roms or even my backup folder back onto the device. when i plug the phone in i cant get the drivers to install , ive tried using ADB but my device doesn't show up on there. it does show up on the lg support tool when i put it into download mode. If anyone can help me out it would be much much appreciated. sorry for the wall of text but I'm trying to give as much details as possible.

It was getting stuck on the Lg logo but i was still able to boot into twrp. but good news I just figured it out. I downloaded Koush universal adb driver and was able to sideload a new rom.
first i wanna say that this is my first time trying this and after a lot of research i thought i knew what i was getting into but now i feel completely lost. earlier today I rooted my phone using one click root then installed twrp using auto rec. auto rec seemed to work fine and i clicked open in recovery just to see if it worked. twrp opened no problem but when i went to boot the system back up i started getting security error messages under the LG logo. i tried getting it to boot again after formatting and now its just stuck on the LG logo and not doing anything at all. im almost positive i have a d800 version and pretty sure that i used the right autorec file. i was running 5.0.2 instead of kit kat so not sure if that had something to do with it. please help me out anyway you can, i really need to get my phone working again for work and not sure what to do. i tried searching for an answer but had trouble figuring out what to do.
Yes definetely it has something to do with it. Because autorec uses kitkat kernel. You just have to flash lollipop kernel and you're good to go.

Flash stock firmware with KDZ (Lg Flash Tool) there are a lot of tutorials here on xda.
Good luck.
I'm in the middle of the TOT method right now to get it back to stock firmware, seems to be working. so now if i want to start over and root/get twrp on my phone any suggestions on the best method? i've read a lot of different ways to do it and not quite sure what would be best. sorry if this seems like an easy find, i just dont want to run into this mess again ha.
Lg g2 wont turn on after installing autorec
I have tried to install auto rec on my g2(4.4.2). And now the wont boot and not even going to download mode. When i connected the phone to the computer phone is not getting detected. In the device manager it is shown as android phone=> android bootloader interface. when i try to turnon the phone, the screen just displays some vertical and horizontal lines on left side of the screen. Please help !!!
Good Day everyone
I am in desperate need for some help please, i managed to brick my LG G2, and need help unbricking it
I have the D802 International model.
The story so far, it had Cloudy G2 2.1 Rom on, wanted to update it to, Cloudy G2 3.3 , followed the guide on Blogspot, when, you search for "kevin with tech cloudy G2 3.3" on Google
Wiped the partitions via TWRP 2.7, as stated in the video (everything except internal storage), and then installed the KK-D802 bootloader.
After i rebooted, my G2 did not come boot again, it will go on with the boot logo and the words: "Boot certification verify" Secure booting error. will appear for about 2 seconds then just goes black.
Whenever i try to plug in via USB cable, it will detect multiple new drives in windows and accept me to "Do you want to format". in the device manager i can see device being detected as "QHSUSB_BULK"
My phone is rooted as well.
Some sites recommend using a linux way, but i have been through countless forums, and not sure which way is the right
Please please i need some help unbricking it, and willing to donate to the successful user advice / tutorial of unbricking it.
Thanks for reading and in advance.

Had the exact same issue, I believe it's caused by corrupting the internal memory (multiple causes for this).
Don't freak just follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/tools-srk-tool-useful-toos-lg-root-twrp-t3079076 (there's a video guide at the bottom, but it's pretty straight forward).
After that follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 to get it back to stock and work from there.
Good Day everyone
Thanks for all the advice and help, wanted to update the thread to solved, but things went a bit hectic at work during the week.
Anyways managed to get my phone working again, and restored to original state(thank God).
Basically followed a guide i found on Youtube, used the LG Flash Tool 2014 to flash back to Kit Kat stock, and then from there i rooted and used Auto_rec.
Found a guide on Reddit for Cloudy 2.2 install, flashed correct KK-Bootloader, and restored my Nandroid backup (which strangely at first did not work when restored via TWRP on stock Kit Kat, got the same Secure boot error)
Restored only data and system (everything except the boot) and my phone was back to it's original state.
Hope this helps anyone in the same situation.
PS: I was stuck in some boot loops, so had to format my internal memory as well.
Peace
Hello
Im just recently bought this device from a friend so i could ditch my broken Galaxy S2. I just need a good looking phone that does the job without lag and is unrestricted in terms of access which means, i want to be able to install custom roms. Oh and screen size is also important to me.
I however am NOT new to the android modding community and ive created a couple of things myself, but for every new phone im forced to relearn almost everything. Aaand boy did this phone land me in a very awkward situation that 6 hours of pure googling, experimenting with different firmwares etc, couldn't fix.
I learned the hard way that i have a JDI display and that its less common than the other one. I followed some simple guide where i was on 4.4.2 already and basically rooted it with ioroot. Now the only method ive found so far to install a recovery on a stock 4.4.2 lg g2 (d802) 32gb edition is by using a certain application called autorec.
I did try it. It seemed to work. No error. However, to my suprise i found out i had a screen that was completely covered in white/green/blue lines. By how the procedure was supposed to go, the app was supposed to boot me to twrp recovery after the install. And im guessing it did because i could feel the vibrations of the different buttons as i tapped the screen on different places. But i couldnt see what i was doing.
I researched into it and found out about the whole jdi thing. Found a Europe Open D80230b.kdz firmware and flashed it but just blindly booting the phone into download mode tho it was still covered in lines and couldnt see a thing. Once it was done, the phone booted and the LG logo was visible and the lines started to decay and slowly dissapeared. after about an hour, they were totally gone.
Now to the main issue im having and the question i have for you if can help me.
How do i go about installing a recovery that works (that i can actually see) so that i may access the menu in order to install this ldi kernel zip? Ive tried installing a recovery with the one click root + recovery script by somboons.
It gets stuck on this part "author : blog.lvu.kr
SPECIAL COMMAND : ENTER,LEAVE
#"
I basically CANT install a recovery on 5.0.2 with the one click script because it gets stuck. Cant root it either with SRKTools. I CANT install recovery on 4.4.2 with Autorec because my phone gets covered in white lines and i cant see what im doing. I tried installing a certain jellybean firmware to go from there. Using the open europe d802 jellybean firmware wasnt possible because the flash tool kept giving me disconnection errors. So i tried installing a open polish d802 firmware. got white lines so that is a no go too. One thing that i suprisingly can do. I can root it using the LG one click root method 1.3. The 1.2 script cmd version doesnt work. It gets stuck on the special command # part, however the graphical interface version roots without any problems.
ive found the recovery im gonna use which is supposedly nicer to jdi screen that, according to the creator, is supposed to generate less heat on the jdi screen. however i dont know how im supposed to install it. For now im gonna use the 5.0.2 open europe d80230b firmware til i find a solution. All im trying to accomplish here is to successfully install CloudyG2 3.3. And open the doors for a potential cm13 install.
Finally reached recovery by using this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=wli.areclp802
Read description on whats required if you intend to try it yourself. It requires root and some SuperSU option unchecked. Worked perfectly on my LG G2(D802) with JDI display that ran 5.0.2 lollipop stock firmware 30d. It will flash recovery successfully but then i had to manually press the button inside the app for it to boot me to the recovery. its the newest twrp 3.0 recovery. Now im happily running CloudyG2 3.3

Hi
When I wipe devik, data, cache and system partition using TWRP and reboot, the phone take forever to boot it stuck in LG logo. I don't understand why it stuck when I wipe those partitions. I've tried combination keys to boot in TWRP recovery but it doesn't work. Now I'm stuck. I don't know what to do. My phone is LG G3 (F460L) Android 4.4.2. Please see the photo.
EDIT: I didn't read the system partition thing before answering below... If I'm not completely wrong, your phone can't boot, because there is no system which could be loaded, so your phone is more or less empty, when you wiped the system partition. No more Android 4.4.2 :/ I don't know, why booting into TWRP doesn't work. Maybe you carefully could try to unbrick your phone and reinstall stock rom again.
Hej,
have you ever had booting problems with your phone? I'm in constant bootloop trouble with my D855. Some say it's a battery issue, which I can not confirm since I've tried 4 different ones (including 2 brand new ones). Some others say my mainboard has kind of an unrepairable defect. As I go with this possible explanation, I ordered a new used mainboard from China, hoping for it to arrive in Europe and not beeing fished by the authorities...
I can't say for sure what is the exact issue with my or your phone, the only thing I can tell is that there are tons of posts that can be found on the internet about the G3 having bootloop issues after a couple of years of normal usage. And for most users this came all of a sudden. Believe me, I've invested days of research, uncounted attempts of unbricking my phone (I thought I bricked it somehow, but it wasn't the case) and flashed stock rom and LOS as hard as I could. All ended up in my phone not running stable, crashing and then bootlooping. Sometimes (most of the times) if it's shut down and I want to turn it on, it gets stuck on the LG boot splash screen. It seems that somehow the energy management is not capable of running the phone stable under low voltage, since at least for me the probability of successfull boots slightly rises with a higher state of charge. But I can't take it for granted...
Good luck for you, I will keep reading this thread.
I wipe System Partition which contains Kitkat 4.4.2 but I already flash new ROM (CM13 Unofficial f460) after. There should be CM13 in system partition. I don't know why it can't boot. On the other hand, I can't find official firmware 4.4.2 for F460L (3hours search still no luck). I found only official firmware 6 Marshmallow which I'm afraid I won't be able to root forever if I flash it. I'm really appreciated if you can find one somewhere.

You could follow the link in this post which leads to a russian site. I saw a 4.4.2 version of Android in there. Good luck!
Thanks. I found official firmware lollipop and flash it. I've been searching for a way to root it but most of the method is for D855. Do you know if F460L Lollipop is rootable?

You can use the search function within the forums or search engines like startpage. I don't actually own a F460L and I'm not an expert either, so I don't know, how it works exactly. Punchin the keywords "F460L Lollipop root" into startpage.com brought me the following link as first result:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-everything-lg-g3-cat-6-f460s-t3542542
Just follow the guide in OPs post
I already try LG One Click Root. It doesn't work. When it reach 45% (Looking for LG Serial Port), the phone restart (normal reboot) and it stay at 45% definitely. I manually reboot to Download Mode, still, 45%. Any suggestion?

Sorry, as I'm on a D855, I don't really know. I rooted via King Root which only works with a specific Android version. I used this guide which helped me a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VOgM3jLas4
It's for the D855 but it could work with the F460 too. In the video description, there is a download link to the specific stock rom version for F400 models. The guide tells you where and what to download and how to install. You could try this and I'll keep reading Good Luck!
