Should I get the G2?

Hi guys I currently have a Sprint GS4 and I am thinking of swapping it out for a G2. What I like about the GS4 is there is a large support community, for instance, there are many ROMs many kernels and a lot of people who use them and can help you if you have a problem. On my GS4 I am running sacs custom rom v8. It has the 3minit framework and the xposed framework. I know that the G2 has the exposed framework but does it have anything like 3minit? 3minit allows you to customize just about every aspect of the phones appearance, I am aware that Wanam xposed can do this but 3minit is easier to use and in my opinion does a little bit of a better job. I noticed that for the sprint G2 there is not a lot of ROMs and I don't seem to see a lot of people using them, is that because the phone is still new? Lastly is the G2 worth the upgrade from the S4?
Thanks to anyone who could help!

First.. Sorry for hijacking your thread. But saw no point to make a new one.
Im also on GS4 now and thinking of buying G2(802). Im wonder if there is a good 4.4.2 rom for the device with pie control and option to hide software buttons. I really hate those.
442 still isn't available for daily use. But there are good 43 versions that can do what you want with xposed and similar.
As to the original question, I don't see how xposed is in any way hard to use. I would pick the G2 with xposed any day.

So as I was getting ready for school, reading XDA, I was going to give Checking System Update my last shot for Android L, expecting it not to be there.

guess it isnt as big of a deal, usually sprint rolls these out over time so people who dont have it can sideload, but it seems like they pushed it 100% now. i flashed stock and immediately started to update
Maybe not, i couldn't get a link.
Total file size is 1016.85MB. Downloading it now on my Note 4 as I type this.
I'm so excited! Can't wait to update after work!
Boner...
Just updated. here are some observations that I've made based on the app's that I use on a day to day basis / general observations that I noticed. Smoother. Sweet 5.0 transitions. Contextual colors for the notification bar. Smart Lock (via Moto 360). New keyboard. New calendar: simply more lollipop-esque. It's awesome. Finger print scanner seems to have improved (which I guess I wouldn't be using as much because of smart lock). I usually use Hangouts bc the stock Messaging app was 1)too laggy 2)couldnt read multiple texts on Moto 360. With new update, i tried out the new messaging app. Lollipoped, AS smooth and fast as the the new Messenger app by Google and it allows me to read threads on my Moto 360. I'm sold. Camera app has been slightly tweaked. In Modes we now see fast and slow mo as options as opposed to going deeper into the settings to change it..And best of all: multi tasking capacitive button is finally faster. I never used it bc it was so slow to respond.
Im on rooted with stock recovery ...do I need to unroot to take the ota? Thanks

It's Sense 6 still but hopefully soon there will be sense 7 update
The Virgin Mobile US version is in certification stage of Lollipop release as it shows on the software updates page. I have no idea how much longer that would take.
gsmarena.com said that the new UK Sense version is 6.5. Can anyone with the update verify?

Hey everyone. So I've been offered the lollipop update but I'm worried that the update will give me more problems than solutions. So I'm not updating it just yet. I have concerns about battery life getting worse, like how lollipop does to some other phones. So I'll be patiently waiting to see what you guys think, if you've tried it out already.
Also, the update is ~800MB which is kinda crazy. Guess I'll be deleting apps.
Anyways, please tell me how Lollipop is so far! Hope everything is smooth and fine.
Cheers.
Battery life is worse then on kk..

I confirm that the battery life is way worse than kk.
And the power saver notification (card) is so annoying.
I hope there'll be some fix for these.
By the way the lock screen is updatable on play store after the lollipop update.
Dual sim, Eu version here.
I just started getting the "System update available" notification on my VM USA Desire 816 but I don't want to loose root. Has anyone updated while root? What where the results? Will apps that depend on root access work properly? I have way too many questions.
im tryin to root with the new update and its not working

Then wait after and do it the right way. It'll be better that you know your phone isn't going to break and you'll have to mess with it even more to fix it..
Just installed, so far I think it sucks. STILL can't use a different wallpaper for Lock Screen. Thought it was because of 4.4.2 but I was wrong. It is stupid how other HTC phones can do this but this phone can't. Stupid I have to use 3rd party lock screen to achieve this feature. World clock earth is gone also. So far I hate this update.
this update is good we now hav the new stock htc camara the one with the photo booth mode i didnt really tried it out yet but i hope it dont crash which im sure it wont oh and theres no clear allwhen u click on the recents apps button

So much mixed feedback. I keep hearing battery life is better but here people are saying it's worse. Some say it runs better than KitKat, some say worse, and some say they are even. Don't know who to believe

AT&T Galaxy Tab s2 Marshmallow update is here!

Downloading it now ! 1074.5 mb
I have the 9.7 " version

Is it rolling out in phases? Mine still says my software is up to date on 5.1.1

Looks like the AT&T Tab S2 now supports NumberSync. Can someone post the AT&T Marshmallow ROM? I'd like to install it on my international SM-T815, and see if I can get calls to work. Also, the AT&T ROM should allow the Samsung Gear app to work.

You neither could nor would want to install the att firmware on your device.
If it could and you somehow managed to flash the bootloader you would end up with a locked device forever.
Flashing the system.img is possible, but why when the MM software is already available for your device?

Like I said:
1. I would like to use the Numbersync feature so I can share the same phone number across all my devices.
2. I would like to install the Samsung Gear app from the PlayStore so I can pair the tablet with my watch.
Instead of messing with the SM-T817A ROM, I'll probably just pick up a tablet from AT&T.

So if I have the Sm-t817a tablet will I eventually get the MM update? I bought it off Craigslist the other day and didn't care about the LTE but it was perfect condition 9.7" for $300 . I don't really care about rooting it or anything and it sounds like I'd be screwed anyway if I was bit I have my Nexus devices for that.

So, How did it go? I got the update a couple of days after you and everything is perfect except for the keyboard. Very Often, while I am typing, the system inserts spaces and misses characters etc. It can be a real pain in the a$$ to type on the tablet now.
Well, here we are, 17 days later; and the typing problem is Long Gone. Weird... But, Good !!
BTW
I performed a factory reset before and after upgrading just to be safe.
Anyone else ever receive the update? I'm still stuck on Lollipop.

Haven't received the update here either. Anyone know of a way to force it?

I finally got the update. I didn't have my AT&T sim in the tablet anymore. As soon as I put the AT&T sim back in and checked for the update, it pushed out. Not sure if this will affect anyone else or not.
won't find the update
I've tried doing the update OTA and it hasn't found it yet.
I've tried to do it through KIES and it says that this device is supported by Smartswitch and won't let me do it that way.
I want to do it through Odin, but I cannot find the update file.
Does anyone have a link or copy of the rom so I can get mine updated?
Thanks!
After talking with AT&T, the only way to update this tablet without AT&T service is to go to Best Buy and have them push it for you manually. Alternatively, you can call Samsung @800 726 7864 and they have a way to push it from the cloud or something.
Yes, old thread, but this tablet is STILL the bomb and many people are buying them used off of eBay only to find the last owner never bothered to update to Marshmallow.

I was in the market for a new e-reader (OG Nook Book just wasn't cutting it any longer). Ended up with a Tab 2, but the Nook version due to the additional $50 discount. Was surprised it came with MM, but now I'm trying to figure out how I can get Nougat on it. This tablet really is the bomb!

Pokemon Go 0.37.0 on Rooted S7 Edge

Hi, does anyone know a workaround for getting the latest version of Pokemon Go, 0.37.0, to be playable on a rooted S7 Edge? I have seen the guides out there for using Magisk, but I don't think it can be used with the S7 Edge because of the locked bootloader. Any help is appreciated.
I have been running it for a few days now with no issues
I didn't even know people still played this. I deleted after a month and it's lame and stale. The more I played it the more I wanted to go buy a DS and play a real Pokemon lol

Bumping this because Pokemon Go is now forcing you to update before playing (originally I had just refused to update past version 0.35.0). I think it's either time to quit playing or unroot my phone.
