[Q] Video Recording with Flash 'On' - YU Yureka Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone who is able to record videos with flash on in dark, using the stock camera app ?? anyone ?? I tried many time, with flash on, but it simply turns off the flash after focusing. Any knowledgeable insight or help will be appreciated !

I think it's a bug relating to our camera app... Try to clear cache & data of camera app... Or u can use any other app (like camera 360) in which u can make videos with light on.

Just switch off auto flash light. When open camera you can see four buttons. Click on 2nd button to change auto flash.

No bro... it got nothing with auto flash setting... it's a bug in the camera app (no matter wht setting u put, the video camera just turns off the light after a few second when video recording starts)

i don't have any problem like that. My stock camera is working fine in recording videos with auto flash..... u can use google camera app for this bcoz i had problem with photo capturing and google camera app solved it.

I checked the video camera again. When I start video camera with Auto Flash on the flash light turns off after few seconds and with Auto Flash off flash light lights continuously till video camera stopped. I don't know whether it is a defect? I have installed Lenovo camera but this option is not available in video camera.

flashed the kernel from this page & camera app issues seems to be fixed

Update camera software
On some PCs is Samsung Apps to download the software update camera, unfortunately Xeo. The noticeable change in update adds the ability to record movies with active autofocus (focus operation during recording.) Here a link to the file updater:
com.sec.android.app.camerafirmware_SE-1.apk (598.25 KB)
After launching the application will be updated and the program will then be uninstalled.
If you already have the updated software it displays a message that there is no need to update.

Not working on Motorola Milestone w FroyoMod 2.5
That's weird, my SGS already have autofocus in video recording.
How can I compare the apk version on my phone with that one?
Just tried it out my video recording seems to already actively auto-focus as well.
I don't get it, why people use a firmware to enable a feature that is already here?
Just put/let 2 fingers on the screen while you are recording, then enjoy the zoom and the continuous autofocus .
But well if you want to do so:
Warning with the firmware upgrade, some had third party apps issue and even no camera at all (camera failure)
Bad ! It depends of firmware files, not apk, see in themes and app, there are the files to flash !

Thanks for the tweak . Auto-focus while video recording now works.
ROM--->Darky's 9.5 Extreme Edition
Kernel-->Dark Core 1.4
Works on deodexed JVQ, didn't work before
I have it b4
Works fine on JVQ
JVQ can not be upgraded with this ... well not stock one with cfroot
if the upgrade worked:
-you must have some horrible mess on partitions...
-some custome kernel flashed that was build out of old sources
Erm, unless I'm mistaken the Samsung Galaxy had autofocus during video since Eclair 2.1 as standard. At least on my SGS anyway (Product code CPW)

So is there an auto focus patch for JVQ? I've just tried it out now and there is no auto focus by default despite what some people above were saying.
Seems odd that such a premium feature goes by mostly unnoticed.
Works on Simply Honey v3.9 Rom. It's more like a continous focus one, not an auto focus at the start of the recording, as it refocuses on new subject. Nevertheless, very happy to have stumbled upon this apk! Thank you mate!

I'm not sure I understand what you mean mate.
do not know how does it work for you but for me camera uses focus function
- when i tap on screen - taking a photo
- when i press button to take a picture (i have camera hack applied)
- after pressing record while in camera mode
thaat means mate autofocus works only triggered

I'm sorry if I was a bit vague, I meant continuous focus while in video mode, I've seen some movies on youtube about this.
well you should have autofocus if app says that latest fw is installed

photos in complete dark.. how?

I tried to take a picture to a document in a completly dark place , and I couldn´t focus, i tried with default sense camera, camera zoom and camera 360, in my previous phone, samsung i900 it switch on the flash while focus an then took the picture.. i cant do it with hd2.. any help will be highly appreciated..
t seems that anyone ere likes to take pictures in the dark)
Yeah i know where your coming from, anywhere it's very dark or very bright it's impossible to see when your trying to focus,i was on the beach today with my son and taking some snaps of him playing and i couldn't see with the sun but thankfully the photos turned out ok but with my old digital camera i was able to see a lot more.
Just take the picture. The flash will come on and the picture will be able to be seen.
This is something I was stuck at too. Normally, on a phone with flash, in the dark, trying to focus would temporarily activate the flash to let the phone see where to focus, and then fix the focus on the spot and shoot the picture.
My HD2 won't do that. Just one of the little things no one thought of.
use the torch app widget to flick the torch on, it will; stay on when you jump to camera and focus will work.

Thank you nice idea, I already used two torch widgets but one of them switches off ad soon i hit the shutter and the other doesn't allow the camera to work while its on.. what torch app are you using?

pro-hdr-camera has a torch option in the flash settings which keeps the led on so you can focus in complete darkness, bought it just for that feature. also take pretty decent shots.

ther is no video light option in stock camera app. You should download lgCamera from market. It has "torch" function. just set video to 1280-720 , h.263, 5 mbit, and then you have smoother camera with video light
Examples of lgCamera with LED video light (Torch mode)
allright, did that allready and works fine.
thank you!

nexus4 camera with flash takes black picture.

Stock latest lollipop camera works fine, after camera update takes black picture with flash. Uninstalling update fixed the issue.
Cm12.1 same issue with ROM default camera.
Chroma same issue with default camera.
EDIT: found using latest camera on kitkat is flawless. only when on lollipop and latest camera this issue occurs.
Uninstall google camera...use camera360 instead

dont need these stupid filter camera's. plus it doesn't have video mode.
what i want is a simple no blabla camera that do picture and video, or a fix to this flash issue that takes black picture.
iv got an older google camera and it works fine, but it auto updates so i disabled auto update for now.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera
Use this. It supports video recording too.
Camera360 is also great.
here what i found according to my need that is..
1 old version of Google camera
2 open camera (ui is not great specially settings)
3 better camera (paid but worth it)
Google camera and better camera takes same quality pictures, video is better on better camera on low light condition.
i was facing same issue , but i found a solution . you have to press anywhere on the screen first , 2nd time you press on capture button . it works for me
no that just add inconvenience, i found using older version of google camera is far better, just have to see i don't update it by mistake.

Camera zoomed by default in video mode

Hi. My camera in video mode works in zoom by default, in photo mode everything goes well. This issue appears in stock rom and in xiaomi.eu rom on all camera apps (footej camera's zoom is the shortest one as far as i know). Had anyone the same problem ? No clue what's happening ... :crying::crying::crying:
I think everybody has this problem , i don't really know if it can be normal . Had this thing since i bought the phone .
Do you think that flashing different camera app could help ?

I've tried Open Camera and Footej Camera on the latest Global Beta rom and it shows zoomed in into the preview but when you press the record button it shows and records absolutely normal. Try with another camera and see if it's the same... I don't know what to say..
I think there is some EIS. That's why it is zoomed in. Using another camera will be the solution to your problem.
