Hello,
I'm developing a file explorer, and I want to add changelog to the first screen after the app updates, or is freshly installed, whatever the situation is.
I tried googling, checked a few posts, but its still quite over my head.
Can anyone tell me exactly where do I add the code, and what the code should be.
Thanks in advance

Define an boolean __is_this_first_launch and save it in shared preference. Every time you launch your program check for it and display the change log.

You can do this way.
Compare your current version number and previous version number.
If the current version number is higher than the previous version number then show the dialog containing your changelog

Or this ^ use package manager.

Could it be to do with your version of Sense or something? Perhaps that's a version newer/older than yours (logically newer) and this isn't included in your version?

That should be easy enough, your arrows point to the little vertical bars on the far left, which most likely is a PNG image inside the apk, can you upload apk and i'll take a look see?

If I'm not mistaken it's supposed to be a UI feature of Sense, but for some reason nobody's been able to find it. Maybe it was part of the UI in a beta version but they simply forgot to add it in in the full version?

Apparently is not persistent. On the next calendar update, the colors also get reset (as far as I have seen so far).

??? It's a blank page!
As there's no link, this is what I do (in CM 7.1):
Add your own number to your phone book, set your picture and fill in whatever info you want. Make sure you populate your mobile number in the international format (.e.g mine reads +447987987654)
Settings>Call Settings>Scroll to "Other Call Settings>Additional Settings
Hit "My Phone Number"
Make sure your phone number is in there, again in the international format.
In CM7, for some reason this value is not being retrieved from my SIM, so I need to add it here each time my phone is rebooted. Same for my Wife's Defy too.
Back before I had rooted and was on stock, it's even easier; simply set your Google Profile picture and it is shown on the phone automatically.
Maybe this will help someone.

Do the BlackBerry keyboard predictions work everywhere? They don't work in chrome for me especially when trying to type in the address bar and on Google.
Is there something that I have to enable?
Nope it doesn't work in chrome, there was a modified keyboard here on xda but the poster removed it.

Just an FYI - I didn't install it because I didn't need it.
Here it is the patched version that theoretically should enable predictions in the search bar and such: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByoPaCCmy-TOMmZ0RGE4QmI2X2s/view?usp=sharing

Thanks. I already installed and using it on my note 9. It has some new features like quick phrase, addition number board... but I really want it to have a number row which appear permanent on top. and predict words can use all time or at least in search bar, chrome... that why I'm trying to find a modified apk with hope that someone did my favors.
I actually don't want to switch to another keyboard cuz I addicted of swiping to get predict words..
Thank for replying.:fingers-crossed:
Today I sent a text message to an unknown number (unknowingly, when I was asleep) as follows.
APMN;BVD:4.0.8#ANDROID7.0#H2560W1
What is this supposed to be and how did this message send automatically?
What kind of implications can this have?
Also, I'd like to know what the other data is supposed to mean.

Is that an IMEI number? I recommend you hide that from your post... Check that your number is/ is not one of the ones on the text. No idea what it would be about, but I dont like it - it looks like your IMEI number plus a few other details just got sent to someone? I hope I'm wrong... Who did it send to? Be careful.

Hide the number from your post and never post it. As far as I'm aware, people can steal ur imei and make ur phone useless. It is a risk here but it seems like ur number has already been sent. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong and raising false alarms.
A crap app that has text and other permissions from the sounds of it. Are you on stock rom or rooted custom

Its. All ure build info. Sir it sounds like you have a app on ure device with to many permissions. Are u stock unrooted rooted or custom rom? I would delete many apps. But first go into settings into permissions and see what apps have text permissions. And maby look if any can read info permissions. If its an app its aparantly setup to send at a specific time. But the infos already been sent so u may never see or hear of it again. But i would unistall anything untrusted.
And deny more permissions. Even stock apps can run correctly with some permissions shut down.

Yes. I found out just now that it was indeed my banking. I never logged in so that is a relief.
Edit: can my data still be monitored or was it just that app?

That I do not know. If your not rooted and uninstall it u should be good as it cant modify the system to stay on device
Currently I try to build an app which uses the native C libraries to read data from the MCU. If this works it will open a new dimension of custom app development.
Currently I try to read which SWC button was pressed. In this first aproach I focus on SWC without can box but I think it would be adaptable for can, too.
Please let me know if that sounds interesting for you and if you are willing to try a test app on your head unit.

I attached a test app to first post.
Start the app and its button. Then press a button on your steering wheel (e.g. volume) and see if "key: 0" changes to something else.
I've tried it on every button but the value doesn't change. It stays at 0.

Unfortunately I can't try myself because I don't use can box - as you already know.

Because it is programmed that way in canbus or memory orf head unit.
(root directory - one that you don't see - device must be rooted for super access or engineer mode, then download some file manager from play store and go inside root directory find and edit file responsible for SWC)
You can edit or copy paste or write on root directory a new file.
Even if you can edit it is encrypted or coded for access.
All things can be imported (buttons phisycal of device , SWC, random integrated apps etc.) as a file or number of files into device memory or thru import button on factory settings.

Nevertheless the C library should provide us different values. 0 means no information and editing such a file will not help in current case/investigation.
