[Q] Question about the Professional Audio Framework on SM-G870A - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good Morning XDA,
Based on the research I have been doing, it would appear that the Samsung SM-G870A (AT&T Galaxy S5 Active) does not have the Professional Audio Framework, but that also being said, I haven't found anything that says it doesn't. I have read a lot about the Galaxy S5 (Standard) does have it, but only after upgrading to Lollipop.
Does anyone know if the SM-G870A does or will support the framework?
Thanks in advance,
Jodan20xx

I'm wondering the same thing. I tried to download IK Multimedia Amplitube LE and it says my device isn't compatible, even after a Lollipop upgrade. Help!

There just aren't any resources out there. The hardware from what I can tell will fully support the framework, it just doesn't appear to be implemented.
I wonder if there is an XDA guy that can hack the SDK into the active lol

Screen Mirroring does NOT work when System is in Custom Status. We need a fix PPL!?

Hi,
I have the SM-i900 Version with the snapdagon s801 x Quad Core, Qualcomm_LTE.
Guys, Screen Mirroring does NOT work when you are in Custom Status, this happened to be the same story when I googled and found S4 users had the same issue, was the same post after post after post of people stating the same thing "I get an error or hardware device error when screen mirror starts" or "It will start for 4 seconds then stop"
I have tried Triangle away, this did nothing.Kernel makers, Devs, wizards. Can you guys whip up something for this, it has nothing to do with Knox I don't care about knox. The problem is when you flash custom kernel it will give your phone custom status. Offcourse I can get official status if I flash the original kernel, but then whats the point of having an android if you cant tweak it. I mean Its kind of ridiculous not being able to run one of the BEST features of future tech "Screen Mirror" This has SO MANY uses its crazy not to be able to use it.
Can anyone direct me or maybe help find a way, this is for all of u, one day when you need to use it you will be asking Same question if you love tweaking your rom, you would not want to flash everything back to stock just so you can use that feature.
Ok Guys I found something -
So I grabbed the S800 Version as it was the closest to the S5 S801 I replaced the the file, First it reboot when I started Screen mirroring, then I tried it again and guess what? This time it actually worked and it mirrored my device onto the TV and then I see FC >> Allshare cast S/W Update
This is the update that is in the playstore, which gets updated automatically.
Anyway I can tell it doesnt work 100% so I removed it again.
I think we are very close to solving this problem, If we can somehow port this file to a S801 Version then I bet you Screen mirror will work.
Here is the File fix which was created for the S4 - I9506 S800 ---- http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...7&d=1409380066 From the same link I pasted below
I wonder if this can be ported to the S5 I dont think it should be that hard with the right tools.
Here is the S5 S805 Version https://www.dropbox.com/s/bpqtkskqcc...ht_wfd.so?dl=0
It will be greatly appreciated if someone was able to do it.
What I found out it is all about HDCP. and turning it off, I think its the same thing as Enforcing Selinux , If I was able to decompile a *.SO file in Windows I think I may have chance to do this myself.

Hi mate
Basically it works in any android 4.0 + base rom device see from one of his threads
For which devices/ROMs does it work?
I develop the Xposed framework based on the AOSP sources. I'm personally using CM10.2 on an I9100 (Samsung Galaxy S2, bought in Germany). Basically, it should work on any phone which with a ROM based on Android 4.0 or later and an ARM or x86 processor (this is the processor architecture, almost all smart phones and tablets have either of those). Exceptions might be ROMs which are different from the original Android code in some very internal, central code parts (which don't need to be touched for most theming and enhancement modifications). But this is related to the ROM, not the phone itself.
The modules target higher-level code, so they are more likely to be incompatible with your ROM. Basically, the question is whether the methods and resources which the module modifies are similar on your ROM and on the developer's ROM. Let's say a module needs to modify the result of a certain method call. For this, it needs to specify the exact name and parameters that identify that method. If the in your ROM, an additional parameter has been added, the module can't find the method anymore and won't work. If the method can still be found, it will probably work (unless the rest of the app/ROM has changed too much).
There is not definite answer whether it will work. Just try it (of course, making a nandroid backup before is never a bad idea). If it doesn't work, just disable the module. You might want to inform the module developer (not me!) about this fact and provide details (e.g. a logcat and/or the content of /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/log/debug.log).
Try with latest 2.6.1

MirrorLink function on Note 3

Hi guys,
I've been looking on xda and google about getting my MirrorLink function to work in vain.
Let me explain :
- A lot of new cars and accessories have a "screen mirroring" function based en MirrorLink. I have a 208 Peugeot with SMEG+ using this MirrorLink technology. The principle is easy, you plug it on USB port of your car and you can use your phone on the screen of your car.
- it seems that some galaxy devices have build-in MirrorLink function (Note 4, S5, S6 for e.g)
let me give you some links to the official sites : http://www.mirrorlink.com/phones/Samsung and how to activate MirrorLink http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00038745/748763598/SM-G920AZWEATT
- some forums said Lollipop update would bring MirrorLink to Note 3 but I've installed the latest stock official update 5.0 and still nothing working.
So I was wondering if someone had a solution. I think this is purely software problem and I was wondering if getting a custom 5.1 rom or GN5 rom could solve the problem and bring MirrorLink support.
Also if its possible to add a manual update.zip just to give MirrorLink support :highfive:
I hope someone can help on that.
Thank you

[Q] SM-N9108V (Chinese) Custom ROM options

Hello peoples!
First, allow me to kick myself for buying a Chinese phone. OUCH. There, moving on.
I have the Note 4 model SM-N9108V, Android v5.1.1, and it's been a complete nightmare to deal with it. (IT DOES NOT HAVE GOOGLE PLAY!) It seems this is the least common model out there on the internet. I have been able to find guides for all versions of the Note4, but for my version is very difficult.
After some brick scares, I was finally able to root my phone, install ClockworkMod Recovery and Open GApps. While it's "usable" now, some things still don't work. For example, The automatic Google Sync just does not work for some reason. I have to go on Settings and automatically click on everything to sync (calendar, contacts, etc).
So, I'm guessing my only option is to flash a custom ROM. But I can't find ROMs specifically for this device....
What are my options here? Can I install CyanogenMod made for the international version? Is there a Android 5/6 Stock ROM out there in the wild that I'm not aware of?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
TL ; DR Which custom ROMs are there for the SM-N9108V? Is there a Android 5/6 Stock ROM available? Can I install the CyanogenMod for another Note4 version?

Hello.
Allow me also to kick myself since i bought also this stupid version of Note 4. And imagine i exchange it with a S5. What a deal!
Anyway, there is a very nice MIUI ROM (xiaomi style) for this phone, see my post here where i collected all the posts explaining how to do it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66904680&postcount=2
Also you can root it and install also google play and everything is working fine.
Except the 3G and 4G! in my case they are not working well, i have drop calls, no data connection etc..
Can you tell me, do you operate the phone outside China? is it working ok on 3G?

Chinese galaxy note 4 gapps that work!!
Hi. It's been.a while since I've seen this post, looking for a solution for this phone. I finally got it working properly with all the Google apps.
After installing TWERP, I have tried many different gapps packages but always had the same result. Google apps crashing over and over again. I have finally found the right one and made my phone fully functional.
baNkS’s Dynamic*Gapps for Marshmallow*(279 MB)
This being my first ever post on this forum, I am bot allowed to post any outside links. But you should be able to Google it.
In the description, it says that the built-in script detects the chipset and installs the correct set.
Upon installation and restart, the Google services still crashed every couple of seconds but I was able to sign into my Google account. And, after an update, everything was fine.
I hope you find this useful, since it's an old post

Want to upgrade my tab 4 7.0 (sm-t239) to lollipop or higher please

Hello! I just want to update my galaxy tab 4 7.0 (sm-t239) lte to android 6.0 or higher
Any custom os or rom would do. Help me if anyone knows please
Thanks in advance!
No. Basically Impossible. The marvel pxa1088 chip in this device, never had it's sources (of drivers for hardware, to make a higher version of android work on this device and successfully activate and use the hardware) released. Developers essentially have nothing to start with.
Someone reverse engineered, supposedly from the stock firmware, and built an android 5.0 lollipop ROM but it is definitely impossible to use as essentially NOTHING worked, including Wi-fi.
So unfortunately you can't. Better buy a phone/tablet with exynos/Snapdragon chipsets inside as those got more support.
