I received lollipop earlier this week and ever since then when I get a new notification for a email or text message for example my phone's screen doesn't turn on. My LED notification light will turn on, but that's about it. I'm using the stock lock screen for the record. Does anyone know if there is a way to change this? When I'm at work I keep my phone on vibrate and the screen turning itself on is what usually gets my attention.
If anyone has any input on this situation it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

Today I was texting and when I got a text I would grab the phone and try to type but as soon as I got to the phone the screen turned off. seemed like the timing is like a few seconds too short. Is there a way to change this setting? It's not the normal screen timeout. Thanks in advance.
on a side note... has anyone found a way to turn off the battery notifications for low power and fully charged.

For the home button waking phone issue, see this thread in this forum from yesterday:

I'm not as worried about the Home key, but I have the same complaint about receiving SMS.
When I receive a text message, my screen turns on for a few seconds, then turns off again. Is there a way to stop this?
If I touch the screen when it is on, it takes me into whatever I touched, and the screen stays on. That is particularly a problem when it turns on while in my pocket.
My phone is set to have no lock screen (and unless you use a PIN or similar, I don't know why you would want a lock screen - it's just one more step to get to using your phone).
My Messaging app is set to show notifications in the notification bar and play a sound and vibrate, but not to show a message preview.
So, I think it's actually a bug that the screen would turn on at all, just from receiving an SMS or MMS message.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to stop this behavior?
I have a stock Note 3 from ATT - SAMSUNG-SM-N900A running android version 4.3. My phone does this weird double display anytime there is an incoming call or a reminder from my calendar. I will get the standard display that an incoming call is occurring, then the screen will quickly return back to the password lock screen (where I have to enter my pin) if my phone is locked or just the standard swipe to unlock screen if not enough time has passed. Then is quickly switches back to the notification screen. So basically you see notification, lock screen, notification... one right after the other. It is really annoying as I try to swipe to ignore the notification or touch answer to to answer the call and it does that weird display thing. I do have a pin password on my phone due to the connection to an exchange server requiring it.
Has anyone else seen this? I am getting ready to take this in to ATT and have them check it out, but I really don't want them doing any kind of hard reset if I don't have to. Thank you in advance for any help with this.
Before I used to get sms notifications displayed on my lock screen, but now the phone just turns on and doesnt no longer show on lock screen that I have a new message. I just turns on and blinks the LED. Does anyone know of a way to return to the old way where looking at the always on display would show sms notification?
Anyone even browse this anymore lol
Hello,
I just got the S8 and can't figure out how to get this to work. Whenever I get a text I'd like my phone to wake from sleep (screen wake up) like iPhone. I don't want to turn on the Always on Display.
So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
