I just ordered by 32gb Moto X. Black with blue accents and a bamboo back. I'm considering going with no case. I did purchase Moto Care with it. I figure, a design this nice and this unique shouldn't be covered up. Plus it just feels so great in the hand. Anyone else use no case?
Congrats!!!
Just ordered mine today too. Got the black front, bamboo back, and dark gray accents. I too went with 32gb...
Amazon has Hula cases on sale right now. Keeps the style of ur phone with a little added protection. I don't use a case but when my hula arrives I'll try it out.
My Moto X is caseless. I only use it when I know it's not going to be put in harms way. Other times, like when I'm at work, I use either my N5 or my iPhone 6, both of which are in cases. The Moto X is way too nice of a phone to keep in a case.
First of all welcome to the family. I also do not use a case, one of main reasons i chose this phone is the looks.
Cheers.

And this is why there aren't that many case options for the Moto X. I am not complaining; just pointing it out to those who complain about the dearth of case options. When you make a phone with wood and leather backs and custom color combinations as well as engraving options, many people don't want to case their devices. So the case manufacturers perceive the market to be limited and don't invest in making cases.
Again, not complaining, just explaining to those (not you) who complain that there aren't a wide variety of cases available for the Moto X.
Welcome to the family. You will enjoy your new phone. I don't use a case and have the MotoCare.
congrats on getting a great phone.
i have cognac leather with silver accents and i go caseless. its beautiful and gets comments all of the time. i also have motocare.
if i am traveling i keep my nexus 6 in a slim case because it is extra slippery. having a leather phone spoils one when it comes to metal and plastic.
Get a motivate and go ceaseless. This phone is fantastic without a case
I go case less but use a Seidio holster which holds the phone quite securely.

Be careful with the bamboo and really check it. I had mine for almost a month then realized it wasn't fully glued on the one corner.
Sent it back for the leather back. I even had the same accents and everything as you ha.

did you receive an email regarding status or shipping? ordered mine on the 12th and haven't heard or received anything. estimated delivery is supposed to be march 20th according to the order page, but it also said i'd receive an email with tracking info, and i have not. i'm starting to wonder if something is holding my order up.
just curious..
The Naked Tough looks great on the X2. It's not gonna avert a major drop or spill but should suffice for daily bumps and dings.

A few notes:
Purchased from this link: TPU Case
Would I recommend this case? Hell Yes.
Would I recommend this eBay seller? Probably. Postage was pretty slow, but I had no problems at all. (I ordered on the 26th of May today is the 14th of June)
Also included with the screen protector is some kind of scratch repair stuff. I don't know how to use it though, luckily my screen is scratch free.
I got the first generation of the sikai cases. The fat, ugly, matte ones. Still they fit perfectly, and can really absorb shocks. The included screen protector was of above average quality.
They are a bit pricey though, I got an amazing TPU case for my Desire Z for 5$ or something wichi is actually 2 cases due to the weird design of the device. Anyway, I dont see any other option right now, so I recomment the sikai cases too.
I bought a black Sikai case off of Taobao. But it is different from yours. Mine covers more of the front on the phone. Awesome case, it will protect the screen should you drop it face down. Screen protector, not so awesome. Caused the screen to have a grainy image by distorting the pixels. Went and paid 40 RMB for a heavy duty screen protector custom cut for the screen and camera lens. What is the blue film thing that came with it?
Hey Poulsen8r
Can you give any feedback on a couple of things...
I have a Nillkin case i bought off e-bay. It fits nice but I found that when sticking the USB in the case got in the way and stopped it from going in all the way.
Same with the headphone jack.
The holes were too small on mine...I noticed your USB hole was much bigger and wondered how you are finding plugging in.
Cheers
Ordered one and it arrived yesterday...it took almost 30 days.
The case is excellent especially around the the USB port. The headphone space is still a little narrow for some of my headphone jacks but better than before.
It feels sticky to the grip which is nice as the phone is less likely to slip out of my hand.
I got the blacj shiny one and it looks great. The fit, especially around the front face lips perfectly.
The sent me the wrong LCD screen protectors but that's OK. I didn,t get any of the extras like cute badges or anything like that.
I recommend this brand
i have one and is near perfection
yeah i have one too, and its great!
Poulsen8r, what is color of the cover you have bought: Light Blue or Dark Blue? I'm guessing its Dark Blue, am I correct?
that's a light blue case
Are you sure? It seems more darker than the light blue.
Sent from my u8800 using xda premium
yes, i'm sure. i have the same one.
Thanks! Now buying it!
it's a great case though the screen protector that comes with it sucks
Thanks for the review! It made me buy the sikai case

I would also enjoy having this case.. Really hoping it comes out

PDair And Piel Frama have made flip cases (both vertical and horizontal) for Nexus devices. I assume they will for the 4 as well. I just emailed PDair so we'll see what the response is.

"Thanks for your enquiry. LG Nexus 4 E960 on planning schedule, but our Marketing Department not yet confirmed the release date."
So at least they're working on it and I will wait for one of these.
Leather cases already available in Europe
There is a European vendor (docteur-gms.com) with a number of cases for the Nexus 4, including leather wallet and leather flip cases. I cannot yet post full links so add http to the following //docteur-gsm.com/en/2573-lg-nexus-4. There are many color options and styles available. If I buy a Nexus 4 (I'm waiting to see the early real world reviews by all you first adopter buyers to make my decision), I'll probably get one of the leather cases from this site. I don't know what import duties will run, but the prices for the leather cases seems reasonable when converting from Euros to Dollars (although I didn't try to calculate shipping).
Maybe they'll make one like they do for the N7, and that one is only $20 so for a phone it should be ~$10.
Just seeing if I can post a photo of the black leather flip case for the LG Nexus 4 at the site that I referenced in my earlier post. They have a white one that opens from the side, but like a lot of their products, they've posted the Samsung Galaxy S3 product photos. Hopefully, they'll get all their product photos updated ASAP once they get their hands on an actual phone.

Do you (or anyone else) know of any other manufacturers of leather folio cases?
I checked out the PDair and Piel Frama flip/folio cases for the Galaxy Nexus and I wasn't that impressed. I'm looking for a SLIM and simple leather folio case.
I cant wait for a flip case either.
Sorry... Started to repeat myself.
I sent out emails to several OEM's, interestingly all replied but most with generic responses. I did get one semi specific response:
"For the Nexus 4 custom flip covers, we are currently evaluating the market. Due to lack of easy access to the battery cover, requiring users to apply manual labor, use scarce tools and remove the original battery cover might cause warranty issues. This will significantly reduce the size of the market we would cater to."

I doubt if we'll ever get these from LG
Why can't these manufacturers make a transparent snap-on case that goes on the back and includes a flip-cover? I don't see why they'd even consider the idea of "removing the non-removable battery cover" just to apply a case onto it.

also have the right to left open design.
I also have the poetic hardcover and it was 5 bucks on amazon. Works pretty good too.
I hated the Poetic. Finally settled on the Mercury. It is not leather, but has kind of linen feel, is well made and fits well, with a nice magnetic latch.
BTW, Samsung wants 60 bucks for that flip case... which is kind of a rip IMHO.
My Nillkin fresh case has held up well for me, but I acknowledge they're not of the best quality. The < $15 offerings I've seen don't seem to have great quality either, though I would be happy if someone had a counterexample.

This one (Mercury) looks similar to the Samsung flip cases, though the back could be nicer and though I haven't tried it, I'm expecting it to have ok quality like the Nillkin.
The Korean wallet ones on ebay are nice but may be bulky compared to this one, and are more expensive (~$25).

I got mine from one through eBay. I ordered two and they replaced one but now say they'll give me a discount on my next purchase. Doesn't really fill me with confidence :/ . Do you still use yours? I do. I've just burned the edges to seal the open flaps. Scruffy but effective.
So Droid Life got their hands on it already. Looks pretty good. and I actually like the Droid badge on it compared to the pictures.

Good point.. looks like the 64GB model is the only one that doesn't have the VZW branding.
Pictures I've seen so far show no logo on all the nylon models. Just the MGF.
My guess is that the logos are embossed onto the MGF, but Verizon probably didn't bother to have a badge stamped out for the nylon models. Would probably cost too much to have it made than it's worth. The websites just show it for promotional purposes I suppose.
See here.
I just swung by the Verizon store near work on my break to see if they had one out on the floor yet and they didn't. Guy said they will on Thursday.
I thought I saw one, but it was just a red Droid Maxx. If the MGF is anything like the red back on that thing (slippery shiny plastic) there is no way I will get MGF. The texture on the nylon looks and probably feels sooooo much cooler. it sort of reminds me of the back of the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic Touch 4G (the longest, dumbest name for a phone ever) that my girlfriend had. It was neat because it was just enough texture to be unique, but not really distracting.

I am so freaking in on this beast!! 64 gig all the way. That will be plenty for me. I've made do with 32 gigs no problem. and the nylon one with that droid badge with a touch of read. This phone was made for me. I'm still a little shocked at the price for what they packed in this thing. What a steal!

The side pieces are perfectly aligned, no issues here. They must have fixed it.
Well, I have now gotten 2 replacements and each one has been too small to cover the sides of the Z Force. I am going to request a refund.
Good idea. I ordered a wood skin if that changes anything...
D brand skins has nice sets. Customizable. I just ordered a camera skin. It scratches too easy, and a skin should fix it.

That they don't. Dbrand usually prioritizes fit before adding extra fluff. If the side pieces aren't supplied, it's usually because they thought it would be too much trouble for users.
Slickwraps just goes for volume.
does the wrap (dbrand or slickwraps) help with how slipper the phone is? I want to use the phone without even the style mod.

For some reason, mostly sales, i keep ordering Slickwrap skins and I highly don't recommend them.
The last one I ordered, marble, looked plain bad, nothing like the photo on the site. Same thing with the gold flake, thing was actually kind of metallic. Odd for a wood skin but...
Bought one for the G3 and it's fit was uncomfortable, not to mention the mahogany wood grain was not as realistic as the exoskin I was used to or dbrand.
Plus when I ordered my black marble skin my wife order a few for he v20. It took 20 days to arrive.
Not a fan at all.

I guess I should've taken a photo. I don't think anyone could tell the Slickwraps marble skin, I ordered the black, was supposed to be marble. There was no texture. It was like they printed a marble texture on plain vinyl. My only comparison, again since I'm a wood skin fanatic, is the dbrand concrete. That wasn't obvious as concrete, my wife thought it was supposed to be wood, but it was textured as you'd expect.
