Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm currently in Hong Kong and will be here fairly frequently over the next year or so. I have an LG G2 (UK version - D802) and I'm on an All-you-can-eat contract with Three back in the UK.
I'm planned to use the Feel at Home element of the contract here in Hong Kong as its listed as being one of the compatible countries and now that I'm here my phone connects to the Three network fine but it will always connect as 2G or 3G... When I specifically search out the Three 4G network it comes up with an error saying "Unable to connect to this network at this time, please try again later" when I try to connect. Form what I can tell the 4G frequency used in Hong Kong is one that I should be able to pick up on the D802 so I'm not sure whats wrong. Any ideas? I was able to pick up a 4G signal in the US when I tried there.

Is there any way of knowing in which countries GPRS will work in? I've got a T-Mobile MDA Vario and on one or two occasions I wasn't able to get GPRS up and running in order to browse the net. Just wondering if it doesn't work in some countries or if that was a coincidence.
Isn't there a list of countries/companies which T-Mobile have roaming agreements with on the T-Mobile website ?
Yes but this only indicates where you can use the phone. My understanding is that this does not necessarily include GPRS/data availability or access.
Yes, just because you can roam does not mean you can use GPRS. I do not think that info is on www.gsm.org either. Drop an email to T-Mobile customer service if it isn't on their site.
Must admit I always buy a local SIM for data usage now that many operators have pre-paid GPRS.
GPRS abroad..
T-Mobile do have partners abroad - for the preferred network to use and cheaper calls - but that doesn't mean you will get any of your GPRS allowance wheilst roaming.
I have the Web'n'walk tariff , but my mobile bill was still over £160 when I got back after a week in Eire.
I think the GPRS / MMS data usage was at their standard roaming tariff.,, whatever that is.

Some examples
I couldn't use GPRS with O2 in UK (where T-Mobile wasn't available). I had no trouble with multiple carriers in Barcelona and always found T-Mobile itself in Frankfurt and Bonn. GRPS works in Paris (didn't note the carrier) and never worked with any of NINE partners in Taiwan last year.
prestonmcafee, thanks for the examples. Your visit to the UK must have been some time ago, T-Mobile exists here now, I think they initially came in the market a couple of years back when they acquired what used to be one to one, or whatever they were called.
Yesterday!
Sorry I wasn't clear, what I meant was that I couldn't get GPRS in the UK in the places where T-Mobile wasn't available; T-Mobile is usually available but not always. Victoria Station and Heathrow have places where T-Mobile's signal is so low that the automatic connection on a US T-Mobile phone connects to O2, and in this case, GPRS will fail.
Sometimes, but not usually, a manual connection would turn up T-mobile even when the phone had connected to O2.
I just returned from 5 weeks in the UK yesterday.

The army as deemed it necessary for me to be stationed in South Korea.
Last weekend I decided to go to the beach. I happened to take my KOREAN Galaxy S2 on a nice little swim with me. Needless to say it was on and fried by the time I got out.
My Wife has sent me my SIM unlocked Motorola Atrix 4G formerly on ATT.
I have my SK Telecom SIM card in the phone and My phone recognizes that. When I search for operators it finds KOR SK TELECOM so I press it. It says Registered on Network. But then the little orange triangle with a ! in it says Service (KOR SK TELECOM) Unavailable. I did the *#*#4636#*#* to see if I could fix it. No options in there helps. It shows my IMEI phone number and shows that I am connected to the network yet still no service.
I have my preferred network type set to GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)
My SMSC: is blank and when I press update or refresh it says Update Error or Refresh Error.
My Signal strength reads anywhere from 79dBM - 99dBM It shows my location.
Anyone have any clue on how to get this working?
I have a similar issue with my S2 in South Korea - using someone elses sim, it doesn't work. 'no data network available' or similar error message. I ended up taking it to the samsung service center and they promise to have it sorted by next week
I took it to a local cellphone store and got it all sorted out. South Korea services are a little bit different. Apparently the networks here demand to have the IMEI of the phone registered the the SIM/Phone number in order to stop the use of stolen or lost phones with other SIMS. I got mine registered to my sim card for free and it is up and working now.

Is your cellphone bought oversea?
I bought a HTC Panache from Canada and had it authorized by KCC via online.
I took the phone and authorize letter to a local store in a small town and the staff had no idea what to do with it.
I read some where that KT is more foreigner friendly but I would like to keep my existing SIM from SKT so any solutions??
hey sell me your fried sgs2
I recently bought a note 3 from hong kong and its the 16gb version but it doesn't work with the 3 network in the UK? The strange thing is that sometimes I pick up a signal when I go to a different city but only briefly, also my phone shows signal bars but get the message "not registered on network". I've tried sims from vodafone and EE and they work fine, but can't get 3 to work?
I've flashed different custom roms and different basebands/modems but with no luck.
Hi guys,
2 month ago I bought a secondhand S4 (KOT49H.I9505XXUGNH6 - ARMv7 processor - android 4.4.2) in Thailand for I´m on a bicicyle journey and wanted to use GPS navigation und Internet. For now everything went well.
Now I´m in Georgia and I want to use 4G Network via Prepaid Company "beeline". The phone connects only to 2G. In "network-mode" it shows only GSM and WCDMA, neither 4G. Even if I force the 3G Network it gives me the messages "Selected Network unavailable". I found out that the phone is a branded version from Vodafone Australia (VAU) - not a hunch how the phone comes to Thailand. Anyway.
Is there anything that I can do to unlock 4G Networks for my phone?
thx in advance
cheers ben
Make sure the sim card from beeline is a 4g card
I'm on AT&T and just bought an unlocked LG V20 H990N (Hong Kong version). I took the phone to AT&T to get a new SIM card and have it set up, but it wouldn't connect to mobile data. The people at the store told me to call customer service since the phone is considered "jailbroken," and they couldn't get it to connect. Customer service referred me to tech support. Tech support told me the phone isn't being recognized by AT&T's network. The phone is being recognized as a 2G phone, which obviously isn't the case. They submitted a request to provision the phone to their network, which could take up to two week. They said I should have 4G access as soon as it's complete. Has this happened to anyone?
From everything I've read online, the phone should have no trouble working. People use it on AT&T just fine so I don't know why this is happening. I can make and receive calls. It says "3G" at the top, but I can't connect to mobile data. I can use it on WI-Fi only. I'm not a tech savvy person. I was hoping to get some insight here. Any information would be helpful.
This phone (hong kong version) has several data networks like GPRS, EDGE, TD-SCDMA, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+, TD-LTE, LTE, LTE-A
Theoretically it should work.
Ask someone at the AT&T store to check if the sim card is OK

If the SIM card isn't OK, would I be able to make calls and text like I can now?
Someone mentioned that the phone isn't working because I didn't use my old SIM card. Should this even matter?
I went back to AT&T. They tried different APN configurations and eventually got it to connect to mobile data.
But it's only a 3G connection. How do people get 4G LTE with this phone in the U.S.? This is so frustrating.
Using the Taiwan version H990ds, no issues. 4G LTE on bands 2, 4 and 17. H990N should support the same bands so you should get LTE.
Brother,
Can you advise where you find the root procedures or how you root the V20H990N (Hong Kong Version)? It is because I also has one but I don't know how to root this phone.
