Hi Guys
Since I moved to Lollipop 5.0.1 on my n9005 I've had nothing but problems with "unfortunately, contacts has closed".
I've tried all the fixes clearing data and cache on -
Contacts
Contacts Storage
Dialler Storage
Goggle contact sync
Ive removed google+ and eventually re flashed my ROM but cant use my nandroid backup as the issue comes back with the backup.
So I was thinking of just using a third party dialler but I cant seem to import my contacts into any of these.
Does anyone know of an independent app that does not require the built in contacts app to maintain the contacts list ? (or if anyone can fix the original problem im all ears )
Thanks
Richie

sorry man not what I need and I still cant work on my contacts as this app appears to use the stock contacts app also.
I'm needing to be able to import my contacts to whatever dialer app I use.
Do some searching in the rom thread. If i remember correctly, there were some reports regarding this. It was an app causing it.

you sir are a legend. the culprit if anyone is interested is Linkedin. remove this and it goes away immediately. this appears to happen whether you have linkedin sync your contacts or not, the whole app must be removed.

Hi, I haven't found thread about it so...
every time i reboot my legend (with stable cm7 and gapps) i'm missing of facebook's account. but... when i try to create one, i can't (after click to add account, i get redirected to main screen with all accounts). I found solution to that (clear cache in apps manager), however, i don't want to do it every single time i reboot my phone. could anyone give me a solution ? thanks a lot.
First, please make sure that the facebook app is not installed on your SD card.
Okay i moved it to internal memory. So it should help, right?
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
Well, you're the only one who can test that. Please try to post in the correct subforum in future.
I had the same problem after moving to CM7. I think it's caused because facebook and all the other apps are installed right after the first start but before installing and setup the gmail app. Do you have the gmail app installed?
Deinstall and install again the facebook app helped me.
PS: the official Twitter app had the same problem in my case.
I have installed all the apps like gmail etc. Moved to.phone's memory helped.

Hi, I'm using miroslav_mm SDSL 3.0 rom ad I'm having an issue with widget that use quickcontact. I'm using GO SMS Pro widget that shows the contact portrait received SMS's. When the portrait is clicked a quickcontact bar should pop up with shortcuts to call, send SMS or edit the contact but instead a pop out the following message: 'QuickContact component cannot be found in your system'. The same happens with GO Contacts widget.
Anyone knows how to get this working because on Google Play, GO SMS or even GO Contacts widgets say that this is working on Android 2.1 or later so should be working on 2.3.7...

Man, I'm always flashing new roms, now I'm experimenting leoposas zoe 2.0 rom, it's basically sdsl but with some tweaks of his... and when i say i'm always flashing new roms i mean backup contacts & sms, factory reset, format system+boot and then flash new rom. Basically cleanest flash is impossible
I've figured it out, quickcontacts component is embedded on contacts.apk, i'm using go contacts so i uninstalled the stock one.
Can't get rid of a few apps, tried force closing and then it won't give me an option to uninstall.
Also tried the recovery uninstall trick, didn't work...help!

You can try system app remover, you need to be rooted https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp&hl=en.
And wrong section, next time you need to post in Q&A http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/help

Thanks, yeah I got it installed. Can I uninstall the Gmail app or does it need it to login to my accounts and everything? It keeps opening itself and I never actually use Gmail so I want to know if I can delete it. And sorry it appears that I post every single post in the wrong thread somehow

Recently, I've noticed that the Messaging app will automatically set itself as the default SMS app. I don't like the Messaging app, I don't want to use it. How am I able to stop this from occurring?

For me that only happens on a reboot

This happens to me constantly. I want to use hangouts as my default messaging app, but it randomly (or so it seems) switches back to the stock messaging app. I did notice that when this happens it also switches back to the original lock screen (I use GO Locker now).
I thought about removing the messaging app (my phone is rooted), but I'm not sure how that would affect the phone. I also can't seem to find the app under the list of apps I could uninstall.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

you could try freezing it with titanium backup
Don't freeze or remove the stock messaging app. I switched from ART runtime back to Dalvik, after reading that somebody experienced problems upon switching runtimes. Are you by chance on ART?
Edit - I also ought to mention that I haven't had it reset since I made the switch.

Cool, I'm glad I asked before I tried to do so.
As far as I know I am still using Dalvik runtime.

Switching to ART and then reverting to Dalvik would be my only suggestions then at that point. I hope it's resolved, I've been loving Messenger. [emoji14]
Does anyone else experience this problem? I am on latest oxygen 2.1, tried with stock kernel and latest ak kernel and have xposed with few modules.
I have had facebook version 46 which had worked perfectly fine until the v47 update from the playstore..which had completely messed the app up. A TBU restore of my previous v46 does the same now...
A clean flash has been done and still problems persist..anyone know of a fix?

I have a similar issue though it lets me log in and read my feed but when I try to update status it closes on me. So now I've uninstalled the app and logged in through chrome (which has a similar ui appearance as the app does) and then I made a home screen short cut for my news feed. So its not a lot different than having the actual app. Honestly might be better for performance overall since the app is kind of a data/battery hog.
But I guess Ill ask if you have the issue with duplicate sms threads in Google messenger app. I had to switch to hangouts which works but just wondering if you have the issue and/or a fix.
I am also stock 2.1 but on stock kernel. Unrooted and locked bootloader.
Looks like it could be an issue with the Facebook app itself. Seems to be a lot of issues being reported after the last update. Mine is the same won't load.
Same problem here. Able to log in facebook app but it crashes the moment it goes to the newsfeed. clean wipe hasn't helped. :/

You can fix this by uninstall Facebook and install Facebook v46.0.0.26.153. I'm not able to post link on xda right now so just google it !
EDIT :
The beta version 49 seems to work too.
I guess it has to do with individual app permissions settings in OP2. Some apps will malfunction if they are not designed with some permissions restricted. Can you check it if all permissions are active for facebook app in settings?
I am also facing the same issue Facebook crashes just after logging in ....
alternate solution is download Facebook Lite from play store by the time issue get fixed

Facebook Lite is not available in France. So I use the v44 and it works.
it's a facebook issue, not a OPT issue. If you read in play store, many users have same problem and use other devices
Experiencing the same problem on my oneplus app crashes everytime i try to load news feed
It happened to me too. As a workaround, I've installed it from the Amazon app store and now it works.
Having similar issue somebody post an old apk

This is good advice IMHO. Just use chrome for now. Very similar layout, works flawlessly there's nothing more I can say apart from that I will keep the app and just wait for the fix.
