Hi,
I have Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910G and like the fingerprint sensor to unlock but sometimes it doesn't work and I need to use a backup password. Is there a mod or app so it can just be pattern unlock or a PIN?
Please help meeeee
Thank you,
Kevin

dont need an app. change password policy in knox after enrolling and select a shorter minimum password length (4 digits).

Is it possible to have both a swipe lock and a pin lock? I want to have a pin lock if the phone hasn't been used or unlocked for 30 minutes and a swipe lock to avoid accidentally unlocking the phone. The pin lock is a requirement for accessing a corporate Exchange account.
It worked on my old Nexus One with CyanogenMod 7.2. But I haven't figured it out on my Nexus 4 with CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly
I'm sure this would be possible using tasker if you have any experience with that app. In fact tasker allows you to pin lock only certain applications which may come in handy for you. You should look it up if you haven't heard of it before.

I was able to set a pin lock with Tasker using Secure settings. But I'm not sure what will happen if I disable the pin lock and switch to Swipe lock a hundred times a day. Perhaps the corporate security admin will wipe my phone :silly:
Could it be solved by using another lock screen than stock?

Installing Widget Locker solved my problem :good:

Switch between swipe and pin (or pattern)
Has anyone found a possible solution?
I LOVE swipe lock, dashclock, and quick apps etc. But at work, I would prefer a pin. When I don't want the pin anymore, instead of diabling a lock screen all together, how can I set it to revert back to a swipe lock screen?
***side note unrelated (don't hate me) ****
share a related thread?
I have been searching forever for a way for Tasker to realize im driving and change settings etc because Im going say 20mph (even just for a few seconds) would indicate that I am likely driving.
*********thanks for not hating me***************
Here are some resources for lock screens:

Possibilities:

Thanks!
IDEA: at location 1 --> enable pin at location 2--> disable pin
A toggle as listed above for random situations like a baseball game etc.
... use the swipe unlock WITH a pattern or pin after the swipe?
Settings. Lockscreen. Set secured lock device to a longer time and you will get swipe after first pattern unlock. Mine is set to 5 min.
maybe i'm just doing it wrong. but its not working how i mentioned in the OP.. i'm saying i want to use swipe unlock and directly after that pattern, or pin or password will pop up.. my friends note 2 has a check box that says "With Swipe Lock".. wth would samsung take this out? ridiculous..

Got it. Not sure but possibly removed since were dealing with 4.22 multiple lockscreens rather than just one, previous to the s4
Hi All...
I think there is a small bug in Samsung's Note 3 Signature Lock screen in KitKat.
Please tell me if other people face this issue on theirs because it definitely happens on my Note.
1. Set up Signature Screen Lock from Settings. Also set up a backup pin.
2. Test it out by locking the phone and then using the pen to unlock.
3. Go back to Settings. Attempt to change the screen lock method. It will ask you for the backup pin.
4. Enter any bogus 4 digit number and it should accept it.
This bug is really small (if it even is a bug)....but I was bored and I thought I'd share it with you all.
Who uses signature lock anyway?
Regards
Xyan
I have it too
Yep. Same here.

guys, like topic suggest
is there a way to setup nexus imprint without the secondary lock method? (pin or pattern)
and still keep swipe to unlock?
(discounting smart lock and the likes)

Yes there is.
Set up the device with lock screen and fingerprints.
Boot to twrp and delete data/system/locksettings.db.
This retains the fingerprints but removes the lockscreen password. So it's swipe to unlock with working nexus imprint (you can use your fingerprints in purchasing apps in the play store or with other apps, like applock -fingerprint-, which is basically an applock that works with nexus imprint). You can also use your nexus imprint to awaken and unlock the phone(bypass the swipe to unlock). The lockscreen is then insecure though. I like this though because now on every boot I don't have to enter the password, and I can keep my important stuff secure.

He always used the fingerprint scanner and didn't use the lock pattern so is there a default pattern it could be? He really doesn't want to get a new phone.

You have to set up a pin, pattern or password before it will even let you use fingerprint.

Is it asking him to input one or setup one? When I updated, I got confused because I thought I was being asked for a pattern but actually it was asking me to set one up. I bypassed it and setup the fingerprint instead. Can't remember how I got by it though.

You don't have to set up security, it's optional.

There's also the option of setting up the pattern requirement at boot, which is separate (but uses the same pattern I think).
