And i did searcha round.. but there is so much info and i wanted to be as specific as possible on my own phone to make sure i don't kill it...

You can root and install safestrap, which is based on TWRP. The bootloader is locked so non-stock ROMs like CM11 or anything Lollipop based is out of the question. There are some good stock based ROMs though.

So taking a look around the net today, I came across an article that states that you can flash Kitkat onto N900 (Galaxy Note 3) using Odin... Does/Would this also include the Verizon version of the Note 3? I was under the belief that Verizon's bootloader didn't allow for KitKat installations because of some kernel compatibility issue or something keeping it from working... But would this allow for a Kitkat working install on (non-dev-edition) Ver-Note3? And if so, would this allow lay the groundwork for devs to be able to create install-able kitkat roms for said device? Any and all info/help on this would be greatly appreciated, as I'm sure there's a great deal of want for people with the Verizon Note 3 to be able to have KitKat, myself included!

This applies to the international version only sm-900 witch has a unlocked bootloader. I'm almost positive someone here tried it and bricked their phone.
Hey guys... it's been a while since I've been on XDA.. I can't say I'm much of a developer anymore so bear with me as I work 2 jobs and don't have a computer anymore to do ultra fast searching..
So I'm looking to root my VZW LG G2 on 4.4.2 but I'm running tmobile.. I'm not looking to run AOSP, if I was I'd already know the answer to these questions... I'm looking to flash a G3 port, any reccomendations? And on these stock roms what do I have to do to get my baseband working for tmobile? I read that optimusg3 would work on the vzw variant with the vzw baseband flashed, but is that necessary with me using tmobile? Would it be better to just flash a tmobile baseband? I'm not used to these multi-carrier phones... BACK IN MY DAY SONNY WE HAD DIFFERENT MODELS FOR DIFFERENT CARRIERS LOL.
Final annoyance if someone wouldn't mind making my life easier and provide a link for a tutorial of rooting with kit Kat that way when I'm in front of a computer I'll be able to get right to work without going search crazy..
Thanks all!!
I'm glad to be back!!!!!
Well first of all i have an SGH-I337 Sim Unlocked and am using it on the T-Mobile Network. Now I have been told something about a locked boot loader and other things but in all was told to ask my questions here. I am posting this because I want is to root this phone and use touhwiz roms. So to Make this Short as possible. Can anyone link me to any threads (as i know this has been talked about) and tell me what they are for and how to root and rom this phone. I only have experience with the TGS3 on the tmobile network never have i used a phone unlocked from another network and I would love to update this little guy as its an upgrade for me from a gs3 and right now the software are both kitkat.
The phone is An ATT SGH I337 unlocked on the T-Mobile Network
Its running NJ4 Stock
Any questions i will surely answer I hope to figure this out and pimp my phone, jk just make it an upgrade from my sg3 with kitkat so looking for lolipop. I have been told this model has some issue with asop roms but i dont care personally i like touchwiz cause most aosp software seams to be missing something IMO and takes at least a year to be stable i dont care if people say its a touchwiz clone I appreciate new features that work.

Read this first: [GUIDE]Odin to Stock, Updating, Rooting, and Installing Safestrap
Then read: Everything you need to know about custom roms.

Hi all -
I posted this question on CM forums - they suggest I also try here - I have a Cricket Galaxy S4 - post AT&T buyout. It is a GSM/LTE phone using CM11 and a Cricket SIM card. I was wondering if I am limited to CM11, or if I wanted to upgrade to CM13, would I just use the current jlfteatt builds? Anyone out there in a similar situation?
Thanks!

What's the exact phone model?
Since it already has CM11 you should also be able to get CM13 on it.
Both the "about phone" and sticker behind the battery say SGH-I337. Sorry for being noobish about it, but is that what you are referring to? I know the S4s cell in different flavors, but otherwise I just think it is the garden variety S4. I guess my main concern is all the talk about the basebsnd versions. Mine doesn't match exactly, but not sure if that is just about rooting the phone. I am of the same mindset that it should work if I have 11, but I can't afford to brick my phone just from a time perspective (never mind money as well ) but I want the shiny upgrade sooooo badly....?
Thanks!

There's nothing you can do about the basebands and bootloader. If you update them your device might get locked and no custom roms or root can flashed anymore.
Sincthe the phone already has CM11 I assume it isn't locked. So just flash a newer recovery (TWRP) and flash CM13.
Since I just got A S4 I have some questions. I mainly am used to nexus/moto devices in terms of roms/etc, and I know the process is entirely different with the S4.
The model is a AT&T S4. Updated to 5.0.1
I know I won't be able to unlock the bootloader, which is okay as long as I CAN have some hopes of running another firmware on it.
All I require is Root/Xposed, and maybe CM13..or any other android 6.0 based ROM. How feasible are my options? I won't know until I physically have it, but what should I look out for in terms of firmware/bootloader codes?
You cannot run any custom ROM unless the rom is based on a Samsung kernel which means no cm or aosp ROMs.

that sucks. Guess I will sell it for a bit higher than I bought it and grab something else. Thank you.
I have an s4 (Canadian version, i337m) which doesn't have a locked bootloader and I find the phone okay with stock unrooted LP. I used to based my phone decisions on whether there was an XDA forum but my flashaholic days are behind me
